After going from MIUI10 to MIUI 11, I ain't got anymore notification badges.
I tried to re install Poco launcher but it did nothing.
To have them I have to stop POCO, erease cache, disable notifications of the app I want, go to "desktop" then stop Poco, enable notification of the app I want end then... I got notification badges
any help please ?
My phone is the same, Xiaomi Mi 9. After updating to Android 10 / MIUI 11, none of the third-party apps show icons badges anymore, including WhatsApp. I've tried everything I could think of.
I had the same issue with my Mi 9T after Android 10 (yes it's a different phone but same temporary solution may work for the Mi 9). If I go into Notification Access, toggle Nova off, then back on, badges work until I turn the phone off. Then, upon restart, I need to redo this step again. It's only a temporary fix & I hope Xiaomi permanently fix it with the next update. This issues also affects the MiBand notifications & the same process is required each restart.

I have same problem with Mi 9 Lite MIUI 11. After restart badge icons works with Lawnchair launcher, but sometimes stop working and gone. I tried off MIUI Smart battery management for "lawnchair launcher" and tried on automatic start aplication and now testing it...

Hey guys.
I have a weird issue with all apps on the latest MIUI 10 release for the Mi 8 SE.
The problem is that I don't get notifications from a single app when new info in it arrives, be it Email, Whatsapp or XDA Labs.
Only when I actually enter the app do I suddenly get to see all the new messages and missed voice calls, as if the app wasn't even allowed to work in the background.
Anyone else experiencing this?
Setting notifications to Urgent may help you.
have you tried going to settings>battery>app battery saver? still waiting for 140 hours bootloader unlock :/

Yeah, I did but it didn't change anything.
The only solution I could find was to lock the specific apps in the background with the recenta menu.
However, that increased the stand-by drain.
I have to wait for around 250 hours.
In the current Miui 10 beta, the default notification settings for most apps are set to off.
Goto to settings > notifications > app notifications
And you have to turn on individual notification types for every individual app in there. Doesn't fix the lock screen notifications though.

It's all already enabled. I even set the notifications as Important.
I'm not a potato, I know that MIUI is tricky but things that should fix the issue don't seem to work on the latest MIUI 10 build.

Hello everyone
I have this very weird problem with my Huawei p30 pro AL00 model.
after I change my settings, the phone automatically changes it back without any pop-up or whatever.
For instance, I changed the notification settings to show banners for some apps. As soon as press back, the setting changes back to default, which is no banners. I have tried it for like 10 times and I can't change my notification settings. They change back!!!!
Has anyone experienced this?
I bought this phone 3 days ago. brand new phone. I have also turned off the automatic app launch settings and stuff related to notifications.
You need to update your device to the latest version to fix the issue
Hi, I need your opinion. I have a problem with the notification bar after the last update of Android. Randomly appears gear icon on the bar and after that, I cannot pull down the notification bar. I don't know if that problem is related to the Android update. Maybe it is something else. I need to know how to identify the gear icon. When I kill all running apps, gear icon disappears and everything is OK.
What process could do that? I don't have root permissions. I have official global ROM with MIUI Global 11.0.6.0 (QFAEUXM). I don't want to do a factory reset.
Thank you so much
Yikes... Did you do anything that could've triggered that? Like for instance, were you playing with system apps or trying new settings? Or game mode? Because I know that game mode has an option that won't let you pull down the notification bar. I know that it may not be possible for that to happen, but I have to ask just in case (I'm talking about the game mode scenario).
Sent from my MI 9 using Tapatalk
I have the same error ( MI 9)
https://streamable.com/p32y3
the notification bar remains black and can't be pulled down
havesam problem tough.but i just need scroll down little bit,i mean not from edge of the screen.
Same issue, Mi 9 SE, MIUI Global 11.0.2 .... with the same gear icon, with the same solution, what you just mentioned. Did anyone find a working solution?
found out what's causing the ominous notification
Hey, I downloaded an app called Notification History and it showed me that most probably it's the notification linked below. Unfortunately I'm still unable to solve the problem because I cannot start that app.
im#gur.com/a/EnleCU5(as I'm not yet allowed to post links, remove the hashmark)
Of course, I'm unable to tap there since I can't pull down the notification bar
Found a solution!!

Okay, all I did was re-downloading the latest patch from Settings->About phone->System update->3 dots in the top right corner->download latest package, and then installed it. It solved my problem so far, without any data loss or reinstalling. Hope this helps y'all!
UPDATE: The issue came back a day later, so I finally decided to factory reset the phone... smh Xiaomi
Hi everyone.
I've recently got a 9T pro for it's great camera and features. It's got MIUI 11.0.1 global rom (non-rooted).
However, I'm having a nightmare to deal with it's issue of killing background apps. I need apps, especially Calendar events, Gmail notification to pop-up and stay there until I cancel/snooze them, but the notifications either never pop-up or if on rare occasions they do, they are quickly forced closed once the screen is locked.
Now I would say I'm pretty advanced user for android phones, but this issue is totally baffling me. I've so far:
Enabled Permissions for ALL apps.
Disabled Battery restrictions for ALL apps
Checked all notifications and made sure they were all enabled.
Developer Options > Disable MIUI optimisations
I'm still having the same issues, so any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
You might just want to upgrade your rom. Those early versions of 11 were extremely buggy.
Don't disable MIUI optimisations! Just disable battery restrictions on apps you don't want to be closed, enable autostart on those apps and in recents menu lock apps you want to keep runing in background.
Thanks very much guys for your assistance.
turbine - I've already tried to do an OTA update, but it states that there are no further updates as yet. I assume this is down to my service provider? In which case, how do I get the latest version?
mnmchill - I thought miui optimisation where it aggressively closes down apps?
I've already disabled battery restrictions and enabled autostart for every single app.
What do you mean by lock the app, because I can't find such option on mine?? How do I get to it?
Cheers.

MIUI optimisation is now for a lot more than just killing apps and your system will not be stable if you turn it off. New MIUI betas don't even have an option to turn it off so in some time if will be unabled to turn it off on all new MIUI versions since turning it off makes more harm than good.
Locking app in memory is the first thing you should do to keep apps not killed. I thought you already knew about it so I mentioned it last while I was giving you suggestions. Basically you just open Recent menu and you'll see there windows of apps you opened recently. Now just hold your finger for a 1-2 seconds on a window of app you don't want to be killed and 3 options will pop out and you just choose option with padlock icon. That way app will be always in the background and will never be killed(battery optimisation must also be turned off for that app, of course). Do this procedure for all your apps you don't want to be killed and that's it since you just need to do it once per app.

Hi! I thought the miui optimisation was very aggressive for memory related events & had opted to keep disabled since miui 6 & later on..
What changed in miui 11 onwards ? Where can I read the latest info on it?

Ahh right. I'm sorry, but maybe I'm old school, but I called this option task switcher/task manager
I've now padlocked the relevant apps, but the menu recents still allows me to get rid of the app by swiping my finger across it, but the padlock otherwise stays on.. Does this mean it'll still be running in the background?
I've already disabled battery optimisation for all apps.
I red it on Mi 9T Pro telegram channel where one developer explained and, to make it short, basically he wrote that disabling MIUI optimisation on latest MIUI versions doesn't change much and that its cons definitely outweigh its pros. Also latest MIUI beta versions have that option enabled by default and removed from developer options and it's impossible to turn it off. Some day that beta will become stable MIUI version so no one will be able to disable it anyway.

If apps stay at recents menu after you press X at the bottom of recents menu then they will always run in background but if you manually remove app from recents by swiping your finger across it then you manually killed that app so it won't run in background anymore.

Thanks for clarifying this. Since your helpful advice, my phone seems to show notifications much more often. I'll need to try it for a bit longer. I'm not too happy with the fact that if I swipe my finger accidentally, I'll end up closing the app especially if it's got a padlock icon enabled.
Also, even though I've selected that my notifications and their content be shown, they are not appearing on the locked screen. Any idea how to fix this?
Thanks very much!
After a few updates, I've noticed the Lock app feature, which allows you to never stop an application from working in the background, on my Redmi 9 disappeared completely. How do I bring it back? The Miui version is Miui 12.5.3.

I dont think you'll find a solution, on my 9a i bringed it back by using root & Lposed, with custoMIUIzer on 12.0.19 (Dont know if it'll work on your version)
Also, if you cant make it work, you can manually enable this option, just enter settings on the Security app and then on "Boost Speed", there you'll find a "Lock Apps", its exactly the same thing
