I am using Red Magic 3 (12GB version) with latest Global released rom, I own a Ford Ecosport 2019 model and Ford Sync does not detect my device to start Android Auto setup.
I have tried different cables, ports but there seems some issue with the phone itself as I am able to initiate it on other devices.
Has anyone encountered same? Is there a fix?
Will really appreciate any help. Thanks.

Sorry for late reply. My phone was gone for a month.
Enabling default to File transfer makes it visible on as a device on my car system. But does not start Android auto setup.
Some times it won't launch on my phone till I hot the Android auto icon on my car. It's a 2018 Camaro ZL1 1LE. If I press the icon it just connects. Looks like it's more the Android auto app then the phone. You can try deleting the Android auto and all the settings redownload and set it up.
I have the same issue. Nubia's support has no response. My wife's android device simply connects, as do all of my other older android phones.
Does anyone have a solution for this? I highly doubt support will get back to me.

This was one of the first things I tried. In fact I tried running through all of the USB connection types. No go. I also contacted Nubia support. This did not end up anywhere fruitful.
Does Android Auto work for you?
Same issue with my 5S or my old 5g. Sync 3 doesn't detects android auto, but only on Ford, on Seat or Audi works nice.
Best regards

Just got my Turbo, and I like it very much. What I don't like is that I can't seem to connect it to my Linux laptop. Could use a little help please.
Further, I disabled the autoloading software - because it's Windows software...now I can't find that setting.
Anyone?
BTT.
Still having issues with this. .otherwise, phone is 5X5.
What distro are you using? Can you see your phone in your file manager? Have you installed mtp support...?
Also, try enabling USB debugging. I had some connectivity issues and enabling it seemed to solve them, although I'm not sure if that was just a coincidence.

I am using Linux Mint 13. Didn't have any issues with the HTC phones I've owned. Can't see it in file manager, nothing pops up. Didn't know I needed to install MTP support - considering the other phones worked fine. Hmmm.

I did that, no help. I'll keep digging. Thanks.
13 is old.... really old. Not sure if they even support MTP. I would highly, highly suggest moving to Ubuntu 14.10, at the very least to a CLEAN install of the latest mint. I had nothing but issues with mint so I switched to stock ubuntu (plus I like compiz fusion too much)

Upgraded to 17, works like a champ.
Thanks!
My wife just purchased a Turbo. I can not get the storage to mount on Ubuntu 14.10. This is the only phone that I don't have access to the storage. I do have access to the PMP. I am also receiving an "no permissions" when using adb. I search for adb devices, and no permissions? I have developer options enabled, USB debugging checked. I just tried 2 other phones with adb, all functions?

I can only come up with one thing right now, was the phone unlocked when you plugged it in? Sometimes my turbo gives me grief if it's locked and I connect it. Can't think of much else.
You may want to have a look at this article.
Ekkoria Thanks. Good read.
I changed the fuse.conf, and added my device to the, 69-libmtp.rules.
All working here.
Thanks
Hi everyone,
Loving my 3T, which is stock 4.16, rooted with Magisk, and has TWRP recovery. ADB debugging is enabled in settings.
One thing I noticed that I want to change is that when I plug it into my PC, the USB defaults to "Charge Only" and I have to go into the USB connection settings and switch it to MTP mode. I haven't noticed a way to set MTP mode to be the default behavior. When I plug into the PC it is always to transfer files so I want to set this as the default.
My previous phones remembered the last behavior chosen, I think.
What's the process to choose default USB behavior for the 3T?
Thanks

I think I found it. In developer options, Select USB configuration. I will test when I get home but I was able to change it from charge to MTP.

Tonight I will try it out. I figured I would need to unlock the phone (via fingerprint in my case) but would prefer not to have to poke around in settings each time. I think it is sorted with the change in Dev options. Soon I will know for sure.

For me it seems to work. I'm at work and my work computer is blocked for lots of things, so if it had failed it could be a false negative (hence my plan to try this at home). But, I plugged in my phone to the work computer, and it popped up the directory no problem, as long as the phone was unlocked.
This was a big change from before where I had to first unlock, then get to the menu and change from charge only to file transfer mode.
I will also test at home and see if it works normally there too, but it seems changing this developer setting works at least for me.

Interesting. I tested this repeatedly on my work laptop, and it worked fine (Windows 7), defaulting to MTP as long as the screen is unlocked.
Here at my home computer (also windows 7), it reverts to charging unless I use the pulldown menu to set it to MTP.
The only difference I can think of is the "driver installation" on the laptop failed. But, connectivity was fine.

Maybe this is because of different (newer) Android? Mine on Marshmallow doesn't remember the setting, regardless if the device is unlocked, hmm
Is it possible to prevent the update to 8.0?
I've read conflicting stories, some say turn off auto download and just ignore the update messages.
Others say the upgrade will install regardless.
Which is it?
It's preventable to some extent i guess... But it pops again and again... And then the system is going to get buggy.... Any particular reason not to upgrade....

You can untick the option but some people reported it eventually installed anyways. To be safe I would disable the specific packages, but yes it's possible.

Thanks buddy, how do you disable the packages?
If your using a carrier unlocked version you can simply move to a different carrier and if your drivers are not up to date you will never get a notification to update. I currently have an ATT unlocked note 8 running on T-Mobile still on 7.1.1 as you can see
I prevented the updates by not allowing autoupdates in settings, as I knew that this was not entirely reliable, I used bk disabler pro plugin, if you are still running 7.1.1, it is easy to do it this way
Any reason why you don't want to install the latest version of Android on your device? As you are leaving your device opened to security flaws.

I spend a lot of time in my car inbetween appointments, visiting clients etc.
Its important that I'm up to speed at work and the Note 8 was (until oreo and 1st October patch) the only device that gave me email, sms and system messages in my BMW.
Whilst driving, the car would read out my emails and if it was important I could make a call in response. Now, my note 8 doesn't even see the car, nothing, zilch, nada.
I know BT works on other pairings, I can pair the phone to my other devices but it just will not see the car and the car now won't see the phone. I can pair other phones to it but none of them give me email which is molto importante!
I have already updated the car BT and like I've said, it used to work up until a month ago.
So, I'm trading in my note 8 for a new one that is still on 7.1.1 as I'm dead in the water without connectivity whilst travelling.
I have been on with Samsung support who say BMW need to make an updated BT oreo firmware and, BMW say the same about Samsung.

Can you get a hold of another Note 8 running Nougat and trying pair that with your BMW? If it is indeed an Oreo issue I would recommend that you report it to Samsung and wait for them to address it via a OS Update.

Yes.... I took a look, and unfortunately even in the developer's page it is no longer available, and it can not be installed from an unofiicial source as it needs to be validated and activated by the developer, but, take a look at this:

I just got a V40 ThinQ yesterday and after I got done setting it up I went to go home and quickly realized that this phone doesn't pick up the Sync Bluetooth system in a 2012 Ford. I tried syncing it through the USB port in the car it told me that the phone was an unsupported device. Am I just going to have to wait for an update that will allow this phone to be supported by that system?

Reboot the whole system on your car. I have 2012 Ford Fusion and had that same issue wgen I first got the V30 last year. Also had it pop up when I got the G7. Bluetooth can sometimes be weird with LG devices and Sync.
I gotcha, how would I reboot the system? Do I just Master reset in the system settings?

You can do that if you want but you will lose all your sound settings and any program ex AM/FM presets you have set. Sync reboot is right after master rest or at least it is on my car.
I Googled how to reboot Sync but all it pulled up was master reset.
Same here, I did the master reset and it surprisingly kept all my presets and sound settings. I found out that I was actually missing a step to connect my phone. It didn't have anything to do with the phone or the radio, just human error. Thanks for helping me out though, really appreciate it.

initially I have the same "no installed apps work with this usb accessory" as well, but all I do is opened up all the permission for android auto and other google services, and I got a black screen during connection.
What I notice is on CN version even if you allow it to auto-start, and the phone knows that(it pops a notice saying do you want to start android auto?) the android auto does not response to the start command it seems result in a black screen.
I'll try the permissions can you let me know which apps aside from Android Auto you flipped the permissions for? Let me try to get to the same spot as you.

I spent quite a lot of time on this. There's something broken on the Chinise firmware. I also got the pop up and then phone freezes. I tried beta 12.5.2 and still the same issues. I don't know if 12.5.3 fixed this, since I move to the global ROM - where Android Auto works just fine.
Also, I tried many many apk versions of Android Auto with the same luck...

I have encountered this in other phones like oneplus 8 pro CN version ROM, My guess is that all the CN ROM lacks a small crucial permission for android auto to start normally during the connection, but the thing is we don`t know what it is.
Well even without the Android Auto installed I get that USB message so I guess it didn't make a difference installed or not permission and what not. Something is just not registering with the phone.
What are the draw backs with a global rom and also does that enable smart lock? That is something else that seems to be missing from MIUI.

I am facing the same issue. Did you find a resolution for it?
don't forget to use original usb c cable (only one works with me)
I faced a bunch of issues too.
I had to do two things:
1) change my crappy USB-c cable
2) go to apps, manage apps, search for Android auto, then clear settings for Android auto: first cache and then all.
After I did that, I was greeted by the android auto setup and all work out!
Hope this helps!
Ps: I'm on 12.5.4 global
same issue with K30 Ultra China rom. i got this issue after upgrading to MIUI 12.5.4 from 12.0.20. every worked in last ROM but appeared right after i upgraded to 12.5.4. Has anyone fixed it?
Without the Android Auto installed I get that USB message so I guess it didn't make a difference installed or not permission and what not. If your phone is facing issues or slowing down because of Android Auto then you can disable Android auto. That is something else that seems to be missing from MIUI.
I'm getting this issue with my Mi 10 Ultra (Chinese version) MIUI 12.5.6.0
Any practical fix so far (without the need to flash any other rom)? This is really annoying!
If anyone finds this on google, clearing play services data solved the issue for me.
