Huawei P30 Pro camera scratch - would it affect image quality? - Huawei P30 Pro Questions & Answers

Hi,
I just got a new Huawei P30 Pro. After unpacking it discovered that there is a small scratch on the camera glass, just at the edge of the ultra-wide camera. The glass in front of the other cameras seems clear.
Please refer to the photos and the red circle in the first one - this is where the scratch is located.
Do you think it would affect image quality?
I haven't yet shot with the phone in the bright sun, but I could not see any artifacts or flare when shooting indoors towards bright objects, mostly lamps.
In case you think it would negatively impact image quality, would the warranty cover the phone to be exchanged with a new one or only the glass shall be polished/replaced?
Did anybody have similar issues with a new P30 Pro out of the box?
Thank you in advance!

I am not aware of anyone running into this issue before. If you set it on a rough surface or a surface with granules of sand, then that could definitely be the culprit. As far as replacing the lens goes, there is currently no way to get a hold of a replacement lens as far as I know.
If you mean the inside phone part then you'll have to replace the entire camera part. If you mean just the part that you can touch with your finger then you'll need to replace the back glass.
I'm having the same issue, there are some spots on top of the lenses on my phone that won't go away and *all* my photos are have the white color over exposed plus focusing is never sharp enough like other phones, I bought the phone the way it is now and I'm going to replace the back glass to see if it helps.

bezelless trend taken farther?

long time lurker, first time poster, I'm a 'hip kid' who does frequently take selfies, and i think the miezu pro 7 did selfies justice by adding a back screen, but am i totally crazy to say that i'd give up selfies totally (or at least switch to rear camera selfies) as long as i'd have a totally bezelless display? phones within the past year have been moving to a 'tri bezelless' design by moving everything to the bottom, and it looks like the rise of microsoft zunes.. gross.. i'd totally give up my front facing camera if i had 0 bezels whatsoever, can anyone agree?
Still need the front facing camera
Hey there,
I'm also a newbie here.
I think the bezel-less design on phones will definitely go further, but I don't think I can give up the front facing camera just to have a 0 bezel phone.
Cheers
do you think we'll ever get the point where the edge of the LCD panel will be the only bezel? it's already a thing on TV's, why not phones? and what about under display cameras? Vivo and synaptic did it with fingerprint scanners, why not cameras? its doable since the new vivo phone's sensor basically is a camera

External Lense

So ive been taking pictures with my beloved Note 8 for some time now. And the only thint that bugged me is how I need to have some distance just to capture a wider view. I got annoyed and thought what if I buy a wide angle lense? Has anyone tried using one? And what brand do you recommend? Ive been eyeing the products of Aukey and they seem to be good.

I'm going to a concert soon and I'm also looking for a Len's that snaps onto the phone but one that zooms in without sacrificing quality. I'm going to a few concerts this year and being able to zoom in would be awesome.
Hi ... I am a photographer that picked up a few lenses for my Note 8. I have the new Moment Wide from Moment. I also have their case for the Note 8 to mount the lens. It is very sharp and has excellent image quality. I can recommend it. I also own the Moment Fisheye (ultra wide lens). I would recommend that you only get the Fisheye as a second lens. The Wide is extremely useful, the Fisheye is a special purpose lens (but it is nice quality and is sharp). For a tele lens Moment makes a 2x tele, but I own the Sirui 60mm it is also a 2x tele lens. Since the Note 8 has a 2x camera module, why would you want a 2x lens? Because you can use it on the primary, higher quality camera module in lower light. The Sirui is sharper than the Moment 2x. It is very sharp. The Sirui can use the Moment case because it has a lens mount that is very similar to the Moment lens mount.
If I was only going to buy one lens, it would be the new Moment Wide. But, the new Moment Wide and the Sirui 60mm is a nice combination because it gives you three focal lengths to use. The standard lens in the Note 8 and the two additional lenses.
I don't know if you are shooting stills or video. For video I also have a DJI Osmo Mobile gimbal and two Moment counterweight (50 g., 100 g.) so I can use the lenses on the gimbal and still balance the extra weight of the lenses. This combo can create very smooth/stable video.
Good luck.

The Moment site has many sample photos of the Moment Wide lens; here is the link:

You can switch between the standard camera lens and the Moment Wide without any loss of sharpness. Images will be of similar sharpness, just much wider. The Sirui 60mm tele has sharpness and rendering that is similar to the Moment Wide.

Dust collecting under the main lens of Redmi K20 pro

I've received my redmi K20 pro for only 2 weeks now and I've noticed that my main 48MP lens has been collecting dust since. The phone is in perfect shape. No leakage or anything. I've been using the case that was in the package. Is there anyone else who has the same problem? I've attached the picture.
No similar experience?
I have! But not the main camera, but only under the wide camera.. Annoying, but dont use the wide camera that often!

Yeah, you are luckier than me. I donno even why this is happening.
Must be a fault from the manufacturing. Since it has started to build up as soon as I got the phone.

No but my back panel got some thin scretches as I don't use back case or any protector now i am thinking to buy transparent thin protector film for back panel.
Welp, similar issue now rises with Redmi Note 9/9S/9 Pro users at a greater number:

Hi, unfortunately after using k20 pro for a year and half. Now i can see some dust particles collecting under my wide angle camera glass. I don't know whether this is a manufacturer defect or not cause i didn't see that earlier.
By the way do anyone figure out how to clean them?

Question Broken "REAR DISPLAY"

Hi,
It seems I have a very peculiar problem at hand as there is absolutely no info about it anywhere. I happened to drop my Mi 11 Ultra from about 6 feet height and it landed with a thud with the display facing down. Luckily the display survived. No crack, no damage nothing but then came the shocker. Somehow the rear display has cracked. The glass protecting the camera lenses and the rear display itself is fine but the rear display has a few cracks and it has become dead.
I quickly checked the rest of the phone, everything's just fine. Now I did not think that replacing the rear view display would be such a big problem but when I contacted Mi Customer care via Online chat, they said that the rear display can't be replaced in India!
I saw a couple of teardown videos of the Mi 11 Ultra and it seems that the display is molded/sealed or embedded into the ceramic back. So technically it seems to look like as if replacing the ceramic back means the rear display will by default come with it.
Can anyone please confirm this? Mi Customer Care seems to be useless. Need your input guys. I will be really grateful. Thanks!
