Settings-apps-permissions-automatic restart-choose your app and check it.
In developer mode at the bottom switch off MIUI optimisation.. Android will take care of ram optimisation.. that thing help me.. and also auto start the app in security section.. hope it helps.

I need it to be applied globally, meaning for all apps without manual Check.
I uaed to have samsung note 4 with only 3 GB ram and it keeps all apps in recent apps for very long time. and when killing I can access app through recent apps and it will be reloaded instantly.

Hello guys,
When I go to the multi app page in my Note 5, going back to the app that I have previously used,
I often find the app restarting instead of resuming from the place where I stopped.
Is there a way to keep the app in the background for a longer time so that I can have a better multi-tasking experience?
(I am pretty sure Note 5 have enough ram for these tasks, I am not using memory-demanding apps)
Does it have anything to do with my only cleaning app Greenify that hibernates background app?
Btw my note 5 is rooted
Thanks a lot!
Hi, my P20 Pro had EMUI 9.1.
Even before the update, apps stopes running in the background and not starting at start-up.
I.e. Automate, Shpock, etc and after the 9.1 update Nova Google Companion stopped running as well.
I’ve tried Manu > Battery > App launch and changed these apps to manage manually, but no luck.
Any help /advise will be highly appreciated.

Make sure you select the options when enable manually (3 toggles).
Cheers!

Thanks for your advise.
I did select all 3 option, however it still doesn't auto start and doesn't run at the background.

The only thing I can think of is maybe an option in the app itself to start on boot. Otherwise try to reinstall the app and before running it the first time, set those options.

Check for ignore optimizations in the search bar in the settings app.
Then, find your app and click allow. This will prevent it from getting killed in the background since doze in EMUI is hard coded (i think) inside the os

I searched for optimizations and under apps>>battery optimizations I found a menu of apps that I could not find through any other way! Thanks!

After disabling autostart app why apps runs in backgrounds does it consume more ram ?
these are apps that need to be running in the background in order to receive ( realtime ) notifications. And yes this does consume RAM, however you have 6 or 8 gigabytes, so a few of these won't matter much.
i do not recommend the facebook app though, since its tracking you at all times, thats another reason why facebook app consumes more ram en energy than other apps.

Is there any fix for that? I already tried clearing data of system launcher and still this problem exists. This happen quite often ( 4-5 times in a day)

The Miui 13 kills the Samsung app to sync to my watch, on miui12.5 you could stop It but i can't find the battery optimization option anywhere...
Official MIUI 13 EEA Rom:
I don't have the Samsung app installed, but other apps like Fitbit, Mi Fitness etc have that option available.
I'm on a Chinese ROM, the option does not appear anywhere on any app.

Try the app 'Hidden Settings for MIUI' from the play store.
