Whenever an app asks for an update I am linked to the Xiaomi app store instead of the Google play store.
I am on China's 5.9.17 developer ROM.
Anyway to solve it?

Settings>System Apps>App Store
Go there & disable notifications and automatic updates.
I had already done that, everything was unchecked except "delete package" which I unchecked now.
For example if I di a research in chrome and that some of the results are app, I am linked to Xiaomi app store.
Don't think there is actually a way to go around it as it is a Chinese ROM because global one hasn't been released and there is no option to change the default App Store
That's what I thought although I was hopeful there was a kind of tweak
I 'heard' that using an app to freeze the store would work.
Caution: deleting the mi store will lead to FC and problems.
yes, you have to freeze the application but do not uninstall it.

Change language is the trick. Worked flawless! Thank you.
Anyway to do this with some Xiaomi apps, like Music, Videos, etc? I'm thinking to root to disable them, and to install a 3rd part locator on system partition, because "Locate My Device" don't activate my SIM card.

I'm going to try this option; the other option in the first post requires you log in your ggogle account and I do not have one - this requirement should be added to 1st post.
[EDIT] Disable is still greyed-out... (root required?)

That's what it says for me as well, in my poco f1 though. Have you figured something out?
Hello!
I'm using "Messages" app from Google and made it a default app for sms. I also revoked all permissions from the default "Messaging" app - however, after some time it becomes the default sms app again with ALL the permissions. Has anyone encountered something similar? How to deal with it? This really annoys me! Since I don't need it I want to remove it but not sure if it's safe to do so. Would appreciate you advice.
Some additional info in case it's needed:
App: Messaging v10.2.1.2 (com.android.mms)
ROM: MIUI Global 10.3.11
Thanks!
I have a similar issue on my Mi9T and it's still there after updating to MIUI Global 11.0.1 | Stable 11.0.1.0 (PFJMIXM). No matter what I do, I keep getting a pop asking if I want to make my chosen messaging app (Google Messaging) the default app.

From what I was able to find out this happens during Auto backup. I disabled it and the issue was fixed. Try that. Google backup worked and works fine.

Thanks for the tip. I had already disabled the Xiaomi Cloud backup, so now I've disabled the local backup too. Fingers crossed it does the trick.
How can i change the installed Xiaomi Downloads App with the Default App from Google ?
After downloading something its not showing up in the Xiaomi App, i want to use the Google Default App like on my Xperia before.
Installing Google Default App is not possible, because of the same App name that Xiaomi is using.
Thanks for any Tip

Settings-apps-permissions-automatic restart-choose your app and check it.
In developer mode at the bottom switch off MIUI optimisation.. Android will take care of ram optimisation.. that thing help me.. and also auto start the app in security section.. hope it helps.

I need it to be applied globally, meaning for all apps without manual Check.
I uaed to have samsung note 4 with only 3 GB ram and it keeps all apps in recent apps for very long time. and when killing I can access app through recent apps and it will be reloaded instantly.
