Good morning, I got the Android 10 update on the P30 Pro 2 days ago. This update has closed my bootloader and I see no way to open this more. Fastboot oem unlock ******* is no longer recognized. Is there another way to reopen the bootloader? Greetings Manuela
Probably not unless you downgrade back to 9.1, it seems even with many people spamming their forums and support site's that they don't care and are committed to never reopening bootloader even for those who have the code already, i'm done with this **** company.

Since HMD / Nokia said that they'd begin offering bootloader unlocks on a selection of their devices, very little has happened, and consequently, very little if any development or popularity on XDA or among other tinkerers or power users has followed.
The 9 is potentially a very attractive device, and I've ordered one on the potential strength of the camera and general value proposition, even if I'd rather the screen weren't so small (6" 18:9 is tiny - given tall aspects' narrowness and poor usability).
I'm hoping they'll do the right thing here, but if they don't, I can't see myself keeping it, and would struggle to recommend it or other Nokia devices to anyone.
I'd like to know this as well. I'm so used to having devices with unlockable bootloader, I was in my feelings when my PureView 9 wasn't unlockable
Anyone who has the phone already, what does it say about the 9 (if anything) when logging into the Nokia bootloader unlock portal?

Not supported by unlock tool. I tried it a few days ago
By looking at the guides available, seems very plausible: https://myphoneupdate.com/root-nokia-9-pureview-and-install-twrp-recovery/
Been interested in this phone even tho it's a bit big.

Pretty sure it's one of those generic guides that those clickbait sites publish. Half their guides are for phones that have never been unlockable.

Well, that's sad.
Never trust those fake guides that were done under template.
I can really unlock the Nokia 9, but the details will be disclosed later.

Last I saw, he wants you to pay and be able to remote into your laptop. Nothx.
Does anyone know how to flash updated stock firmware on Nokia 9 pureview with unlocked bootloader?
I managed to unlock bootloader for Nokia 9 using this site https://hikaricalyx.com/product/nokia-direct-ubl-service/ since it's free service till May 12. Installed magisk, so far so good. Only thing I need now is TWRP

There's a dev that asked for $30 to help with development of TWRP,i can give you his telegram link in DM and you will see some of his work on other Nokia devices, we just need enough users who are interested to donate since he'll not make it for free, keep in mind that he might still not be able to make one that decrypts data and there for making the whole thing very useless without ability to make nandroid backups of /data
Hi guys,
I'm thinking of retiring my old OnePlus 5 in favor of a phone with a better camera. I mean Google camera mod + Magisk camera libraries work ok-ish, but it's hard to configure properly for each shot and I just want something multipurpose that works great out of the box.
I've started reading reviews about the Huawei P30 Pro and it seems like a good fit for me but I came here and was absolutely shocked about the lack of threads in the Huawei P30 Pro development section on XDA I mean it's been 1 month since launch and I see nothing about Magisk, not to mention custom recoveries, kernels or ROMs...
Having never owned a Huawei device before and having read a little through the threads here I'm even more confused about the situation so I have a couple of questions:
How long does it usually take for Huawei phones to be rooted?
Do you actually have to pay for getting to root access?
Why do people use FunkyHuawei, does Huawei really not release software updates? What IS FunkyHuawei anyway?
Can you not have both a custom recovery AND Magisk installed at the same time on a Huawei?
I'd rather buy an iPhone than not have Titanium Backup, AdAway and LuckyPatcher on an Android phone. My other options would be to either get the OnePlus 7 Pro next month or wait for Google Pixel 4 XL.
Thanks (in advance) for the info!

1) Huawei does not allow to root and unlock bootloader anymone
2) The only way to unlock bootloader, root and unbrand/change region of a Huawei pphone is to pay a third part paid software
3) Huawei release updates in a strange way, if .153 is relesed today, you can receive OTA in 1 day or in 1 month. People use FunkyHuawei to faster update or unbrand/change region - root - unlock bootloader.
4) Probably there won't be any custom rom for new Huawei/Honor (from P30 series or Honor 20 series). But it's possible to have root (don't know if magisk will be supported).
If you need to mod your phone, Huawei it's not the right choice.

I see, that's extremely disappointing. I see now that I was spoiled by OnePlus' support of system modifications. Thank you for the information!
Hi Guys,
my wife is still using her p20 pro and she likes do upgrade it.
Use Case: Facebook/Messenger, Line App, Youtube (mybe google maps but thats rly kind of optional)
98% front camera
So I was looking for the best frontcam or selfie camera I can find, regardless of price.
p40 pro+ seems to be the best (checked s20 ultra too).
She does not need any more apps (maybe some kind oof photo editing but not soecial ones)
Would you recommend upgrading to p40 pro+ ?
Thank you
BR, Konz
I too have a P20 Pro and what an excellent phone it has been. I bought a P40 Pro + in October last year and it took me a very long time to get GMS sorted out on the phone.
My phone arrived pre-installed with 10.1.0.176. I achieved installing GMS by downgrading to 10.1.0.145; whilst I was finally able to install GMS, I have achieved it at the cost of losing OTA updates. I am currently looking to fix this (see this thread) but it seems the firmware I need is no longer available - so I am stuck again.
Yes, the phone & hardware is great but Huawei are doing their level best to make sure you can't use that hardware in the way you might want.
If you are willing to go through a whole lot of pain, then you *might* end up with a great phone. It's March 2021, six months down the line and I am still not there.
Huawei could have stuck the big finger up at Google & poured their immense dev effort into contributing & sorting out MicroG, but it seems that's far to altruistic for Huawei. They could have unlocked the bootloader but again that's far too altruistic for Huawei, for whom it seems to me your very expensive phone is simply a doorway into your private life and as a customer you really don't matter at all.
Looking back and considering the stuffy response I received to my support request, I'd advise your wife to hang on the her very decent P20 Pro and wait for another company to include a 10x zoom.
In short, in my humble opinion Huawei does not deserve your wife's custom.
With my best regards, Kitty Cat.

Don't ever buy a phone without a bootloader unlock option if you're a XDA user.
I'm returning my P40Pro+, felt completely trapped with critical apps unavailable (2FA Authenticator, Banks...).
SAD, but Huawei is becoming a software provider, so...

These applications run without the express need for GMS.
However, GMS can be installed on the P40 pro without any problems, I don't see why this could not be done on the P40 pro + as well.
With GMS installed you will have a 100% functional phone with no GMS restrictions.
Contact @ badmania98 and he will clarify in detail, what can be done and what not. But I think so, that GMS can be installed without problems and she will be able to use the phone at full capacity, without restrictions.
@RedWave31,
I don't think the P40 pro + is too different from the P40 pro ...
I installed GMS on the P40 pro since I bought it and used it without any problems, including NFC payment (in the meantime I switched to Mate40 pro, P40 pro remained with my son).
I have been away from OnePlus for a few years, but I do remember that on their website you used to be able to pull the updates from them and manually update. Went on the website and nothing shows for the one plus 10 pro or higher. What gives? They not doing that anymore? I heard oppo merged with them and is killing one plus, but they stopped all together with the updates online?
Yeah, it's ****ing "OPPO 10 Pro" with ****y ColorOS
R.I.P. OnePlus and OxygenOS
Probably in future OPPO will close access to fastboot mode !!!!
Seriously, before buying new phone the first thing to do is checking XDA to see if it has TWRP and Custom ROMs ...
Also 10 Pro give me a big lesson:
Do not trust to any ****ing chines brands !!
Just use oxygen updater..no need for the website.
And yes oppo has stuck it's oar in and OnePlus has a terminal illness from here on in.
Do yourself a favour and do not buy another OnePlus or oppo device...
In fact I'd go as far to say steer clear of all Chinese phones if you can help it. They obviously have an agenda

I only used the website to download the updates for root to get the boot.img, don't get me wrong I am enjoying this phone. In fact I came from a s22 ultra and was very disappointed with that phone. I was having many issue with it. Only reason I went back to OnePlus was the option of modding. I don't mod much, but I would love to have that option later down the road to do so if needed. This unfortunately will be my last OnePlus phone and will be getting a pixel 7 pro. Can't find much that works on Verizon.

Oh don't worry, they absolutely will . They have already blocked bootloader unlocks on their other phones. But hey we're SeCuRe and should be thankful.
Soon it will only be google in the U.S.

I've a couple of guides on rooting, center clock mod and there a guide for installing GSIs.
I hope that MSM gets fixed but I doubt it.
Such a shame

I seen them and appreciate all that work you have done. The gsi's I don't want to do, the rooting I will wait until a guide comes out on how to return to stock. Once that comes I may give it a try. I did make a guide on how to return OnePlus back to stock.

Returning to stock is quite simple, you just boot the original boot image. That's kind of it.
If you're wanting to relock the bootloader then just do so.
The processes I've made are so reversible.
No risk.
I'd like to try Linux on my phone, something like PostmarketOS. I've never modded a phone, I just want to try something new
Well, just like most other OPPO phones bootloader can't be unlocked because OPPO and Huawei are against that. If You want a phone with easily unlockable bootloader then get a Xiaomi or Motorola or a Samsung or OnePlus but with Samsung, ROM mileage may vary so it's best just to check XDA before buying a phone and checking if any ROMs or bootloader unlock is available. If nothing shows up then stay away from that phone. And don't don't trust those generic websites either. They have unlock guides or even fake TWRP available for all phones but in the end it doesn't actually work. It's just copy pasted and just for ad revenue.
Also, postmarketOS is something that You try, have fun with it for maybe 5 minutes at best and go back to Android anyway, so while choosing a new phone, keep in mind that pmOS is something that You will quickly leave and never return to it.
