Hi together,
i wanted to update my galaxy s10 to android 10 using odin and flashing the firmware.
I wanted to flash bl,ap,csc and cp. during the flashing the device unplugged and I was only able to press powerbutton and vol- for 7 sec.
Then the phone rebooted and i was facing an error screen saying:
An error occured while updating the device software. Use the emergency recovery function in the Smart Switch PC software.
Now i cant get in to fastboot again and smart switch is not detecting the device.
What can i do?
Doest matter, use odin load all 4 files and it will work again
Ty for the replied I just tried IT and IT worked Ty.

Hi,
I rooted my Samsung Note 4 a couple months ago. Everything has been working great with the rooted device. However, I want to unroot the device so that I can install Android 5 (lollipop). When I press Vol up, center and on/off button, I get the message "dm-verity verification failed". So I cannot install the stock rom with ODIN since ODIN does not recognize the device. I have downloaded the correct version of ODIN, stock rom and windows drivers for Samsung Note 4 SM-N910F.
I also tried returning to factory settings on the recovery mode, but the message is still there.
Can Anybody help me please?
You need to press and hold power button + volume Down + home button to enter download/odin mode and be able to flash via odin
I have been flashing roms for years on Samsung Devices and every time I had an issue in the past, I was able to fix it - somehow - some way - until now - I believe I have finally - really bricked my phone but in a last ditch desperate effort am hoping someone can help.
Here is the issue:
I was using the most recent Odin to flash the most recent firmware for N960F - the odin flash failed halfway thru - don't know why - it just failed. No error message - but in the top of the column where it usually says PASS when you finish flashing - it said fail.
The phone screen was a blue screen that said the update to my phone has failed - use Smart Switch emergency recovery.
I connected my PC to the phone via USB and when I started Smart Switch - it says my device is not supported. I tried to reboot the phone - tried to turn it off - tried to put it in download mode - and each time it simply goes back to the screen saying that I needed to use Smart Switch Emergency Recovery. Which doesn't work, each time I attempt to use it. Device Not Supported.
I tried to power off the phone and it won't power off. Held power button and volume downfor over 1 minute and nothing happens. (Same thing with power and volume up - power, bixby and volume down) I also tried getting into download mode by holding Volume Down and Bixby and then plugged phone into USB and PC (with Odin open on my PC) and nothing happens.
I have trued everything I can think of - hoping there is something someone can suggest that might work to help me do an emergency recovery or flash stock back onto my phone? Or am I holding an ineffective boat anchor ?
Thanks in advance for your assistance - hoping someone can help.

I actually ran into the same exact issue about a week ago, and was sure I bricked my phone. However, when it is stuck on that screen saying to use the emergency Smart Switch recovery, it is actually already in download mode.
After realizing that, I simply used Odin, saw that it detected the phone, and flashed back to my original N960U1 firmware which worked perfectly. I see that you mentioned you tried Odin, but was that when you were trying to go into download mode/rebooting? See if it shows it is connected when it's on the stuck blue screen.

Wow - sometimes the most simple solutions are the right ones. Thank you so much. I was so worried over bricking the device that I didn't realize it was still being recognized by Odin.
I reloaded ODIN and flashed the firmware and it worked. PHone is booting up now. NEver seen an issue like this before - but glad you had the experience to share to help me figure it out. Thanks so much for your help!

I had the same issue on S7 exynos trying to downgrade firmware. Flashing latest firmware via Odin solved it.
First of all, i am referring to Sm-t713 device.
I had lineage os installed, and today i tried to flash the stock rom using odin
During the process (after i had enter dl mode), i got the message failed at the tablet screen.
So, after that, i pressed Volume down and Power button to reboot the tablet. The tablet screen switches off and turns on again after 1 sec showing the message :
An error has eccured while updating the device software. Use the emergency recovery function in the Smart Switch Pc software.
Is it possible the device is bricked forever?
Can i do something to fix it?
I installed Smart Switch and Samsung Kies, but they don't recognize the device

Ignore that message and put the tablet back in download mode then reflash.
This message I get when I try to power up my Note 9 N960F/DS.
I got it this way: Been running the same ROM for 2 years. Time to upgrade. Upgraded TWRP via the app. After downloading the ROM image to SD card, I tapped an app called Reboot, with the Recovery option. I suspect this app is from some old installation, and ended up on this unit via data restore. Now all I get is this message on a black screen. No logo, nothing. Message flashes once. If I plug into PC, message flashes repeatedly. Cannot boot to recovery using Vol-+Pwr, Vol++Pwr ineffective.
I suspect I bricked the phone, but I seem to remember once breaking out of this 2 years back, I think. Any ideas, clues, anything?
Try this, power off phone. Press volume up and bixby button and while pressing buttons insert data cable, phone should go to downlaod mode. OPen odin and flash stock firmware.
OK, tried it, display showed the same message until I released the buttons, then flashed the message every 4 seconds until disconnected.
OK, got it into download mode, reflashed twrp, now it's in a boot loop. Will continue working this.
It took a few tries, but I not only got everything working, I restored my data backup and upgraded to Android 10. Thanks all!

HOW DID YOU DO THIS, I HAVE THE EXACT SAME ISSUE AND AFTER HOURS OF SEARCHING YOU'RE THE ONLY OTHER PERSON WHO'S HAD THIS ISSSUE. PLEASE HELP, I CANNOT GET INTO DOWNLOAD MODE NO MATTER WHAT I DO
My boy was having problems with the phone restarting randomly we got phone to check if there was an update and after it downloaded and began to install restarted and got stuck in the bootloop. I put in recovery mode it begins to try update fails at 28%. Pressing power+vol up shows an error. Pls educate me
try to boot into download mode (- and + volume and connect to pc when phone reboot) then flash latest stock ROM.
Thanks already done had to flash csc, instead of home csc to get it to complete and boot
