I was able to sideload Play Services, Play Store, and Account Manager on my new HD 8. However, I am unable to get Google Play Games to sync properly. When I load the Profile page, it keeps trying to load. And when trying to sync the account in a game to get saved progress, it says authentication failed. Any suggestions?
Thanks!

Try it to deregister your Fire tablet from Amazon account and reboot.
Wrong forum, this forum is Fire 7

I was looking at getting this, but then I heard that, even though its Android based, it doesn't have the standard apps (maps, gmail, etc.) and it doesn't have Google Play allowing you to download apps...? Thanks.

Amazon wants you to stay in their own ecosystem. You will need to root your kindle fire HD in order install the google play store and to properly install some of the other google apps. The play store however is not a 100% sure way that all apps can be downloaded because it will still tell you on some apps that "this device isn't supported" so you will still have to side load anyways.

Hello all, I'm running the newest software 11.3.2.4 from Amazon. My fastboot cable arrived today, so I rooted the device using KSuite from www.KFSOWI.com. The program also installed a large number of Google applications as well. Now when I open up Clash of Clans, it crashes when the loading bar is completely filled. I only rooted the device to save my progress on my game with Google Plus. Anything thoughts how I can get the game to sync? Google Play, plus, and Gmail opens fine, and I plan on loading a custom rom after syncing the game. Thanks!
Clash of Clans crashes
Were you ever able to find a solution for this? I have a similar scenario, I installed the google apks needed to run Gmail on a Kindle HD (2012). I can login to gmail but Clash of Clans crashes.
Thanks,

I run Clash of Clans on Kindle Fire HD tablets (both 8.9 and 7" versions). I installed google after rooting using the instructions at:
http://androidcowboy.com/2013/04/install-google-play-store-on-kindle-fire-hd/
Note - There is another issue currently going on with play services. See post at http://forum.xda-developers.com/kin...google-play-services-7-3-28-stopping-t3086528
Thanks for the reply. I had found those instructions and was able to login to Google Play and Google +. I did this with my son's Google + account so he was able to save his Clash of Clans which was my main concern. That way his village is saved and he can always lync his village to another device.
I did have to root the Kindle as you mentioned. I used these instructions:
Link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2069117
At least everything was working long enough to lync his Google + account to Clash of Clans. So his game is being saved.
I did have to uninstall the Google Play Services after it upgraded itself to 7.2.39 a few days later as the thread on your second lync indicates. I'll wait and see if there's a solution for that.
Hello!
I recently inherited a 4th gen Kindle Fire HD 7 and it's cool, but I currently use Google Play Books to read, but unfortunately, I cannot get it to work on the Fire. I have tried a method on Gizmag (can't post link) but it still doesn't work. I was able to get Google Play Music to work. Everything installs fine, except Play Books continually says "no connectivity". I've tried resetting and installing everything again and my date and time are correct.
Any suggestions or methods to get Google Play Books working on a 4th gen Fire?
Thanks,
Jacob
So I have one of the $49 Kindle Fires and I have successfully installed Google Play, Play Services, Account Managements, and Services Framework and gotten everything to work. One of the games my kids enjoy playing is Disney Crossy Road. I know this is in the Amazon App Store, but one of the issues with it being in Amazon is they don't save progress, plus I use my account across my kids devices. If I make each kid a Google account, they have their own cloud save for the game. I got this all working on my daughter's Fire and it syncs with her Google Play account.
We just recently purchased my son one of the $49 Kindle Fires and I tried to do the same thing for him. I used Method #2 found here: lifehacker[dot]com/how-to-get-google-play-on-a-kindle-fire-and-install-any-1790706649 to install Google Play on his Kindle. I have installed 4 games from Google Play on his Kindle including Tiny Tower, Township, and Disney Crossy Road. I have the settings to allow non-Amazon apps to run. Tiny Tower and Township sync up with his Google Play account with no problem. But his Disney Crossy Road does not sync with Google Play. Google Play says it is installed and I can click the Play button from it and it will open the app, but none of the achievements pop, and when I open it on my daughter's Kindle, in the settings, there is a button with the gamepad icon to show it's synced. I cannot get this icon to show on my son's Fire. I have reinstalled the app 4-5 times and rebooted the tablet. I even tried downloading the app from apkmirror.com to see if that would help, but I cannot get it to work.
Are there any suggestions on how I can get Disney Crossy Road to sync with Google Play? Thanks for your help!
"Google Play" is a whole suite of different apps, not all of which are installed by default when you sideload the "Google Play Store".
Open up the Google Play Store, and search for "Google Play Games". Install that, and see if your games start syncing then?
EDIT: This is what I'm talking about:

If you can't install Google Play Games from the Play Store (-505 error) grab a copy from APKMirror and sideload.

Wow, I swore I responded yesterday but I also have Google Play Games installed. I am able to see his achievements for other games through this, that is how I know his other games are syncing properly. Any other ideas?

Not at the individual app level - sorry.
So I was playing around with this a little more and went into the Google Settings app. Inside here, there is a link for the Connected Apps section and I noticed Disney Crossy Road is not here. Any ideas if there is a way through here that I can try to enable the connection?
Thanks again!

The app must request access (typically on initial launch)...and you must grant it. There is no mechanism for auto-authorization or forcing a manual request (obvious acuity implications).
So I got it to work last night! I don't know which of the two things did it, but I reinstalled the app again but this time in game, I set his age to 18. Then from Google Play, I said I wanted to record in game footage. After playing the intro level, it synced with Google Play. For my daughter's Fire,I put her actual age and it worked. That's why I'm not sure which change fixed it, but now it works! Thanks for your help and suggestions!

Not a "Google support" issue; it's a Fire vs Google Account chooser issue. I initially installed Google stuff via APKs and could not get Duo to work/login. I just factory restored my Fire 10 and used the Toolbox to un-Amazon and install Google. I can now login to Duo (but now I can't get Chrome from the Play store, ugh).
Google Duo Working on Amazon Fire HD 10 9th Gen
Just got Google Duo to work on my new Amazon Fire HD 10 9th gen.
Sideloaded Google Play Services and Store, then tried to install Google Duo from play store. Installed, but would not work. Removed the app, then tried to sideload latest APK. Would not install. Tried several other versions, still would not install. Removed all Google DUO APK versions, shut down tablet, and restarted. Downloaded Google Duo from store and it installed, loaded, and works fine now. Not sure why, but give it a try.
Note: I did download DUO Mobile app from play store by mistake, and installed. Don't think this helped in installing Google Duo as described above, but it was installed WHEN I tried to sideload previous versions of Google Duo APKs. Just to let you know.
Ok
