EMUI10 headphones high volume warning - Huawei P30 Pro Questions & Answers

Is there any way to reset this warning so it could be seen again? I've received a message at the very same moment this warning was displayed and I remember that it was a question - couldn't answer it or react in any way and I have no idea how it is now or if it does have an impact on the headphones volume now - is it always reduced or what?
So... Is it possible to see this warning message again and decide again? Connecting/disconnecting headphones, rebooting etc. doesn't change anything - the volume slider goes all the way without any warning but is it because it's already reduced or because the phone doesn't ask again?

It's just a warning when you hit about 50% volume saying any higher could damage your hearing, nothing special

So you're sure that it wasn't a choice of some sort that could have impact on where is the global volume limit after that?

Turn the volume down to 0, connect your headphones and start turning it back up, it will probably show again, it's just a warning nothing more

Doesn't happen, unfortunately.

Well then you're one of the lucky ones, it's super annoying to happen every time you connect headphones

Haha, I guess that's just Huawei's way of dealing with it Anyway - I'm not going to reinstall the system just to see this message but I'm just curious what it said and if it could have an impact on future volume level as I think it's kinda disappointing as it is now. It's pretty quiet from 0 to 60% and then it's a sudden increase but the quality is rather poor. Same headphones with previous phone (also Huawei) were working perfectly but that one had minijack - now it's through usb-c to minijack adapter.
Guess I'll never know.

Heh, okay, thanks - I've got this message everytime on Motorola too but on previous phone with EMUI it was once and it never came back but it was EMUI4 and I was just curious if they changed this in any way or not.
But, as it's just curiosity, I'll live with how it is Thanks for your involvement.

:good:

Get a HTC or Hidisz adapter with built in DAC. The difference in volume and quality is insane.

@kradcliffe could you recommend some specific one or is there a place to read more about recommended ones?

I have both of them. The Hidisz is the best if you can get a hold of it.

Hey, you got a good point about adapters, thanks, I will try this out.
About the topic question, normally its just a system message, normally, it shouldn't reduce volume. I had the same type of message at my old speakers always even it was not too loud just music was too quiet until I didn't buy new ones with the recommendation from the audio direct site what have detailed info about speakers and microphones. Now my headphones don't give any type of this message which is awesome. I advise you to visit this site if you want to choose a good headset.

Well - here is what I would do -
1. remove the battery and put it back in.
2. make sure that you have it plugged in - with it plugged in do you have any lights flashing?
3. My understanding from your post is that you have NO EVIDENCE of power on your phone whatsoever - meaning no lights - if so and what i have suggested to you does not work - then you will have to take it back to whom ever you purchased it from and hope the warranty works.
You did not indicate:
1. where you are located
2. who your carrier is
3. what you had on the phone before you flashed
4. what you tried to flash to
You also did not indicate if the phone was SPL'd before you flashed?
(Not that ANY of those things matter if you have no power on the phone as no recovery can occur if you really need a "resurrection"

No lights what so ever. It had SPL'd on it I flash a new rom and when it finish that was it. The carrier is Cingular in New Jersey. Also I bought it from a person, not from a store. I took the battery out over night and nothing, still no lights. I guess is dead. Thanks

That sound you hear is the fat lady singing I am afraid my friend.
I DOUBT it - but you COULD try a new battery or play around with touching the battery several times to the circuitry (I have seen this in some of the other threads that talk about battery issues and charging issues - hey what have you got to lose?)
Bill
Maybe use it to keep a door open or build a fancy mailbox that kids won't kit with a baseball bat.
Yeah the no lights is bad.
Be honest here. What did you try to flash? What ROM?

urgent please help -screen issue

Hello,
I've had my tilt for less than a year now. Today, my screen, when I turned it on, shook and while it was shacking, it was showing multiple lines on the screen. At the end, the screen was complete white. I can still make/receive calls, however, I wouldn't know what's going on since the screen was white. It seems to me it was a loose connection???? It got me extremely worried. I took off the battery, made a hard-reset, tried to physically move the screen, non worked. all of a sudden, the screen was fine. Later today, it happened again.
Can anyone please explain this problem to me and how to fix it. I would really appreciate that...
Thank you
Not sure what "shacked" means.
But given you are under 1 year, you probably have a warranty. Would be best to try and get a warranty exchange.
To have you dig around inside checking connection and voiding your warranty, would not be wise with an active warranty.

Ok, Find mikechannon's disassembly guides and wiggle all your connections. Sounds like a loose connection to me.
Hello,
Thanks for the reply, I dismantaled my device and made sure all the connections are fine. The problem still appears....
Ok Next Thing it, The LCD panel is "dieing" you will probably need to replace it.

oh damn
I noticed that when it happens, if I touched the OK and the end call button together, it would sometimes solve the issue. I would have to do it several times though. Is that any hint? are there screen related connections underneath those buttons?
Thank you for your continuing support, much appreciated!
OK, I've noticed that once I click on the call button, the white screen shows up. As I said, I dismantled my device and checked all the connections. However, I didn't go further than the 15th page, i didn't go further because I though that it wasn't necessary.. That's the websites of the tutorial I followed:

So the two connections I made sure they are properly in was the small and big one only like in the picture below....

Those connections you have pointed out in those pictures are the keyboard ribbon connections....I think you might have to dismantle a bit further to get to the screen.

OK, I went further and was able to see the screen ribbon. I made sure the connections are in tight. However, after putting everything back, the problem still persist. Now, I'll be more than happy to buy a new screen IF it solves the problem... Please correct me if i'm wrong, doesn't seem more like a connection problem; maybe the chip that holds the ribbon cable is loose? In this case, it would need soldering???
Moreover, I noticed that the screen ribbon is underneath the talk button. Like I said before, touching the talk button solves the white screen*. Isn't that more proof that its not a screen issue?
I am very grateful for any advice...
Thank you
* Before completely dismantling the phone, it used to be touching the talk button brings the white screen problem, now its the opposite

BIG Problem with Xperia

hello
I have got a problem with my xperia, the top bar shows that my stereo headset is connected but is not...therefore, i cant hear anyone who is trying to call me or i call anyone.. i have been in a vodafone store and they could not find a solution, i also have done hard reset and is still the same... now im about to flash new rom. would that be a solution or any of you got different?
please help me, thanks in advance
try connecting headset again but give it a wiggle about, not too much also try pulling it out and puting it back in quickly several times in a row. be carefull.
i tried that already, not working
after a hard reset i can only assume it's a hardware fault, so i would go get it fixed because if you flash a new rom that will invalidate your waranty.
do that in the FMradio application
thank you guys, i also think that i should return it for vodafone service..
i tried in fmradio and still no working
sorry to hear that. good luck with that
last time that annoying thing happened to me i had to go to the htc HD fm radio app and plug and unplug the offical 3.5 connector to make it work( try plugging->listen to radio->set output to speakers-> then unplug)
a bunch of questions:
-what rom are you using
-did you try different 3.5 connectors
-is the earphone that caused the problem low quality?
the last time this happened to me i used the stylus and just waggled about for ages and ages and eventually the sensor registered that the headphones weren't plugged in.
do a search as plenty of people have had the exact same problem ...
good luck !
yes - just waggle the stylus around in it until it goes - worked for me
thank you..the thing with stylus works, hopefully but its still anoying to do that every time i put my headset
i have got an original vodafone uk rom
yes, i have tried many different headsets
the quality is fine
I have the exact same problem on my 4 month old X1, and now i dont rly know how hard i should wiggle with the stylus...

try waggling and then try inserting the headphones a few times and taking them out too
I've had the same prob for a week now.
After reading up on other HTC phones with the same issue I've found that what went wrong was a little hardware switch inside the jack failed to reset to its off position when the headphones where removed.
To locate the switch:
Turn the phone onto back so that the screen is facing upwards. The switch is at the 4-5 o'clock position if you look directly at the headphone jack, at around 1cm in.

I inserted a small pin which was bent a little at the end to relative position I have described and after I felt it snag just gave it a small wiggle. When doing this I noticed the headphone icon would disappear for a second and return.
This is how I knew I was in the correct position. Then I gave it a good twist.
(I think anti clockwise, but you will know from which direction worked when you wiggled)
The headphone icon disappeared for good and now I'm back to normal phone use!
(Do this at your own risk! But its more precise than sticking the stylus in blind)

DO NOT RETURN IT. This happened to me once, and ONLY once after using the phone for like 6 months. I soft reset and nothing happened.
There is something wrong with the way the device toggled the connection. Just replug and unplug and press play and pause on your video/music player. It should purge sooner or later.
You can also hard reset your device you will find that the problem will most likely purge.
@Charcobeans: Thanks, it worked within 5 seconds Thats just the instructions I searched for. Waggling around did not work, but more precise it was easy. Thanks!

[Q] Ghost touches; bad grounding; static charge

Hello,
I've been having problems with the touchscreen lately. Everytime it is not 'grounded' via my PC USB cable, whenever I try to put two fingers horizontally or vertically they seems to disrupt each other ie:
http://i.imgur.com/ASwFmhw.jpg
This doesn't happen when:
1. USB connected to the PC. (seems to have the best result)
2. I hold the phone with my hands and it doesn't lie on a flat surface. (still ghost touches when I align 3 or more fingers in certain position)
3. It is hooked to a decent charger with proper grounding.
Seems like there is some kind of static charge leftovers or something that disrupts the multitouch in horizontal and vertical positions. Any way to permanently get rid of such static electricity? Or is it literally 'leaking' somewhere from within the device and the only thing I can do is RMA?
People on the MIUI forums reported similar problems but only while charing the device with improper chargers.
if You have root try adding persist.usb.hvdcp.detect=true to build.prop, always take a backup before changing anything, see if that helps

Tried, didn't work. The issues seems hardware based. The grounding of static electricity is simply broken inside the phone and there is no way to fix it other than to disassemble and see what is wrong.
Thanks anyway.

That's just a bad filtered charger, I own a 2A charger which is bad filtered, i hear the mains hum in my earbuds when connected to the phone while charging with this one, ghost touches and random taps included.
And then I have another 2 chargers, one is 1A, which came with my MI3 and the other one is a 750mA Nokia AC-20E which came with Lumia 520. None of these two make ghost touches or hum from mains. All depends on their filtration circuit quality. Try some other charger, for instance some Samsung charger and see if the phone is usable then.

I RMA'd the phone, the technician stated that a change of the touch panel was done.
Alas, the problem persists. I specifically said that there is a grounding problem yet they only service the touch panel. I am quite furious right now.
Waited almost a month for them to do exactly nothing with it.
I too hv this issue why is it anyone knws or hv solution for it?
i m facing this problem even when phone is not connected to usb...and when i restart it problem solved for some time and then again continues ...any solutions found ? one plus one also got this problem

I need the data from a dead/bricked Huawei P9 for work (Black Screen) Help pls!

Hello,
I was asked by my boss to retrieve the data from a not working Huawei P9 if possible.
Following scenario:
A coworker attached his phone via USB to his laptop. The phone restarted two times but he didnt think its a problem.
Next day he thinks its a good idea to restart his phone because it seemed a bit laggy but after turning it of (restarting) the phone doesnt
turn on anymore. No lights, no nothing. If you plug it into the pc you can still hear the "new device attached" sound and can also hear this sound
when pressing the power button and volume down button for about 10 seconds. There is also no charging light when connecting it to the pc.
I repaired some phones before but most of the times it was just hardware stuff which wasnt a problem. I talked to a repair shop that told me
the battery is probably ok and the memory/data has to be read out of the phone and that would cost at least 200€.
Is there anything else I can do?
The phone is a stock Huawei P9. Nothing changed or flashed ever. The data would be crucial for me and my work colleagues.
Thank you!
Here is a screenshot of what my device manager on windows looks like. I installed a driver for the phone I downloaded online with driver signature turned off.. Thats everything I got so far.

You could check with DC Phoenix, Ministry of Solutions and Chimera - describe them a problem and ask if they can help to retrieve data.
It's probably a hardware issue, and you will not be asking to unbrick (if really a hardware problem, even if you succeed to get it booting again, it could happen again) but just to retrieve data.
With DC and Chimera, you will have to work on your own, just to play for their tools (but it will be cheaper then Huawei service shop).
Ministry of solutions might be even cheaper but they will probably want to work with remote access to your PC - maybe asking you first to open back cover and to short-wire for Test points pins.
Might be best bet for you, but you must consider the security concerns for such a remote access work (at the end of the day, if you bring phone to the service shop, you can also only trust them regarding the data they find on the phone)
