Stereo Speakers During Calls - Google Pixel 4 XL Questions & Answers

Hi there!
I was wondering if the earpiece speaker was supposed to work when you activate speaker mode during a call.
Currently I only get sound coming out from the bottom firing speaker during calls. I find the call quality and volume of the calls lacking because both speakers don't work in tandem.
I have a Pixel 4XL and just got it new out of the box yesterday. I use speakerphone a lot during conference calls and this is annoying.
Cheers! :good:

Been this way since Pixel 2.

Do other stereo phones even output speakphone to both speakers?

X1 has 3 Speakers !??

Hey Guys
I found out something interesting. I downloaded this freeware audio routing software for using the earpiece for sip softwares like skype which normally send their autput audio through the loudspeaker and not the normal speaker for calls.
http://www.teksoftco.com/storage/download.php?product=audioroute_ppc
now the interesting thing is that this software has 3 possible speaker choices
one is the internal the other the external and speakerphone that when is activated u hear music from xperia in a greeat quality and really high volume. It sound like stereo speakers. I am really wondering how many speakers has xperia? and why normally the music doesnt come out like this but in a very low quality. ???
suggestions welcome

Most likely two...the ear piece speaker and the speaker phone speaker.
I don't think there's an internal speaker like on the Ipod Nano.
so, your'e saying that you found a way to enhance the inside speaker??
Cool !
For as far as i heard, there is a mono speaker built in, and there where plans to make it stereo..
I just gave this a try, it does produce sound from the ear piece speaker on one of the settings and while it is a much better quality sound it is far too quiet to make a difference or to listen to, you actually need to put the phone to your ear to hear it.
Shame, I was hoping it would flesh out the poor sounding loudspeaker
This guy didn't find 3 speakers.

I also had my xperia taken apart and couldn't see any other speakers. you can't always trust a software. if its programmed to say there are three speakers it will say there are three. also you have to look with which phones it is compatible

ok now try this
leave a song playing and from the software change from earpiece to speaker phone (The order is VERY important) so first put the audio to play in ur earpiece(first icon) then put it into the speakerphone (last icon) and u will hear a very loud music in a good quality. then if u change to the second icon u will hear the normal very low quality.
there is a huuuge difference

Ok, will give it a try later, so in theory it will be playing from both the ear piece and the loudspeaker, with the ear piece giving it a bit more oomph.
Will this work with the ring tone too???
This could be the final piece of the puzzle to make my Xperia perfect
Not true.

Ok that does it ...
The first thing when i get home is to make a video and upload it on youtube ... till later
this app is very bad...can't shut it down, speaker on and stuck there.
edit: okay, to shut it down you have to press the first icon and the little bar below is for moving it around.
the last icon did play with both speakers on. there is no 3rd speaker. first icon for the earpiece, second icon for speakerphone, and last icon for both. IT DOESN'T MAKE A BIG DIFF. Can you hear the earpiece loud? NO...

Strange ... for me it does ... but u have to pass from the earpiece (first icon) to the last icon ... and another icon will appear telling that speakerphone is ON and during this time the music is really much louder and in a much better quality.
like i said...the last icon is playing with both earpiece and speaker on. that's it.
Would the incall volume of the ear piece speaker make a difference...mind is set to the lowest so maybe when the sound is played through the ear piece that's why it's quiet.
What incall volume are you guys phones set too
carefull, you can burst your earpiece speaker with this.

hmm actually i dont think so ... because the higher volume doesnt come from the earpiece but from the normal output sound... only that is amplified and much better quality

Agreed, but there are only two speakers. Earpiece and mono loudspeaker.
The HTC Touch Pro2 has 3 speakers.
actually im thinking there might be three ... the one which is mono might have 2 speakers inside one low quality for music and ringtones and another good quality for loudspeaker during calls ... and is activated only when using loudspeaker during a call ... (u will see the same icon and notification that speakerphone is active)
but i really like the sound ... is like my laptop

[Q] Hissing noise in headphones?

Hey guys,
I've been using an HTC One for two weeks now, and was really looking forward to using it as a music-listening device. However, whenever I'm listening to music on a low volume setting through headphones I can hear a hissing sound that gets louder and softer as the music changes. Since then, I have tested this with another HTC One, various headphones, and have come to the conclusion that something inside the phone is causing noise. As soon as I open up the 'Music' app or any application that turns on the headphone jack, I can hear the hissing. It's very noticeable when listening to music at night in the lower volume settings. The same files I'm listening to have no noise on my blackberry or on my iPod.
Any thoughts?
Thanks.
I can only suggest you exchange for another unit. Yup... I saw that you said you had tried another One.
I came from Nexus 4. My first Nexus 4 had a defective earpiece and the same hissing noise you described from the headphone jack. Did a RMA with Google, and the second Nexus 4 had a perfect earpiece but still some hissing noise from the headphone jack. I didn't want to bother with the RMA process again so I just lived with it.
Then I got my HTC One. Sound quality is miles better than the Nexus 4 and I hear no hissing noise from the headphone jack.
While the chance is slim, it is possible to get defective unit twice in a row. The hissing noise is probably due to in proper shielding or poor wiring inside the phone.

Hi,
Try turning off beats audio and see if it still happens.

I would agree with gustav30. I have noticed this recently, but it only happens when I am toggling the beats audio on and off. I think it might have something to do with the different audio qualities depending on what type of thing you are doing i.e. streaming music, listening to downloaded music, watching YouTube, etc..
Its beats audio. Turn it off and the hissing decreases. You will always have some hissing though no matter what phone and headphones you have.
Beats lowers this hiss, but its still there.
This hiss exists for all android devices I've used and heard when using high sensitivity IEMs.
Considering going back to apple... *sigh*
Has anyone here experienced prominent crackling sound listening to music at full volume when using HTC headphones supplied with the phone ?
I tried using the same headphones on One X but no crackling sound or even on the computer.
It does dis for all the songs I play at full volume on HTC ONE. (it does reduce the crackling noise if I turn off the beats audio).
So wut do u think cud be the problem ?
The headphones, the phones hardware or the beats audio.

Speaker phone volume

Hello, i want to know more about the xperia z. I want to know if the speaker with which i recieve the voice of the person i am speaking to , is very loud or very low quality in outputting sound.
So again the loud speaker is the speaker in which a person uses to make their calls right?
It differs from the Loudspeaker which is the speaker used to play music sounds or when the phone ringtone is played, it is played from the loud speaker not the speaker phone.
The speaker phone is the speaker used in duration of a call time or when i call someone the remote persons voice is sent through the speaker phone and NOT the loud speaker.
The speaker phone is kept near the ear during a call. Did you know that.
Anyway, that speaker phone during a call, is it loud enough or is it very low like the iNew i6000+ octa core or goophone S4 max phone.
I want the loudest speaker phone and loud speaker volumes.
The ringtone should be high and the viberation should be good and not very low.
During a call i must hear the person talking to me, loudly and not very low volume
.
I should be able to adjust the volume using built in software controlls for the speaker phone.
Is that ok on the xperia z, or should i go for the iphone 4 or 3Gs instead of sony xperia z?
:good:

How is your audio quality?

Hi guys, I've just received my new moto g and now I'm testing it.
I'm experiencing some kind of audio distortion/crackling noise coming from the ear speaker during calls.

Open google play music then go to settings and then equaliser
This will open audio effects
There preset effect would be bass punch or extreme bass
Change it to balanced or off
This will solve the issue
