I usually have a shortcut/widget for system sound on my home screen but cannot manage to get one on the 4xl. When I choose the "system" widget and drag to the screen it asks for which system menu I want and after I choose "sound" it fails to create the shortcut.
If I choose other system entries they work but sound doesn't. Is this a bug or am I missing something?

Strange. Works fine for me. Tried it on nova and pixel launchers

So I used the method of running minimalist buttons (black) and setting them up through Desktop Visulaizer and Astro file manager. I'm currently using LauncherPro Plus. The Phone and Message button goes directly to where there supposed to. The App button or "Widget drawer" does not, I have to have it set up as a "swipe to open" to have a functional App drawer. There was no opition for a "App drwaer launch" with using Desktop Visulaizer.
Does anybody have any idea on how to make this work where all I have to do is click the opition rather then having the swipe to launch?? Any help would be great.
I have provided a shot from using the Shoot Me App.
Thanks.
lwp - long press the app drawer, choose change icon, custom, yours....or am I missing something?
EDIT: Thank you PhoenixPath, I must have had a stupid spell, I took away the "app drawer" icon and replaced that...DUHHH, It has been fixed.

Although this isn't really an app developed solely for this purpose, I thought I could share it. This icon looks best on AOSP, but I gather it works on Sense. This is just an icon, not actual beats audio, and is aimed at AOSP users with DSP Manager.
Instructions:
1. Download an app called "Headset Icon" from the playstore. - Should be the first result.
2. Open the app, and navigate to the settings (wrench in the top right corner).
3. In the first text input line, write "Beats Audio On", and check the first checkbox (something along the lines of show icon when headset is plugged in). Then save.
4. Now exit the app and go to your favourite file explorer. Navigate to /data and create a file called "local.prop" - no quotation marks.
5. In this file, insert "sys.keep_app_1=com.devandroid.headseticon" - no quotations, and save. This will make sure your app does not get killed by any task killer.
6. Reboot your phone and enjoy!
For AOSP users only! (Optional)
1. Go to the settings once again, and in the second line, type in "Touch to Modify".
2. Then, click on "app for notification" and choose DSP Manager or whatever equaliser you use. (Now whenever you tap the icon, you go straight to your equalizer )
3. (CM10.2)Exit out of the app and go to the homescreen. Then go menu>System Settings>Home Screen>Drawer>Hidden Apps and choose Headset Icon. Hides the app from drawer to make it seem more legit.
And there you have it. Beats Audio Icon for AOSP and Sense!

Nice
I just installed cm-11-20141022-UNOFFICIAL-w7-LG-D415 and would like to customize two things on my phone.
1. I would like to close the messenger so that when I unlock the screen, it isn't the first thing I see. I like to open my messages when I feel it's time to open them and not have to deal with them until I'm ready for them.
2. I would like to kill Yahoo Weather. I don't want it running every time I reboot my phone. If I want weather info, I can use my browser to get the info.
As a first time user of CM; I'm very impressed. With a little more TLC on my phone; I'm sure I'll be a very happy camper because of it.
Thanks to all of you who put more than a few tons of effort into this,
Jim

It may be that you're not swiping straight across the screen. There are 5 targets on your lock screen, and it just so happens that the messenger app target is just above the home screen target. I've attached a screen shot of my lock screen targets as an example. If you press and hold your unlock icon, the targets will display. Just swipe to the target you wish to open. How fast or slow you swipe doesn't matter as long as you stay in contact with the screen, you're golden!
You can disable the Yahoo weather info on your lock screen with the following steps:
- Open SETTINGS in app drawer
- Select LOCK SCREEN
- select CLOCK SETTINGS
- select DISPLAY WEATHER
- select button to turn off
- Exit using the BACK ICON located on top left of screen. Don't use the back key or your change may not be saved. I have attached screen shots for reference.
Enjoy! The devs on this phone are extremely helpful!

I tried your steps for Yahoo weather and didn't see a CLOCKS SETTINGS in LOCK SCREEN. No problem because just disabling the clock app fixed the problem.
The "Hold and Swipe" is a nice feature. I wonder if it can be customized.
Is there an easy way to turn the speaker phone on?
Thanks,
Jim

jran0880's steps, #3 "CLOCK SETTINGS" should be "Clock widget". There you'll find 3 entries, "Clock and alarm", "Weather panel", and "Calendar events". Select either on of those to manage it's settings.
Also, jran0880 is correct. The messaging app does NOT automatically show when unlocking the lock screen.
The targets can be customized. In your lock sceen settings, there's the option to Slider Shortcuts. Choose that and swipe to the one you wish to change. Tap the icon to change it and select the app name to change the app. If the app you want is not listed, press "apps" at the top of that list to show all your apps.
The speaker phone is located on lower left of your in call screen. 2nd icon from the left.
I did a reset on the Lock Screen and that made things just "peachy keen".
As for the weather and lock screen, etc.; there's no Clock Widget when I open Settings, Lock Screen. If this helps, I installed the Pico-GApps. Not sure if that makes a difference.

For every app I install, a shortcut is automatically added to a home screen. It's not a huge deal since it takes a second to delete, but I'm curious if there's a way to prevent this happening and just have the shortcut in the app drawer? I cannot find anything in the settings to turn of the "feature".

why don't you check google play settings ? there is a checkbox for that (checked on by default)

Go to the Play Store -> Settings and uncheck Add icon to Home screen.
Duh... I totally forgot about the play settings! There I was looking in the phone/launcher settings. Thanks.
Ahoi!
Finaly I installed Xposed, but now I'm facing a problem:
When I set my preferred MicrosoftLauncher, it shows only until I press Home or Backbutton from other apps or reboot.
Then again the launcher/homescreen falls back to stock Launcher3.
The dialog, asking for default launcher does not show.
Same Problem, when choosing Launcher from settings, as when starting MicrosoftLauncher by app icon.
The dialog however shows, when I choose the "set-default" option in the MicrosoftLauncher settings – but the setting only persists until reboot.
Any suggestions how to set and keep my launcher settings?
problem persists

Problem is still there – any solution or hint?
I'm almost about to write some kind of script, that manualy switches to MS-Launcher after boot – does any1 know, where default launcher is stored in config-files – maybe it'd be enough to just insert the right value while init at boot…
bump…
