i have a xiaomi mi 9 phone with xiaomi.eu miui 12 operating system
lately i have enabled volte and vowifi and used a shortcut to mbn loader to change the settings that allow me to use volte and vowifi
the problem i am facing is: vowifi will connect only while on wifi 5 or wifi 6 networks (802.11ac/802.11/ax)
if i connect to wifi4 which is 802.11n, it wont connect to vowifi. other phones like huawei p20 pro do.
is there a way to modify this behavior to make the mi 9 use vowifi on wifi4 networks?
update:
i have found that if i am connected to a 802.11n network and i toggle on the wifi hotspot on my mi9, it will enable vowifi and keep it on even if i toggle off the hotspot. it remains until i disconnect from that network
Anyone who owns the Chinese version of the mi 11 ultra can test it out?
I got 5g enabled in the settings, confirmed selected in the dialer menu *#*#4636#*#* top bars say 5G and an HD symbol on its left which I confirmed is Vo-lte...
Issue is it's not really 5g but LTE or 4g, how I came to this conclusion was by running various apps/ simultaneous 5g speed tests on both this phone and an older Huawei phone I got..
Mi 11 ultra caps at 140+- dl speeds
Huawei caps at 500+- dl speeds
Provider runs 5g on band n78 which is supported by both phones..
Can running the Eu ROM fix this issue for me?

Thanks for forwarding me there, guess all I can do is try it out and hope for the best otherwise a 12gb/512 is up for sale
n78 is 3.5 GHz 5G band (is wiiide band, is not a 600hz band lmao) Your phone preferred to stay connected to 5G bands more than 4G bands.
Try to switch to 4G network preferred
And check it out your actual speed on 4G
(Huawei supports more bands than xiaomi...due to different processor which is Kirin)

Hello
I have a problem with 5G network, it's always connected, but the speed is slow, so I download 3rd party app and I found that actually I'm connected to 4G network, but the crazy thing in navbar it's still 5G.
So the problem is : if you connected to 4G or 5G network, it will appear that you are connected to 5G network.
I used to have this problem also in Find X2 Pro.
Both of devices are Malaysian version .
Already contacted with OPPO and they say you must take backup and bring your phone to us.
Anyone facing this problem ?

If the 5G network is available in your area you will get a good speed.
Hi. I want to use my poco m3 pro 5g as a cheap home 5g wifi router. Is there a way to force this phone to only connect to 5g and not fallback to 4g/LTE etc?
Thank you in advance.

u can use dialer type *#*#3646633#*#*
in band mode i can choose sim1/sim2 than there are so many bands to choose included only 5g
easy way is go to Settings > About phone > All specs > tap Internal storage multiple times > Phone information (1 or 2 depend on your sim) > change NR/LTE/GSM/WCDMA to NR only
Thank you very much.
*#*#4636#*#*
Set NR only
If I do this is in my iqoo 7 it perfectly staying in 5g but i can't make call or recieve the call... please help

I had the same issue yesterday with the Three Ireland network. Couldn't receive or make calls or texts until I switched to 3G/4G also.
I have the same issue now. The "*#*#4636#*#*" method doesn't work, my Pixel 6 phone defailt back to LTE/LTE+. This is disappointing here because at this remote location there is only the one tower. It supports 5G, and when the phone (randomly but infrequently) connects using 5G, download speed is 10X faster. Ahhh technology, copyright and proprietary OS's...
My OnePlus 10 Pro Indian model doesn't seem to get the jio sim to enable 5g.
But my mi11 ultra works on 5g in the same area.
Tried resetting still the same
Can someone guide me if there is any process needed to be done to get the jio 5g to work
Am running the latest oxygen OS
5g takes time to get activated on the jio sim
It wasn't the phones problem
