The price is good, but my primary worry is that this phone won't have factory images available or be safe to root even if the bootloader gets unlocked after a sim unlock.
I also wouldn't expect any ability to convert to an international firmware even if the modem portions are retained.

Well there is a better chance for unlocking the BL than the samsung note 10 ...

T-Mobile chat told me they aren't leaving the warehouse until Friday. I think he's wrong, as all other preorders deliver by launch date, but I haven't seen any movement yet.

I even paid extra for expedited shipping. It will suck to watch people walk out of the store with them on Friday while I wait till the middle of next week...
First Pre orders should be shipping out Thursday and delivered Friday on launch day. Check your bank account. TMobile will charge your card once your phone is ready to ship out. My card was charged a few hrs ago and pre order was placed on the first day.

When they ship it to you the IMEI for that phone is assigned to your account. They won't let you check out another device until you receive the first one. It's a hassle. I paid for next day
UPS shipping notification, delivery Friday. Excited about this McLaren addition.
I ordered mine on Tuesday evening via T-Mobile help on Twitter. Even transferred money into my account in case it charged early. My card was charged late on the 3rd and transaction was completed on the 4th. Hopefully I will get an update from UPS later today and so get the email update from T-Mobile with my imei. My order is a JOD upgrade. I got overnight shipping. I would have went into a store but I have to work 10-8 tomorrow do I can't get to a store.
I sure hope they ship them out tonight.
Edit: I just checked my UPS app and it is showing.

You're right, I would have just added it to another line on account and popped my sim in, returned to sender. Just put it on credit card.

Mine says 10:45 am to 1:45 pm. Good thing my wife works from home. She's even going to work in the living room so she can see the driver when he/she comes up on the porch. 99.9% of the time, they arrive sometime closer to 6 or 7 or later.
My daughter's iPhone on Halloween last year was supposed to arrive by 1:30, it got delivered at almost 9pm. I'm not paying $8 for the 2 hour delivery window, that from everything I have read and heard, also gets missed.
Once it arrives, I will be impatiently waiting for time to clock out and get home.
I really, really want this phone but the high chance of not being able to flash the international firmware is why I'm not going to do it.

Not sure but I ordered mine from T-Mobile on Friday as well with free shipping and by Friday evening I had a tracking number for delivery tomorrow (Monday). I ordered it around 3:00pm ET. I ordered it in person at one of the stores.
I went on Saturday and they said they had sold out all 40! I couldn't believe it. My friend, who is on T-Mobile, went with me. I am on AT&T. We ordered one and they said the 28th which also shocked me. I have to ask my friend what the status is. I will bother him every day until I get it. Lol! Hopefully before the 28th.

I ordered mines Thursday the 16th in store around noon, didn't receive tracking untill Saturday, ground shipping will be here in California on Thursday the 24th...
I use to work at ups in downtown Los Angeles, from my understanding UPS don't open on Sundays, so tmobile might print your shipping label or have your package ready to ship today, maybe.. But ups won't get their hands on it until earliest Monday.

T-Mobile sent me a text message with tracking before UPS even picked it up. Not sure if that is standard procedure or not but that was my experience.

I really suggest that you forget about keeping track of yorur order online. During the Pre-Order release, very few people had their online orders updated - even after the shipment had been sent.
Personally - my online order sheet/receiept - said processing for 1 week after I got the phone - and in fact I got an email from Tmobile three days after I got my phone that my NOte 4 was shipped.
I don't knwo why - but the online system for reporting and tracking from TMOBILE has had issues - your best bet is to go to UPS and setup an account for "My UPS" then try to track the package with your shipping address. - that is what many people did with the PREODER - and it was much more reliable than waiting for notice from TMOBILE -
Regardless of what you do - good luck and I hope you get your NEW NOTE SOON -it is an awesome phone!
You can also try tracking by reference number using your phone number. That is the only thing that worked for me. Despite having my name in the shipping address they actually shipped it to my company name and those won't show up on myups.

That's cuz tmobile and anyone actually, that has an account with UPS can print their own UPS labels. But ups don't process any shipments on Sundays. I can't say the same about Tmobile warehouses not working on Sundays though I have no idea about them.
Do what some people suggested and sign up for free ups account. You can receive text messages from ups everytime there is an update on the movement of your package. They will text you when it's been shipped or if there is a delay.

I am in exactly the same boat. Waiting on Amazon to see if they list as a pre order before launch date. Obviously running out of time.
I am toying with the idea of buying through three on a pay monthly and then cancelling the contract and paying it off. Need to do more digging on this but think you get a 20% discount to pay off early which makes it under £700 (I think)

I plan to call Three to get this clarified and see how much it comes up to after cancelling. I am hoping you can still keep the headphones and that it doesn't affect the credit ratings

Just finished speaking to Three about the contract and they say, it needs to be paid in full of the remaining contract period. So, I did the math and even for the cheapest plan they have, it comes up to £940 (£99 upfront + £35x24), which is £140 more than buying it sim free.
Can't decide if I want to pay that much extra money for a dual SIM variant...

I think you should get 20% discount to cancel. It's mentioned in their terms...
"Lump sum equivalent to the total of the Monthly
Charges remaining during the Minimum Term of your
agreement less a variable discount, currently 20%. We
reserve the right to vary the amount of the percentage
discount from time to time."

Hi daz_2000,
Yes, I did check the same terms and conditions on their site after speaking to the customer assistant, who clearly mislead me in the first place.
After checking the terms and conditions and having spoken to an another customer assistant, he confirmed that the lump sum is less 20% of the remaining contract.
So, I have now ordered a P20 Pro from Three, as I am losing patience and it seems the best deal to get a dual SIM in the UK with the free headphones
Looking forward to getting the phone on Friday

That's great. I haven't received any confirmation yet. I placed the order over the phone. Called them yesterday chasing for the confirmation and they said I shall get it all tomorrow morning. I hope they don't mess up with the confirmation on pre-order bit by sending it all tomorrow.

I ordered Tuesday from three and I'm still waiting for confirmation.
Three told me they haven't got stock from Huawei yet. But they still said I would get phone latest Monday.

Argh... Typical Pre-order frustrations!! Last time I experienced it was when I pre-ordered Nexus 6P (by Huawei).

Problem is in my experience you don't hear anything till about 10pm the evening before delivery (when a dispatch/delivery notice comes through) no way of telling before then, even calling in gets mixed results!.
I'm just resigned to getting it whenever, problem is i'm super impatient as my s9 sucks (battery and call issues).

I called three again. They confirmed mine will be out for delivery tomorrow and I'll get a text in morning with delivery slot. Not holding my breath. But fingers crossed!

What did the terms of your purchase agreement state? Did it state you will be charged once it ships? I've had all my Notes new from when they first have been released, and it has meant very little the date when my bank was charged. I've learned to not keep my hopes up with this stuff.
I purchased it on August 11th so I hope it's good news that my card was just charged today. Who knows of course when it will ship but I'm hopeful to have it Monday, LOL

I have received confirmation from a source that the devices are being shipped out on Monday. Not a day sooner. Some folks will receive in hand on the 21st, others will continue to receive after that day up to actual release day. All pre-orders WILL NOT ship out on the same day.
My card was just charged. When I ordered it from T-Mobile the rep said they wouldn't charge me until it ships. Hopefully I'll have it on Monday.

They'll all get picked up tomorrow. If you paid for overnight shipping, you should receive it by Tuesday or Wednesday depending on where it's being shipped out from.

At this moment I thought I'll have to wait for next sale. But I opened my laptop for last chance and kept refreshing the page. I saw the phone a couple of times in stock again(preorder), but same thing happened(before finishing payment, it was out of stock).
I told myself that ill just check tomorrow morning because I didn't expect this phone to go out of stock that easily, but I underestimated the number of people buying this phone (or overestimated the stock Asus has )
Still I thought ill give this a last chance and kept refreshing, and around 12.24AM, I saw it again in stock, and completed my payment.
I also had a riding helmet of 2k in my cart which I wanted to buy. So I got total of 4k discount on cart value of 40k using ICICI card. So overall I got the phone for around 34.2k which is a great deal I think.
Asus has not actually announced next sale date. They just have said that the phone will be released(shipped) on 8th Oct. Gadgets360 confirmed this from Asus(check their article), so not sure when is the next sale going to be and same is the case with 12GB variant.

I thought the same but I saw another offer which said if your cart total is 40k then you get discount of another 2k (separate than the 10% maxed at 2k). So total of 4k.
Phone was anyways of 38k, so I just added another item that I wanted to buy anyways. Got total cart of 40k and total discount of 4k on that.

Well that's.not next day. If that happens, I will be asking for a refund. That's not next day.
Mine shipped same day because they said I ordered it before 2 PM Pacific time.

Yea I ordered the day it released so they definitely didn't have a backlog.

Mine was ordered and shipped via Fed Ex 2 day and so far they have royally screwed this up for me. It was supposed to be re-routed as I requested the minute it was scanned into the Fed Ex system. I even got a confirmation email stating this. Then when it didn't show up at the designated holding facility the day it was supposed to be delivered, I got and a "Delivery attempt failed" notification followed by an "exception" notification saying it was being re-routed as per my earlier request- (no Duh Fed-Ex). So this alone wasted a whole day. Then yesterday (Friday) I got an email update from Fed Ex saying it was going to be delivered that day by 2 pm! I thought, finally..... Fast forward to now it still has not been delivered to my Walgreens and is supposedly sitting at a Fed Ex facility somewhere on the outskirts of town. No new updates, since yesterday and nothing from Fed Ex explaining what the F is going on. The Fed Ex online support is worthless to say the least and getting a live person to help is nearly impossible. Especially going into this weekend now. Idiots....... I am never buying from anyone who ships fed ex especially when I have no choice but to sign for the package. UPS is worlds better in my opinion when it comes to priority shipping logistics. At least I can see where they are at in my are via GPS tracking they provide. I f I need to go home and intercept I have that option which is nice.

WOW, that blows. Well Fedex wont officially hold an item, if the shipper(ASUS) requests it. Lucky for me, i have the phone# for my Fedex holding station. If i call as soon as i see its there, they will hold it for pickup. I ordered On a Thursday morning, had it in my hands Friday morning. Phone is killer, except no VOLTE here in the states.

Just got off the phone with Fed Ex-they said oh yeah it was dropped off yesterday at the Walgreens that I specified for the re routing. I said why wasn't I informed of this? I signed up for delivered/exceptions in my Fed Ex account online, I also got a Fed Ex update for every 2 seconds it was on hold from the past 2 days!?? LOL, Fed Ex goes yeah, we have not updated anything online yet......... I said you think???

That's standard shipping practices. The "next day" refers to shipping times only once the carrier receives it, and always only counts business days. You can't expect to order at 10pm on Friday after the warehouse has closed down for the day and receive it Saturday. You'll be lucky to receive it Sunday, but likely Monday, assuming the warehouse fills and ships orders on the weekend and the carrier delivers on Sundays.

I've never had that happen, with the exception of occasional Amazon Prime shipments because I'm not far from a distribution center. For anything running cross country, it's always one day to get the order ready and to the carrier, then one day actual shipping time for next day shipping. They advertise next day shipping, not that you'll get it the next day.
