titanium backup was partially working before a couple app versions of updates ago. but then titanium backup updates and now it crashes on launch. is anyone else having this issue?
Yeah, TiBu is getting more worse with every update. Go back to 8.10 or better use Migrate
Im using 8.3.3 and i'ts fine.

I had with 8.4.0.2. I have found a solution.
Uninstall TB and delete com.keramidas.... folders in /data/data with any root file explorer, there some leftovers which make app to crush.
Nope everything stated failed still
The miui bug report shows this

Maybe because I'm on the miui.EU builds?

Yes, you're right. Best is to deinstall old titanium and cleaning with sdmaid. For me the newest titanium is working fine.

I'm on xiaomi.eu 9.11.28. If you moved like me with clean install, check TB permissions.

New app: system app backupper, it allows you to backup system app and restore them when you want.
This app is created to make you able to restore system apps on a custom rom that cannot contain them.
Hope this could help cyanogen and the whole comunity.
ATM I don't know if it works for app2sd users. You can try. If not I'll update the app to be app2sd compatible.
Maybe it will cause Force Closes if you restore NON NEEDED system app to a different rom

wheres the app?
on the market?
*confirmed* app is on the market
Hope author doesnt mind me posting the apk
here it is:
the app is good but can use a select all button, manually selecting a bunch of the apk files is annoying
I can not find this app in the market. What's the app's name?
The apk will not install it say the app could not be installed using apk installer
If you're using app posted in this thread you have to' change extension to .apk
@stefan.buddle I'll include "select all" into the next version
phone crashed while did backup
@Spon4ik Can you provide me a log?
this might become an app included in barebone ROMs
it say The apk will not install it say the app could not be installed using apk installer
im on cm4.0.4 and yea i unzipped it i know how to install apk it jsut wont install
It is build for android 1.6 (donut)
I can't find the app on the market
Maybe you don't run donut. This app is compiled for android 1.6
Hmmm havne't seen too many success stories. I hope this is figured out, cause it will be ESSENTIAL with the bare bones ROM. Keep everyone posted with the success at getting this working.
Try yourself. Backup a system app, then delete it, then restore it. Tell us if it is working
So far was able to install and make a successful back up. Haven't tried a restore yet but will see in a minute.
Edit: Seemed to work for me. Backed up the email app then deleted it. Then I did a restore and seemed fine to me. One thing I would like to see is the ability to name and pick which backups we can restore instead of the last one we did. Other than that seems good to me.

What do you exactly mean with "it is working but not for sd?"

There are no buttons to delete it.
You have no backup of the file hence you cannot delete a non-existent backup file. To be honest if you don't know how to use titanium backup I strongly recommend you read some on it.
As for the files that you uploaded, Crossed = it's not installed on your phone and TiBu shows you that after you uninstall an app. Try refreshing the app list.

i have the same issue and i have been using TiBu for over a year. there is no obvious way to remove the crossed out apps that i have both uninstalled and deleted the backups. It uses a term that is not familiar. Im really troubled that since you clearly simply dont know the answer, you decide to bash someone that really needs help.. thats pretty sorry man.. if you cant answer the question why start flaming someone that just wants some help? not cool dude...
---------- Post added at 09:54 PM ---------- Previous post was at 09:27 PM ----------
run batch operation "remove orphan data"
may have to do it a couple times. the third time i ran it, they were finally gone.\
the TiBu wiki has a ton of helpful info.
http://matrixrewriter.com/wiki/tiki-index.php
I had this problem too.. was just ignoring it for a while will work on it today...
Find the folder on your internal sd. Remove it. I would just move it to your computer, not delete it.
This is only for MIUI
decalex confirmed it works on CM7 also *read post #4*
For anyone who is using MIUI i changed up the orange to blue for the theme I made and figured id share...enjoy
This will not flash it has to be pushed into system/app/ directory make sure you backup old torch with titanium or just save to SD card...
also for MIUI users this will not change the lockscreen it will still be orange
If you want to use the blue torch from lock screen simply take the lock_screen_torch_cover.jpg in link below and put into your themes
frameworl-res/res/drawable-hdpi/ folder

Sweet! I hated the orange
That's awesome! Thanks!
this doesn't need MIUI to work, does it? (testing on CM7 anyway right now..)
EDIT: Ya-- it works pushing it to system/app/ in CM7 (and fixing permissions).
Looks good Demo-- thanks.

Yessir! Same spot - To keep in mind though, the /system/app/torch.apk is packaged in with new nightlies, so it would have to be replaced anytime someone upgrades... not a big deal tho.
after you install just back it up threw titanium backup
much easier restoring back after a rom update

Try clearing the market cache and data. Then start the market again and it should update itself.

Then try the attached apk. But first rename the vending.apk (the market) in /system/app/ to vending.apk.bak (for example) and paste the attached file. And rename it to vending.apk.
Then restart your phone and see if it works.
Edit:
You also might clear the dalvik cache.

You know my bad English Sorry for that
(OMG and huge pics Sorry for everything )
EDIT: I flashed my phone. Phone is working well now. Thanks
I think you deleted related to google playstore and youtube. So flash the new firmware to work with and than download any custom rom that is already debloated or search which file you can delete and which cant.It will be pain for the first to see which file is useable and which not but for the next time you already know which to delete.
