I have quite the same issue. I do not have LTE active on my P30 Pro, even after reset factory, wipe cache partition, reset APN, reset network connectivity.
I've tried everything.
All is working fine except LTE, unavailable
EMUI version 9.1.0.193
I plan to migrate on 9.1.0.240 then EMUI 10.0.0.173, expecting my issue is coming from a bad radio flash or something like that. If not, I'll to contact customer services

Having same issue on L29 At&t.

How to force LTE only on my Huawei P9

hi, can any one help me to force my network preferred settings to LTE only? previously i have that menu or selectio on my preferred network settings but when I perform a factory reset that LTE only along with other options like Global are gone, and *#*#4646#*#* is not working on me.
thank you.
up.. please help
I also need this. Searched but couldnt any solution.
If you have VoLTE it's ok to force to 4G only, but if you don't, you won't be able to make calls, because the phone switches to 3G when voice calls are made.
We want to just force to 4g for internet speed. Not for calls. And we already aware of we cannot make call when we are using 4g only mod. But we dont know how to do it.

yes sir, im aware of it but I just want a fluid data speed and forcing it to LTE will be a massive improvement.
up..
You can't keep the phone for internet in 4G forced without affecting calls.
You have to select 4G/3G/2G and the phone will stay in 4G for internet and it will switch to 3G when making calls.
If you force it into 4G you won't be available for phone calls.

We aware. Any solution?
There are no any -native- solutions, because this is not a problem.
And if that will be possible; When you can not join to any LTE station, your mobile connectivity must be down. So you can select only priority of mobile data technology.
If the station is not allowed that (LTE) or not accept your request (join only LTE), you can not connect any station via forced LTE -if that's possible-.
This is not a problem, this is option. We need this option.
You can't activate this option in Normal Mode. Your phone needs to be rooted.
You can check some parameters in *#*#2846579#*#* but no phone manufacturer will enable 4G only in any menu (only maybe if it's a tablet with no voice calls).

SM-N950W : Mobile Data not working.

Hello,
My note 8 cannot connect to mobile data. Whenever I activate it, nothing happens I don't get any mobile data signal what so ever. I also checked the APN's configuration with my Mobile carrier and they were unable to solve it.
It should be noted that my note 8 has a stock Canadian firmware and I am using in Morocco with a Moroccan sim card

did you check with your morocco sim does include data from your plan? Also which carrier are you using in Moroccan? it could be either your plan doesn't include data plan or the carrier doesn't have the UMT/LTE band for your note 8

Yes, I still have around 1gig of data available and My plan includes data.
My service provider is INWI and they do have LTE band since The same sim card worked on my previous J5 2016 normally.
I forgot to mention that, After activating mobile data and roaming, I checked the sim status in the setting where I found that Mobile network state is DISCONNECTED and Roaming is not running.

Can you test if you can make call or text? if so, i will suggest double check the apn. I checked your carrier in Morocco , you should be able to get HSPA data connection in Canadian Version Note 8(N950W) unless you select (LTE ONLY).

I can confirm that I can make phone calls and send texts without a problem.
I checked all options and none worked .
As for the apn, the configuration message was sent to me by my service provider itself.
I performed a factory reset that didn't help too.
Since you can make the call, I don't think it is something wrong with the phone. I checked there's only 1 hspa band and none for lte available for note 8 from your carrier. I guess either double check with the carrier for the apn or maybe the phone just can't pick the b1 hspa signal from your location.

I won't mind HSPA since there's not much difference between LTE and HSPA in Morocco. I doubled checked with my carrier today and they told me that I have to wait for 48H for them to look into the issue.
The weird thing is when I used an app called LTE Discovery I found that I do have a signal for LTE band 3 yet I have no internet.
It is mostly the service provider's fault, I think.

They might be similar to AT &T where they need to recognize the device IMEI number before allowing full data access onto their Network.

I checked with my service provider. Unfortunately, they don't need to recognize the IMEI number.
They tried to shift the blame to my phone saying that I might have a faulty device. It doesn't make any sense.

First thing I'd do is research and see if it's true what your service provider told you. It might not be. Second use another sim from another network in your device. Third borrow someone else's IMWI sim and use it in the note 8. Also check APN again.
Did the phone receive 4G or LTE prior to coming to Morocco with the same device?
I also don't fully understand on your earlier post about the phone status not being roaming. It shouldn't be roaming status if using a local sim card.

I still haven't tried another INWI nor another Moroccan sim card.
I have no idea whether or not it received 4G Before coming to Morocco since I won the phone from a Dbrand's giveaway. I think it's brand new.
Shouldn't roaming be active when you activate it in menu ?
I turned on mobile data roaming and nothing happens. Check the picture for details.
I turned off my Data Roaming and the Mobile network state remained the same - connected. I'd think " Mobile network state " has anything to do with roaming being on or off unless one is roaming out of their Network onto another network.

I turn them on and off yet their status remain disconnected. I understand why.
I really don't understand how to get mobile data working on my phone.
Hopefully someone else will try and assist.
In the meantime
On the phone dialer enter *#0011# and *#2263#
Also, the mobile network state will be disconnected if you are connected to WiFi.
Should get the following screen.
Also make sure that the correct APN is entered and active / selected.
Then try and go to the connections menu and toggle lte/3g/2g... to 2 or 3 g and back to to 4g to see what happens.
Also make sure Mobile Data is turned ON.
Go-to settings then search for Mobile Data.

Thanks a lot for your efforts.
It turned out that my service provider does not support the bands on my note or something.
I tried an other provider's sim and that worked like charm.
Again thanks alooot for your efforts.

That's weird as when I checked Frequency check website with device sm-n950W and your service provider INWI , it lists it as fully compatible. The other Moroccan networks were not though.
This would be the second instant whereby Frequency check has got it wrong. First being Samsung device I used to own.

I checked the frequency myself and I came to the same conclusion.
I was only told today by an INWI agent that devices from Canada and USA always face the same issue.
I triend orange which didn't work too. Gladly, IAM worked as it is the largest and oldest network in Morocco.
From now on, I won't believe what websites say till I see for myself.

Mine is a Chinese version. The provider enabled voLTE for others smartphone like Samsung, Motorola. Is there another solution?
Follow this guide. It should work. https://forum.xda-developers.com/ma...ble-volte-icon-mobile-network-t3764826/page1/

If the provider has enabled volte support for your device it will work. It's just a setting in WiFi/ network menu. After that you ll see the corresponding icon on task bar.

Definitely worth talking to your service provider. Some providers don't support VOLTE on phones not bought directly from them. I bought my phone via Three UK. I don't have a VOLTE option and when I questioned this with Three support they said I didn't need an option as the service was always enabled and just a part of the standard Three offering.

VoLTE with Congstar (D1) in Germany

Congstar (D1) now offers VoLTE and WifiCall. It works in most phones I tested, like Samsung, Apple, Sony, Xiaomi, Motorola.
It does NOT work on my P30 Pro.
How to fix that?
to make it work, you must activate it on the phone, in the mobile data settings. for my part, I had first to ask my operator to activate the service too.

The Service ist activated by Congstar. IT works on many phones. But mit in P30 Pro.
The Options in mobile settings are Not there.
I know the Options from other phones. Like on my old Xperia xz2 compact. The Options are there, and I can Turn it on. I then call by VoLTE and can use WifiCalling. VoLTE works on the xz2c with my Provider Congstar.
That is because Sony has These VoLTE Options "Always activated". Huawei only Shows the functions for Providers that are in the internal list on the phone. That list has to be updated by Huawei.
I don't know if that will help you, but before, I had a lg g6 with the same provider that I currently have. Volte worked well without having to ask my provider anything. But with the p30 pro I had to call him to activate the service for this device.
Huawei updated by system Update. Now, VoLTE and WiFi Fall both Work.
With Update to emui 10.1 Volte an WiFi call works with German Providers like Congstar an fraenk etc

Question Mobile data issue on regular Galaxy S23

Hi guys, i have a problem with my Galaxy S23.
I am connected to wifi at home and mobile data on. But, when i turn off the wifi, the mobile data does not activate. I've checked the APN settings, i call the provider, i reset the network settings ... same issue.
Mobile data is activating only if i call to a short number like *100#. If i don't dial, even the mobile data toggle is on there is no connection.
Can you please help me !
Have you tried a factory reset?
This is the only thing i don't want to do, because i'm going to lose my eSim's.

Fairly certain this shouldn't matter. I think they stay when you reset the phone. You might want to research this more.
Ok, so i did a factory reset. Nothing changed. However, i found an option in developer mode "mobile data always active". This is keeping the data on even if wifi is connected. It is running ok now, but, the battery consumption is a bit higher.
Hi guys,
I'm from Brazil and I'm having the same issue on my S23 ultra.
I use 1 eSIM from Vivo and a SIM from TIM.
When I'm using the mobile data, sometimes it doesn't work even the 4G or 5G are on.
I tried switch between carrier (Tim and Vivo) and both show 4G sign and doesn't work.
There are two ways to restore the mobile data, restart the phone or turn off and turn on the airplane mode. But after some minutes the problem continues.
I went to a Samsung Store and they put a new and clean OS, but after 1 day the problem started again.
I searched about it and I couldn't find a fix to this problem.
I will try to use only SIM and not use eSIM. I read some articles that the T-Mobile was having same issues.
I think it is a chronic problem. Maybe they need a recall or a new update to fix this issue.
Does any know how to fix this problem?
I have 2 SIMs because there are some places that I work that only 1 carrier works.
Problem solved.
I went to the provider and replaced the sim card with a new one. Now it's working without any issues.
