Hi all,
I have been struggling to make the desktop dock experience playable. I have tried different manual configurations using game genie/ key mapping, and unlike tencent gaming buddy app (on PC), which provides a very stable experience using keyboard and mouse, the experience sucks when using my mobile and desktop dock.
Has anyone been able to get the right key map and sensitivity settings to play pubgm using the desktop dock? Can you please share the screenshots/ details?
Thank you!
Guys. Just a gentle bump to the thread. Requesting your help. Just a simple screenshot would suffice! Thanks.

What specifically are you having problems with? Sensitivity? Too fast? or key binds and what key binds specifially.
only problem is when mapping button is on (especially when perspective button is on), the mouse is disappeared. very frustrated when can not control by use mouse.

Thanks for asking. I have problems with:
1) Sensitivity settings. At times too swift movement with mouse. At times not at all
2) Key binds - Possible to use an alternate button to middle mouse to activate/ deactivate mouse pointer? Also, possible to run in the game using long press "w" without having the need for an extra keymap to run?
3) At times the dock just fails to respond to mouse movement
Hi everyone
I have the same problem with the mouse when i use it for movement it's oke but when picking up something i have switch to click mode then back to movement. Thank you

I still have problems with the "arrow keys" left and right (up and down working fine).
Is it possible to use the capacitive buttons for do this function. I know, there are programs like gscroll, but there are too much functions and this program is not working fine on my Touch Pro.
So very simple "double click" for left and right will help me and I have the feeling many other users of the TP.

theres a guide on here showing where exactly to press on the capacitative area to go left or right without pressing the other keys... you get used to it eventually. if not though, Gscroll works wonders man... ive disabled alot of the functions on it and just use it as a launcher and to scroll up/down/left/right.... really good man. have you tried the newest release. i reccomend it highly
theres software called dreadsensor i believe that disables the other functions of keys on left and right so for games its better

I have been trying this out. Works pretty good.
Try this: SensorScroll v0.6 beta
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=466377
I download gscroll again, test it and buy it (Thanks to manoli20)
The problems, I had before with this software is the fact, that I use a branded TP from German Telekom (MDA Vario 4) and the capacitive keys (and the normal keys) for Telephone, Home and Back are different from the original TP.
So pressing the capacitive key, brings not the right reaction.
Thanks to all for the tipps.

any idea where that guide is to using the capacitive arrow keys?
I have almost thrown my phone out of my car window while speeding down the highway. MUCH TOO OFTEN i accidently execute the "hang up" button when trying to press RIGHT.
There has been nothing more frustrating than this experience ..

I've been trying to use GScroll for reliable d-pad functionality. I wish my phone came with the instructions in that video!
Thank you
I paired a BT mouse to my D3 and it worked well, I had the cursor and everything. I was wondering if someone knew a way to map mouse buttons. My left click is select, my right click is back, but I can't access menu or search.

get a mouse with more buttons?
does the mouse map to keyboard commands? there's a search button there. the OG keyboard had a menu and back button too. seems to me there must be a way to program those.
1. Whenever I press the tablet's power button just to make it sleep (not shutting down, just sleep), the keyboard dock seems to keep the tablet awake. What can I do in order to get my tablet to sleep while the tablet is still connected to the dock?
2. There are some settings that I want to modify, such as text repeating speeds, the behaviors on holding down key buttons, find a way to "delete" words from the right of the text cursor, etc. Where can I do this?
3. Even if the keyboard dock build date is later than November 2013, but the tablet seat of the dock is still making the tablet wobbly (by a little bit), is it because I'm not seating the tablet deep enough? How deep should I push down, even after the locking mechanism is already in the locked state?
4. Are there any tutorial/guides on how to use the MobileDock keyboard? Everywhere I look in Google, it's always Reviews Reviews, and Technical Reviews.

1. Try just closing the lid? The not sleeping issue has been an issue on other transformers as well.
2. shift + backspace = delete. No options for the text repeating speed I'm aware of.
3. Known issue - you can fix it yourself with some foam tape. Asus cannot fix it as I have found out.
4. What do you want to know?

Anything from telling you what button does what to hotkeys in Android.
There are a few keys I don't understand, such as keys with weird symbols on it. The hotkeys is needed, because I would like to use them often.
I am not sure if common Android apps also used hotkeys optimized for tablets.

Mine also has this 'issue'. Also, when the tab is in deepsleep i cannot wake it using the unlock button on the dock. When i just let the tab go into standby, or whatever it is called, and immediately use the unlock button it works. When letting it stand by for a bit longer and pressing the unlock button it doesn't do anything and i have to use the powerbutto on the tab to unlock. Any possible solution for this?

The Asus docks have always worked that way. Deep sleep is deep sleep - power button to wake. Otherwise it has to waste battery and cpu cycles polling the dock to see if you have pushed the unlock button.

Didn't know that. Then, no issues

My other question is: Where can I find a list of hotkey combinations that I can use on the keyboard dock?
I only know a few shortcuts:
CTRL+C: Copy
CTRL+V: Paste
CTRL+A: Select All
CTRL+Z: Undo
One day, I hoped to see ALT keys used for inputting characters with symbols on them (like `e)
I just got my dock today (it is a 2013.10 but no connection issues yet). My boss is making me go to the UK in April so I made him buy me a dock instead of me getting a laptop.
Any who, you can configure the the keys to do what ever you want how ever it is a lot of work to set it up.
You need to scan the codes for each key and then modify the keyboard layout.
It can be done but it is a big pain in the ass.
Never heard of that before. Do you know how?

I thought I better take a closer look after I opened my big mouth and it is not the difficult
Attached is a key character map file that does what you specifically suggested ALT e is now mapped to `e however I think that there is a better solution that is already built into Android.
The below unicode characters are defined as dead keys in android what that means is this:
"When a dead key is typed followed by another character, the dead key and the following characters are composed. For example, when the user types a grave accent dead key followed by the letter 'a', the result is 'à'."
In the current key character map file "Generic.kcm" these are the dead keys
'\u0300': Grave accent. ALT + GRAVE
'\u0301': Acute accent. ALT + e
'\u0302': Circumflex accent. ALT + i
'\u0303': Tilde accent. ALT + SHIFT + GRAVE
'\u0308': Umlaut accent. ALT + u
For the attached unzip the file and put it in /system/usr/keychars and change the permissions.
Hopefully with the dead keys and adjusting the map, you can get all the characters that you need.
Further questions regarding special characters

Hello, thank you for providing the asuspec.kcm file. I found the link to this through http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2693602 and looked at the previous discussion in the thread to which you posted this message about the TF701T.
I am using a docked TF101 rooted with Katkiss 4.4.4 and I do not know if I can accomplish what you explain with a different model than TF701T.
I followed your instructions as best as I could understand. I put the asuspec.kcm in the location you instructed using SD Maid. I changed its permissions to be the same as those of the other .kcm files (-rw-r--r--).
I rebooted the TF101 and tried to type in special characters with the keyboard shortcuts. I believe I am missing additional steps to this process. Could you please instruct me on this matter?
Thanks in advance.
Could somebody connect up a bluetooth mouse and tell me the behavior of the buttons and for the scroll wheel and the scroll wheel click please?
I'm expecting:
Rightclick= back
Leftclick=select
Wheelclick=home
Bump
No one has a bluetooth mouse they can hook up?

I just bonded my Logitech Anywhere MX2 via Bluetooth to my Nexus 6. ElementalX kernel and OmniROM lollipop. The left and right buttons work. Unfortunately, the middle mouse button and scroll wheel didn't work, at least not in Chrome nor in Nova Launcher.

When the mouse is connected, there is a mouse cursor displayed. The right-click (and left-click) seem to both be interpreted as a touch, not really a mouse-click. The scroll wheel and middle/back/forward buttons appear to do nothing.
I have not tried to figure out if there is a way to get more 'desktop-style' mouse behavior, but I'm open to suggestions.

Me neither. A compromise I have found is in the 5.1.1 ROM that I am using. In the Settings/CyanideMods/Buttons/NavigationBar it gives me a bar with three buttons
Triangle, circle, square and I am using them like mouse buttons.
Back, home and open apps. So I'm good with that.
You see Touch wiz Roms give me proper mouse button behavior but Pure android and CM ROMs dont
