hi gents,
a month ago i bought a sealed LG G4 and the model number is H811 yet when i looked into the Serial Number it starts with LS991...
im stuck because i wanna root it and install a custom rom on it and im not sure what to do really ... the funny part is that even the software version belongs to T-Mobile ( 20R)
any suggestions or tips would do me a great favor
note: i dont live in the US so contacting sprint or T-Mobile would help

I would post this in the reg g4 threads there hve been a few people with this issue. And seemed to have solved

There is a thread in the g4 threads about this. Please look there. For most info. This is a common issue in aftermarket refurbs.

Hello, total noob here. So recently got a p20 pro, and is loving it so far. However, I got the Chinese firmware version C00. From my understanding, there is a US T-Mobile version. I was wondering, how can I go about changing it? Does it involve flash or something like that? Any help would be great!

The phone you have is probably the AL00. This phone is not sold in the US because of political unrest between US Congress and Huawei. There is no 'T-Mobile version', nor are there any US versions. However, I can confirm that the L29 works perfectly here in the United States even though it uses Asia Pacific branded firmware.
Are you having any problems with software on the phone? If not, just root and enjoy!

Looks like nsilva.android was able to flash AL01 to L29 via this thread

I've ordered a 12/256GB version of the phone but have just read from here, post 2 that there may be issues flashing it and it cause a brick.
Anyone succesfully unlocked BL and flashed alternative EU rom or other?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated
BTW mine will have BL unlocked already with global ROM, so that's no issue. Just a bit concerned after reading that guys post!!
I have Chinese version 8/128 (not TE). Unlocked bootloader and flash Xiaomi EU. No serious problem so far.

Thanks, but I'm wondering if there's any issues with the TE! I don't see why there would be over other editions tho, it's just got more storage, everything else is the same. Just worried me a bit that post from the link. Cheers anyway

From what I was reading, the problem when you have a chinese version phone with a global ROM you CAN´T lock the bootloader again. If this happens, you´ll have a brick.
But the same applies to all versions,

Hi ! I flashed and rooted my 8/256 Go with this tuto and xiaomi.eu's ROM plus the TWRP include in the tuto from the stock Chinese ROM without problem.
The only tricky thing is the Ok Google doesn't work with Xiaomi.eu's ROM. Not a big deal to me, but good to know.

I tried finding this one too. Where do you see an example?
I got Note 8 that can't be updated, with the same model, but it doesn't say of which US company it belongs to, if at all.
On boot there is no special logo (only of Samsung).

What's your baseband version and build number version? You can find them in settings and about phone. Also what exact model is it and which firmware are you trying to use?

I'm hoping someone can check the device fingerprint and possibly post a build.prop for the US and Indian versions of this phone.
I've got a CN phone that I'd like to experiment with.
Also wondering if someone has access to the RAW files for these two versions.
I didn't want to clog the CN to WW thread with this discussion.

+1 for this. I have the Tencent CN version on the way and hope to tinker with it right away.
I will be very happy if the US/IN versions are the same hardware wise as the CN Region
