Maybe I'm special but I can't seem to find anywhere, what are the car naming conventions used for the fire now? I bought a new 16gb and wanted to jump in but no idea what model I actually got. super noob question and I should know better but what can you do.
Thanks!
Mustang is the 2019 7"
Maverick is the 2019 10"
What model do you have?

Since they have similar size and form I wondered if the 2nd gen MotoG could benefit of the cool looking new shells for the 2015 model, I've found nothing on the internet about that and wondered if it's too soon, but it wouldn't hurt to ask.
no the flash area is different and the new 2015 are 3rd gen and have seals around speaker ports - different by design
the 2nd gen 2014 model and 3rd gen 2015 are NOT the same
Why would you even consider that?
I've seen some leaked information that Amazon is preparing, and that they will release new Fire Tablets and also a New FireTV-Stick, next week!
Does anyone know if this information is true and what we can expect in these new Fire 7 tablets (2015) models?

Model released last fall [2015 Fire] can now be purchased w/16GB storage option. I'm hoping for something meatier like an HDX replacement. Current mid-range tablets are less than noteworthy given price points.
As you already said, the Fire7 can now be purchased with 16GB, which is really good, but I was also hoping for something better with some enhancements, like a New HDX.
I have also noticed that several weeks ago, some colors of the FireHD8 sometimes are unavailable, in very short supply or are also offered used-like-new/Used-Very-Good, what could be a sign that Amazon is preparing to launch some new models with some enhanced features.
Got the 3 Kindle Fire 7 (2015) tablets for $30 each from Amazon. They were open box returns. They are the 8gb (2015) models. I got these a couple of weeks ago and they came with 5.1.1 firmware. Amazon is still selling these open box returns.
Amazon has a department called WAREHOUSE DEALS, that sells their open box, damaged box, returns and old stock at a discount. Most items come with a warranty and are eligible for Prime shipping.
To find these deals on Amazon, go to the Amazon main page.
Select TODAY'S DEALS under the Amazon Search Bar.
Select OPEN BOX & USED on the menu below TODAY'S DEALS.
In the WAREHOUSE DEALS department, search for KINDLE FIRE.
They currently have a couple of Fire 7 (2015) tablets for around $30 (with no warranty).
These are exactly what I bought and they all worked great. These Kindle Fires arrive, shrink wrapped, with a charger and data cable. That's all that is in the plain brown box. No original packaging or printed material is included.
Amazon describes these discounted Kindle Fire 7's as having slight blemishes. My 3 tablets had similar descriptions but they were perfect. The screens were all perfect. At most there was a slight rub on the back of the tablet that you had to look at really closely to even see. I wouldn't hesitate to buy one again if I needed another one.
The new Kindle Fire Oasis eReader was released this week - maybe this leaked information was referring to that?
Also, there is this:
New version of the Kindle Fire HD 8 is apparently in the works at Amazon
Amazon Fire HD 8 sequel apparently on the way with 1.5GB RAM

Of accurate this is a good move by Amazon. The current HD8 is a rip IMHO; a used HDX offers far more at a better price point. Too much is made over max freq and other glossy specs. The MT8163/T720 is a responsive combo when properly tuned which is all that really matters in this segment. Rootability and FlashFire support will ultimately determine how interesting this device is to the XDA community. Hopefully Amazon equips it with a decent panel (beyond resolution specs) and keeps the price below a Benjamin USD.

Thank for this great news, about new Fire HD 8 Tablets!
I just purchased a 2015 Kia Sorrento SXL AWD last friday, It won't be at my dealer until monday.
I have already set up my account on MyUvo.com, I see that the update for android auto and apple car play is only compatible with the 2016 model.
Its odd that the 2015 and 2017 are incompatible, and even more odd "to me anyways" that the 2014 Kia Soul is compatible with the update to install android auto and apple car play.
Has anyone been able to install the update on the 2015 Sorrento?
I was able to locate the files on this site last year to add navigation to a 2014 Edge Limited that we had. I would sure love to have the android auto software in my 2015 Sorrento.
I used the search and found nothing on this site, I am hoping someone knows something or can guide me in the right direction.

That does sound strange that the 2017 model is not compatible. If you can't flash it you might have to get one of those cheap Chinese replacement head units.

please forgive me if this is a stupid question, but I honestly have zero experience with android radios.
From my small amount of knowledge about the OS in the Kia sorrento, the 2015 uses windows CE (i believe 6.0) but the 2014 Kia Soul must use android in order for it to accept the android auto update. I have wondered if I could get the 2014 Kia Soul radio and install it in the 2015 Sorrento.
My question is about the Chinese android radios (if by chance you might know) if I got one of those cheap chinese radios, does it by chance keep the controls for the seat ventilation/heating, and the Hvac controls on the screen amongst any other things that the factory radio controls on the touch screen.

No you almost certainly can't install the Kia Soul radio software onto the Sorento as the hardware is probably different. If you mean the actual radio, possibly but I'd think it would be too different.
The Chinese radios/headunit can vary, some will some might not, but I don't know about Kia specific models though. Just search the net eg
https://m.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from...a+sorento+head.TRS0&_nkw=kia+sorento+headunit
This is for a 2016 but may be of interest

Hi all,
I have 2 Amazon fire devices that my kids use. Amazon Fire7 7th gen and Fire 8HD 7th gen. I get that we cannot root these but it looks like we can debloat? just not sure if i need to downgrade first to 5.4?
Ideally i want to disable all amazon apps except amazon shopping or Music but not a big deal
Bit confused on which ones are still rootable. Looking at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amazon_Fire#Models
It looks like the 7th generation has 5.7.0.0 as the latest supported OS. Did Amazon patch that, or is it still rootable?
I know that some tablets past 7th gen still can be rooted, but it has to be a specific hardware version plus you have to open it up, which I don't really want to do that.
Hey Billybob. I can't speak to the 7th gen Austin model, but I have a 5th gen Ford (2015) and 9th gen Mustang (2019) that are both flashed with custom roms. I believe the Austin is still hackable, but you'll want to review the forums on doing that. Even if they patched it in software, the hardware should still be open.
For the Mustang model, only the early releases from 2019 could be flashed. I was fortunate that I never enabled wifi or connected to Amazon's servers to get updates, but many people were less fortunate.
