Honor 3C bootloop: How to recover personal data? - Honor 3C Questions & Answers

Hello guys,
my grandpa somehow managed to get his Honor 3C stuck in a bootloop ("Honor" shows up at start, then vibrates and starts all over again). Unfortunatelly there are still personal files (Pictures...) on the phone's internal Memory.
Power + Volume up are not working to get to recovery.
The phone is at a stock ROM (latest, that was available OTA in Germany) and is not rooted.
Is there any way to get the personal files?
PC detects the phone, but no access is possible by file manager.
Thank you and Merry Christmas!

1,use mtk flash tool
2, install TWRP
3, use twrp file manager move file to sd card

Motorola Milestone Stuck in Bootloader :/ Help

Hello. I bought like new Motorola Milestone today. On that phone I have everything like from shop-stock. 2.1 Android and unrooted. So.. I decided to install vulnerable recovery by RSD Lite. Everything cool; phone restart to system. Next I insert sd card from my old Milestone with open recovery on it. I clicked "X" and select update.zip from sd card. Open Recovery turns on. On SD I have also CyanogenMod7 so i want to install that. Phone turns off in half of instalation. I've tried install it again about 10 times. My phone now stuck on Motorola Logo or it booted to Bootloader . I will forgot; I've tried also to install nandroid cm9 backup from my another broken milestone with all files (boot.img, bpsw.img, cdrom.img, cust.img, data.img, devtree.img, lbl.img, logo.img, system.img) when it was able to enter openrecovery. Don't know why I've tried to install vulnerable recovery again and....My phone always turns on to bootloader 90.78 with Errors;- Err:1A,23,35,23,00. What happens? I don't have any idea so, please help me. Is there any way to install android by RSD Lite?
Sorry for bad english :/

When i was stuck in that screen the only way i found to get out of it was to remove the back cover and disconnect the battery
I have the same problem
-I have rooted my htc mini2 and after a while decided to restore the original ROM but everytime i turn on the phone i have that red warning message.
One day i decided to delete de TWRP backup files bacause it takes a lot of space on my internal memory .
Yesterday my baterry died so when i was turning my phone it gets stuck on that message screen . So i can't get through because on my internal memory i don't have the TWRP files to backup or get into recovery mode.
Is there any solution? i was thinking about putting those files on my sd card and see if the phone will read them?

No, not possible from SDCard alone, you have to flash TWRP by placing TWRP in PC ADB folder (ADB must be installed in PC and device should be able to enter bootloader and fastboot) and entering bootloader>fastboot on device, then connect device to PC, this only works on unlocked devices.
Command is :
fastboot flash recovery twrp.img
fastboot erase cache

Hey, i had the same issue. After rooting my phone, when my phone died because of the low battery, the same thing happened to me.
The solution is pretty simple, actually - you have to restart the charging unit of your phone.
So what you gotta do is this:
leave it to charge a couple of minutes (so it will have enough power to boot again) and then just press all the buttons of your phone at the same time and hold it for up to 10 seconds, so power button + volume up + volume down.
This will restart your charging unit and it will get your phone to boot normally again. :fingers-crossed:
I don't know why this keeps happening, but I have to do it all the time, if my phone dies. So I try to make sure it has enough battary not to die, because it is just annoying.
i have the same problem. if you hold the power button + volume up you can reboot your phone if it is frozen.

the trick is to keep hold of power vol up & vol down for 2 mins,it will boot, reboot, boot, reboot loads of times, keep hold for at least 2 mins, once you let go it resets itself:good:
make sure you have a some means of installing Android back onto your phone placed on your SD card or internal storage
I recommend updating to the latest version of twrp before trying these (I used 3.0.2.0)
twrp>wipe>advanced wipe>select everything but: "/Micro SDCard" "/Internal Storage" "SD-EXT" and "USB-OTG
after that install Android by restoring from a recovery backup or instal a custom rom onto your device (whatever floats your boat)

Help, Soft-brick my Lenovo K3 Note K50-t5

Hi all, first of all, i'm not full expert on android, but I know some stuff. anyway i tried to root my phone using kingroot (last version update) i don't know what i did wrong, but know the phone stuck on the Lenovo logo, then bootlops again and again.
I read there I have to flash a new rom to my phone, but again im not experts in android. so im not sure how to do it. There is any guide? or one click tool to help me flash rom to my phone from the computer?
Hi there, I also had the same issue a while ago. I soft bricked my phone, it got stuck into bootloop and I got so confused what to do because I didn't wanted to lose my phone over some parlor trick. What I'm gonna do here is explain you all the things step by step and if you follow them correctly, you will see your k3 working at the end. So first thing first don't ever use kingoroot again to root your phone or any other phone. Not Helpful.
So I'm assuming that you are stuck at boot logo or somewhere around it, facing black screen. Don't worry it'll be alright at the end of the day. You need to download a few things before we start because to completely vanish the problem we have to unroot the device and install stock rom again using spftools.
Requirements Download files and tools :
1)Download flash_tool
2)Download USB Driver of Lenovo K3 Note
Link- https://drive.google.com/folderview?...kU&usp=sharing
3)Download K50a40_S112_150610_ROW.rar
Link- https://docs.google.com/uc?id=0B1tnng1Ipox5S1NsVG53YndVNVU&export=download
After downloading all the necessary files keep your PC ready for the following things:
1)Install "LenovoUsbDriver_v1.1.13.exe", then Restart pc.
2)Extract "SP_Flash_Tool_exe_Windows_v5.1452.00.000.zip" using Winrar
3)Open SP Flash Tool with Adminstrative rights (Right click on flash_tool.exe from inside the SP Flash Tool folder)
4)Go to Options > Option... > Download > Tick "DA DL All with Checksum" > Close the options box
5)Close SP Flash Tool.
Charge your phone up to 80% or more- is a must for the following process to avoid any issues.
Flash Recovery
1)Download and Extract "TWRP_v3.0.0-3_for_SP_Flash_Tool.zip" *
2)Open SP Flash Tool(admin rights), and From "Download" Tab click on "Scatter-Loading"
3)Browse the TWRP v3.0.0-3 folder and select the "MT6752_Android_scatter.txt" file > Ok **
4)Click on "Download" icon
5)Completely turn off your phone and wait for about 10 sec (BUT DO NOT REMOVE BATTERY) and NOW connect it to PC using usb cable.
6)Wait till the Process completes and a "Download ok" box will appear with a green tick. Disconnect the phone from cable. Done!
Now press and hold VolumeUp+VolumeDown+PowerButton all three buttons at one untill you see the "TWRP" logo.
The phone will boot into custom recovery you just installed.
Flash Stock Rom
1)Extract K50a40_S112_150610_ROW.rar to a folder and open flash tool extracted folder and run flash_tool.exe
2)On the flash tool, click Scatter-Loading button browse and then select file name MT6752_Android_scatter.txt, just find it on K50a40_S112_150610_ROW target_bin folder, then click open.
3)Now it will load the above file, make sure only recovery selected and select the Firmware Upgrade option.
4)In the menu Option tab, select Download and check DA DL All with Checksum.
5)Click Download button or hit F9
6)Completely turn off your phone and wait for about 10 sec (BUT DO NOT REMOVE BATTERY) and NOW connect it to PC using usb cable, this will start the flashing process on flash tool.
7)Wait till the Process completes (5-10mins) and a "Download ok" box will appear with a green tick. Disconnect the phone from cable. Done!
8)Then switch on your phone just wait, it will take some minutes for first boot and be patient.
You will see your device boot up like the first time you booted it up. Fresh as a new. It has a custom recovery installed so it advised to take a backup of the fresh system using TWRP incase you need it in future. Press and hold VolumeUp+VolumeDown+PowerButton to access recovery menu.
So now you have unbricked your phone and it's also in unroot condition. Follow the procedure and you'll be good.
Attention: I'm not responsible for any damage that occurs to your smartphone, for committing install Stock ROM on your smartphone is very risky, if you have a doubt it better don't do it or give to someone who is more understand with this installing. Thanks.
I would rather suggest you to directly install the latest stock ROM for our device I.e s433 instead of lollipop so you won't have to go through all the trouble of downloading and updating as the mm update is nearly a GB in size.
Here's the link to that

After installing the rom, install twrp recovery as mentioned in the above post, boot to that recovery and then flash this SuperSU zip. When that is done just reboot and you will have a rooted stock rom
Here is the SuperSU zip
Hi, I have a slightly different problem would the fixes above help me too.
My issue started with installing lineage 14.1 using twrp 3.02, after a factory reset, due to selling to a friend, the phone now only boots to TWRP every time, so I'm kind of stuck in a twrp boot loop, I installed twrp 3.1 but that made no difference, still twrp loop.
So should I just follow the above method, not flash twrp, but just flash the latest official rom using the above method, to get the phone back to loading roms?

Yes you will be able to fix your phone with those methods. What you would want to do is this:
1) While your phone is booted to recovery, run sp flash tool on your PC.
2) Remove the battery and insert it again to power off your phone if you can't do it through the recovery.
3) Load all the required files in sp flash tool as written in the posts above.
4) Select 'firmware upgrade' option (This will wipe off your internal storage) instead of 'download only' and click on download button.
5) Now connect your phone to PC and long press the power button of your phone. You will see the download process has begun in sp flash tool. Wait for it to complete and leave your phone there till it completes.

Brilliant Ty, just to confirm, when you say select "firmware upgrade option" I should at that point have the stock rom loaded into flash tools, so that will over write current installed recovery and rom.
Then I guess, try lineage again, great rom, only the twrp boot loop has been a big pain, I have read this is because of using twrp 3.02, twrp 3.03 and twrp 3.1 are said to fix this issue from happening next time.
Thank you

Yes that's right, else the download process won't start. Once you load the scatter file it will also set sp flash tool to overwrite your current twrp recovery with the stock lenovo recovery.

HUAWEI P9 EVA L19 Nougat: /Data partition corrupted or damaged

Hello,
I am previously a Sony Xperia user. Rooting is not my first time. However, since i got a Hauwei P9 (EVA L19), I messed up with the rooting process and thereby acquired such issues with the phone.
History:
I accidentally used a SRK tool by some thai developer for huawei. I didn't realize it was only for MM versions. I followed the instructions there and managed to unlock my bootloader. However, during the installation of the TWRP, it replied some error so I read some more articles and found the right version for it which is the 3.1.0. So, I was able to install TWRP using fastboot. After that, since i can't get my phone rooted, i tried several ways (which so badly i couldn't remember, sorry) but still it's not successful. I then decided to flash back the stock ROM for B386 (latest nougat OTA) via fastboot. I flashed the BOOT, SYSTEM and RECOVERY. So far it went well, but the time it booted, i realized my stock apps like Camera, themes, Alarm clock were missing! so i panicked and tried to reboot many times. I also wiped cache/dalvik but to no avail. Then i decided to wipe everything including the system and boot. There it messaged from the TWRP "No OS" something. so again, I flashed B386. It flashed but again my stock apps were missing. the same result when flashed with B361 and B381. It seems like my settings remain intact and unchanged no matter how i flash the stock firmwares.
the next time i flashed a firmware, it says "data partition is seriously damaged... restore to factory setting..." i did reset it but still it doesnt make any change. So now i realize that my security settings are fcked up too. I cant open the developer options to enable usb debugging. I cant open the security tab under advanced setttings. Theyre all just gonna exit after tapping on them.
Question:
Would it be possible that my data partition is corrupted? because no matter how i install firmware, it always goes back to its "original setting" (no stock camera, themes etc etc)
is there a way to recreate the data partition? wipe all of its contents so i can rewrite from stock firmware? it seems like the system wont let me write over it.
Present status:
So far, the phone is okay with calls, txts and games (i need to download apps from playstore as i cant install backups since i cannot enable "install from unknown sources" in security setting. I can access the cam via messenger or any app. wifi and bluetooth still works.
but i really really want to get back the stock apps like the camera.
please help. im really running our of idea here. any comment would be highly appreciated.
Thanks!

Download both files and flash them either via TWRP or dload.
Dload:
1. Put your sd card in your computer and create a folder in the root of the sd card called dload
2.unzip the archive. You will find some files
3. Copy the file called UPDATE.APP into the dload folder
4. Put the sdcard back in your phone and turn it of.
5. Hold volume up, volume down and power at the same time. The phone should boot and install the firmware.
6. Repeate the steps with the other zip file
TWRP
1. Copy both zip files on your phone
2. Turn of your phone
3. Hold volume up and power. You should boot into TWRP
4. Press install and select your file, when finished install the other one to
5. The device should boot
If this didn't work try to rollback to marshmallow via dload and then update to nougat over OTA.

I tried this but it didnt work. do you have any other solution?
The dload / 3 Button method doesn't work any more. Here is what worked for me:
For anyone pretty much, who has ****ed up his Huawei P9:
I got to the state where I could only enter Fastboot mode (Press vol- and connect power cable). When I tried to start the phone / go into recovery it would only display the "Your device has been unlocked and can't be trusted" Message. My mistake was to relock the bootloader in an attempt to get the recovery to work.
I looked for hours for the answer, here is what worked for me:
follow this tutorial (the "update firmware" part)
German
English
But with real precision, every step.
If you have a european unbranded L09 you should be fine using the firmware you can find on this site:
https://thedroidguru.com/download-install-huawei-p9-b394-nougat-update-europe/
if not you gotta find the full firmware (3 files!!) yourself - good luck!
If you only want to go back to stock you should be fine afterwards.
If you want to install twrp for root/custom rom/... follow these steps after installing twrp with the tool:
Upon flashing TWRP, FIRST THING YOU MUST DO is rebooting to TWRP. If you don't do that, stock Recovery will ovewrite TWRP.
Find instructions in the TWRP threads how to enforce immediate booting to TWRP, upon you flashed it:
-Type on the PC: fastboot reboot -but don't press Enter yet.
-Press and keep pressing Vol+ and Power buttons together on the phone
-Press Enter on the PC and then immediately unplug USB cabel.
-When phone shows Booting, release Power but keep pressing Vol+. button
Hope this helps, I don't take responsability for anything, happy flashing!

DLOAD does not work for half a year, ie since Huawei stopped releasing FullOTA-MF-PV builds (it worked only for them)
Here, on XDA there are two proven guides for recovering Nougat (not just for EU c432 but for all custs, not only for P9 L09 but also for L19, L29) - just search for them: HWOTA7, HuRUpdater

Moto E5 Play, unable to root

Unable to root Moto E5 play,
Steps:
1. In TWRP recovery, getting Unmodified system partition. So keeping read only have to Wipe -> format data. (As without this get mount /data error). This helps to now mound /data and sdcard is no longer 0MB.
2. After formatting data, if I reboot device I get message Decryption Unsuccessful.
If I do not reboot and continue in TWRP to install Magisk:
2. After the step 1, go back to Install and install zip no-verity-opt-encrypt-6.0.zip.Now reboot to recovery the Unmodified partition message no longer appears.
3. From sdcard or Micro SD flash Magisk. I had to flash Magisk-v19.3.zip as all other gave me updater error 1.
4. Once magisk is installed, reboot system.
5. Stuck on Moto boot screen forever.
About phone says, Model E5 play, Android 8.1.0 but can't use official James Twrp, had to use version TWRP 3.2.0 to make TWRP work.
Any help would be appreciated.

aYo bossman....you figure it out? after idk how many hours/days working on this and a few firmware resets I FINALLY got a successful root!! I'm on the e5 play James XT1921-3 for MetroPCS. After trying prolly every guide in the forums this is the one I had success with.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-e5/how-to/guide-root-twrp-moto-e5-play-explained-t3856182/amp/
Also, after awhile I had different versions of every every img or zip file which didn't help none. In the end I used magisk-v19.4.zip which I got from the actual site, and the same for the twrp_james.img. make sure to extract the fstab.qcom file as well. That was my problem for a cool minute. And the last thing, which I don't think I read here but on the actual site was I installed Magisk Manager on my phone before even booting into fastboot. Keep in mind I did this all on my girlfriends MacBook air and I'm nowhere near a pro. I was just tweaking (literally-smoking m***) on the thing until I got it rite. If you get stuck in loops check out this program rsdlite which works! And if your phone ever freezes and doesn't loop but stays stuck on the Moto screen, hold the vol up button for a few seconds, followed by the vol down and power button, pressing all 3 at the same time, hold it and eventually it'll pop back into fastboot. aYo bossman....you figure it out? after idk how many hours/days working on this and a few firmware resets I FINALLY got a successful root!! I'm on the e5 play James XT1921-3 for MetroPCS. After trying prolly every guide in the forums this is the one I had success with.

Good luck and let me know!!

How are you able to get lineage on there? I've tried everything and all I end up with when I try to start my phone is a flashing screen. I'd love to know if you'd be willing to help a newbie out?
