Maybe your port is broken or dirty. Try to clean it out if that doesn't work go to phone support to replace the port.

95 percent probability that your port is dirty....clean it out by pouring 2-3 drops of 99 percent isopropyl alcohol and a toothbrush....also blow out the leftover alcohol... worked for me...

[Q] Not booting (black screen, no vibrate, usbJIG not working)

I tried different batteries, different cables and different chargers, but get no response whatsoever, even when using a USBjig. Can't get into recovery or download mode. ODIN doesn't find it.
I've been having problems with the microUSB port for a while (phantom USB), in which the phone thinks a charger / car dock is connected (whilst this is not the case). Not sure if they are related, though.
I was running RocketRom V1 (which ran great) when my note suddenly turned off and didn't respond to anything.
Two days later, whilst my supposedly dead note was connected to my PC, my note booted when I booted my pc (very, very odd). I immediately updated my rom to RocketRom v2. My note ran fine for a couple of hours. Then, again, it turned off and hasn't responded to anything since.
What options do I have left to fix my Note? Thanks!
Sounds like dodgy usb connector and therefor not charging properly, I'd get it looked at under warranty or there are a couple of threads here on how to replace the usb port yourself.

Thanks for the response, Spydertracks. I've send the phone to samsung for repairs, but my warranty was refused thanks to physical impact damage. I fail to see how this relates to my N7000's issues, especially since I haven't dropped my note and the problems started when it was lying on the table.
They didn't explain which part of the phone was damaged, by they did send me a picture of the insides of my phone. It shows a small square item (a sticker, perhaps), with 16 small x's on it. Is this a warranty sticker or something?
for now you can use an external battery charger and boot up your note,
also if its the USB connector in the phone, loads are available on selling websites that come with tool kit to do it yourself. videos on youtube as well.,

Thanks for the reply. I have ordered a USB module and will try to fix it myself. However, even with a fully charged battery my note won't boot. It does charge (and the battery heats up) in my Note, but it just won't boot or give any life signal (like a "charging" screen, vibration, whatsoever).

I would try cleaning the usb port with pure alcohol and a cotton bud. usually when it states a charging when not and switching between driving mode and not it points to dirty connectors. Battery is obviously not the issue as he's tried different ones. Only other thing would be to charge the battery on an external battery, that would show if the usb port has failed.

Thanks for the advice. Tried cleaning the port with alcohol and a cotton bud, didn't work. However, I did notice a high pitched sound coming from the charger when my N7000 was attached. This sound could not be heard when charging any other device (with that same charger), which might indicate a short-cirquit in the USB connector port in my Note. The phone (and the battery) do heat up slightly when the charger is connected, though.
I have ordered a UBS module, which will arrive in 2 weeks. I'll let you know if it worked.

battery charging while charger unpluged !!

Hello guys,
I have this problem for last one month.
my phone shows charging status and battery level increase, this happen very fast, few seconds charging and then stop, I have drained the battery several times and full charge again. i have update my ROM from 4.0.4 to 4.1.2 but yet the same problem.
it looks like if i connect charger to power supply and disconnect and connect back quickly.
anyone can help me ?

remove the battery and check the USB port for contamination.. try blowing air or clean it gently with cloth (may be dipped in pure alcohol). let it dry. reinsert the battery and try again

Get a tight micro usb connector and connect and disconnect it to the note usb port. It should clean the port out. I had the same problem with my note.
I have tried 2 different micro usb connector but didn't help. I think there might be some problem in the internal circuit.

You can easily replace the charger board if you think that's the issue...its about 35 dollars and very easy to install

This problem happened to me about 3 days ago. My screen is constantly turning on, if i'm not charging it. And the icon is flapping between charging and not charging, even i have unplugged the cable.
I am using stock rom and saw a new firmware upgrade last night, did it, and look like it has resolved the problem (last night), however, happened again, this morning.
I want to know if this is a "battery" related problem or "hardware"?
hope someone can help
thanks guys

Does charging cut in and out when you wiggle the charger?
Does the issue happen when on battery alone? Screen flicker?

if the conditions cited by AndroidSlave occur then you just have to calibrate the battery with some complete charge cycle

I ve already advise a few guys on this , happening to lots of SGN now, (getting old lol) use a thin flat screw driver and gently lift the middle small plate at the charging port up (if u look closely its touching the bottom part of the port) then use small brush n alcohol n clean the port. Should take care of yr problem. Cheers

XPeria T charging problem...please help :)

Hello!
Well, I guess I'm the new (un)lucky owner of my stepfather's Xperia T since he decided Z3 suits him more (not that we are rich, he's just kinda shoppingholic or smth).
I replaced old HTC Wildfire S with it and I was fkin amazed. There was no root or tweak that could ever make that little HTC (who has supported me over the years even after falling in water and all other ****) be even a close match to my shiny new-old XPeria.
However, the phone keeps irritating me with it's charging problems.
I'm an electric engineering student and this crap sounds like connection problem (but I don't wanna admit it to myself), but I still hold your opinions to be very important since well....you guys know this phone through it's soul.
Here is the weird thing...
I got it with it's original charger while I still had a charger I used to charge my HTC. It was some old nokia cable and was charging HTC perfectly, always without a problem, but Xperia always seemed to have a bad connection with it. I tried it's original charger and almost the same. That was bearable until last few days, connection was starting to grow so weak, it took me like half an hour to make the damn phone charge. Worst thing, battery run dry, so can you imagine that feeling when you have to wait 5 seconds before the battery logo does it's animation before you can actually realize if your phone is charging or just "ate a spark".
I've searched on google and many people seem to be having similar, even though much worse problems (phone does not react to the charger at all) and I'm actually afraid that's where my dear Xperia is going.
Weird thing is when I visited my parents last week, I tried plugging it into my mother's charger (S4 charger) the phone started charging immediately, I tried rocking the charger a little left and right, and it didn't seem to distract it.
Tried friend's charger, same problems again!
Can't figure out what the problem might be...I thought it was the cable, then the port, now I don't know what to think of anymore.
Help please!
Thanks guys!
UPDATE:
OK, while I was writing the post and doing other stuff, the phone was charging, I disconnected it now to check for battery level, I succesfully turned it on (no more double red blinking) but the phone just showed PIN screen and Turning off.. note appeared. Which means after half an hour of charging, the battery is at the same level....?
Should I let it charge overnight?
I mean I don't feel comfortable doing it since I can't see the battery and my landlord has no tools in the whole apartment...Maybe the battery might be damaged...
Try your mother's USB cable with your recharger.
I guess it's your USB port that is dying.. .
PS now I know what's a stepfather.. LOL.. Thank you XDA (and thank you Google Translator)

Well, I'm glad you learnt it haha
Wohoo!
Successfully turned it on, after 20minutes of charging it's at 1% and hopefully it's gonna go up!
Oh! In the meantime the phone just turned off again showing empty battery while it was still charging! O.O
FU Sony. Telling my shoppingholic stepdad not to waste money on Z3. -.-
Try to clean the USB port with cotton and alcohol. Maybe it's only some dirt over the metallic contacts.

So the battery is okay.
The problem could be: some dirt, a USB metallic pin bent or broken, the USB port entirely broken, or just an UFO that steals your energy only when you connect it to the recharger

Usb C Note 9 loose and wiggly any fix?

My two weeks Note 9 have this issue... I try with a different usb cables and cleaning the USB port of my device, this is the original cable that comes in the box, but is the same... To be clear, the USB works well, any problem with transfer files or charge the battery, the only problem is that is loose and I don't know if this is normal.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9ow0p7ZfNRs
I had this with my pixel. Take a really thin pin and clean around the port. You will be surprised at the compacted lint that comes out. My cable fit super tight after that.
The cable fits tight because the cable don't fall off, I could even hang up my phone without it falling off. The only thing is this wiggle that shows in the video that I made...

Do they allow fast charging? I've been looking at the magnetic charging cables for a while now, but they always get mixed reviews, especially when it come to fast charging.
If these fast charge and are reliable for data transfer, then I'll pick up a three pack. Probably still wouldn't trust them for flashing firmware through ODIN.

Fast Charging - Yes!
Data Transfers - Yes!
As for Flashing a ROM, I would Always choose a Direct connection rather than Magnetic. I wouldn't want ANY chance of a Cable Interruption Ever if the Cable was to get bumped.

Well I went to a Samsung store and they told me that this was not a problem, because it works well and the cable does not fall, it only loose a bit but it has good grip, so neither how to claim a guarantee if there is no problem... :/

Ordered. Received. And returned. One of the cables fast charged and has a good strong magnet. The other two had a weak magnet and wouldn't fast charge. Wouldn't charge my Note 9 at all actually. Plus leaving the tip in the phone is impractical. It sticks out way too far. Looks kinda ridiculous.

1. You Have to Choose the 7th Generation Cables in order to Fast Charge.
2. Fast Charge will depend also on the Wall Charger. If it's a QC3 type of Wall Charger, then you should get Fast Charging without any Problems at all.
3. As for the Magnet being weak, maybe you just got a bad one.
4. As for the Magnet sticking out of the Phone, I and Most All people that I talk with and have gotten the Cables use a Rugged case like I do, so it don't stick out visibly.
Here's the Supcase Unicorn Beetle Pro Case that I use.

If you have Any issue with the Cables, then you have 2 solutions. The First is to Contact Amazon and the Second is to Contact NetDot. Wither way, the Problems can be taken care of.

Yes, anything above 5V/2A (10W) will heat up a bit. I use v10 with 22.5W but i feel the heat is normal and i do not consider it as hot but little warm only which get absolutely normal within a minute or two after disconnecting the phone from charger.

There is different between hot and warn though. If your device gets hot while charging on the original charger there is something wrong somewhere. Mine doesn't even get warm when charging, perhaps, due to the winter cold. You should check the main power supply voltage to see if it's compatible with the requirement.
I don't believe it is normal for your device to get hot while charging without many apps running at the background.

Nope
If it supports Quick charging or SuperCharge, your phone may heat up during charging, due to the increased voltage. In order to reduce heat when charging, do the following:
•Charge your phone in a place where heat can easily dissipate (such as on a desk). Avoid charging in places where heat does not easily dissipate (such as on a bed).
•User a Huawei standard charger to charge your phone.

I was using my phone for navigation in a car dock and it was plugged into the car charger (qc 3.0). The phone got really hot on a sunny day and now it doesn't quick charge and I can't connect to pc with the usb cable.
Never had a problem using my mobile phone for navigation before. I suspect thermal managent is non existant and the heat has damaged the usb board.

What you are saying is like you want a aeroplane to take flight but you don't want to press the ignition button as that is manual work? And then if the plane doesn't fly because you didn't even press the ignition then you call the plane ss hh ii tt?! Wow! I guess there really is meaning behind it when people say "Handing a mobile phone to a monkey is stupid because it won't know how to use it".

I'm not a fan of honor or huawei but I am also not a fan of people who blame and cry about things because they themselves have stone age level intellectual(you get who I'm talking about, right?). Anyway thanks for your wisdom about ?but no thanks because unlike you who has surrounded yourself with stupid people who use the ?( which you are so familiar with apparently) when talking about logic, I surround myself with progressive and intellectual people who appreciate logic. Hope you don't have to see that finger again cave man but I guess you can't really help that part, can you?
