Well I don't know will we get the official update but Android P custom ROMs should be easier to make now since our phone now has Project Treble support since as well before the official version was released I sae that someone managed to boot Android P Developer Preview 3 on this phone a month or two back.

I don't think the P8 Lite 2017 will get Android P,since the original P8 Lite only got one major Android version upgrade,and that is from Lollipop to Marshmallow.

Huawei started Beta testing program for our P smart in China. That includes only the chinese models for now. What do you think guys? Will be the EMUI 9 released globally for P smart?
It has to receive Pie as P Smart is Android Enterprise Recommended device and Google mandates at least one major update for such devices

Yes, it doesn't matter if they have their skin over the Android they have to have one major update. Good thing is that P Smart came out with 8 so it has to be updated to 9.
When i had LG G6 people had the same concerns if it will receive 8, but then Google added G6 to that program and LG had to update it.

Probably not, but if you're phone was rebranded you may be able to sign up using their beta program

I mean it's quite the wait but at least we are getting it...
P20 Lite just got working beta, I am using it right now and since the phone is almost exactly the same as P Smart 2018 I guess there will be a beta soon for it
It works just as 8.0 and it's stable.
