armory crate locks FPS refresh. (dec .64 patch) - ASUS ROG Phone II Questions & Answers

Title. Just updated to dec .64
Even if app is set to "use system" refresh rate, armory crate locks it while the app is in the foreground.
Removing the game from the armory lets u adjust during gameplay.
Wasn't a problem is august .12 patch.
Any fixes?
Zentak forums suggest clearing armory + screen recorder data but that didnt work.
EDIT:
intentional by asus, they wont fix.
Replacing the gamegenie and armory apks with older versions does nothing. the lock is somewhere else.
It's tied to armory crate aka roggamecenter.apk, but somehow running an very old version of it doesnt change fps lock, maybe there's a permission xml that wasnt deleted.
you can get fps switching by disabling armory crate, it's not that much needed outside editing the back light, game genie works without it. Still, a way to enable it would have been nice.

Thanks for replying. I'm running fully stock, locked bootloader. I clean background apps via battery saving menu. Still it happens randomly.
Make sure you didn't add an app to armory crate that running in background

Truly force 90Hz in ALL apps?

Hey everyone. I'm loving my Pixel 4XL but it's a shame that even with the force 90Hz option ON in developer options, it drops to 60Hz if Google Maps is open (even if it's PIP). Has anyone found a way (with root, etc) to truly force 90Hz refresh rate all the time?
Any ideas?

Question Is there way to get the screen to stay at 144hz?

I love this phone, but there is one huge annoyance, there doesn't seem to be a way to make the screen actually run at a sustained framerate.
I have it set to 144hz in the menu, but it routinely drops to 60fps or 120fps depending on the app
This normally isn't a big problem, except nova launcher only runs at 60fps and so scrolling the app drawer is incredibly bad.
Pokemon Go also only runs at 60fps...and since the game operates at 1/2 vsyn, the effective fps is only 30, which is atrocious compared to the 72fps it runs at on the ROG6
Don't confuse Screen Refresh Rate and Frames Per Second. Totally different things.

I mean... Not really
Obviously the screen always runs at a refresh rate of 144hz because it isn't a VRR display(as far as I know that doesn't exist on phones)
So what you are changing in settings is always the frame rate that the phone is rendering at.
Your phone should ALWAYS be rendering at the frame rate you select in the settings menu... But this phone doesn't seem to do that, and it's annoying because it makes the usage experience worse than every other phone I have

Most of the reviews I've read/watched confirm what you've said. When you set 144hz, it runs that way in the default launcher and all the menus, but when you open certain apps, if they don't support 144hz natively then they just don't run at 144hz. The reviews seem to indicate that the developers of said apps need to enable support for 144hz.
So I was poking around the settings, and entered developer mode. There's an option to force the screen to stay at 144hz at ALL TIMES. It's called LOCK REFRESH RATE. I was able to confirm this works because there is also an option to SHOW REFRESH RATE which displays the screen refresh rate in the upper corner of the display. Before I locked the refresh rate, I used the show refresh rate function to view the refresh rate using different apps. In the phone menus, and app drawer, and google feed, etc the phone would remain at 144hz. But when opening some apps like Chrome for example, the refresh rate would drop to 120hz, etc. However, when I LOCKED the refresh rate in the dev options, the screen refresh rate stayed at 144hz in EVERY app and scenario I was in. It does state that this will drain your battery more rapidly when selecting to lock the refresh rate in the developer options. FYI

Any way to force an app to stay alive in the background?

So, on my old OneOlus 7, i would simply start the app, lock it from recent apps drawer, minimise it, and it'd run in the background for as long as i wanted. Even if i played a game or do anything, the app would run no issues.
On Rog 3, the app is closed randomly after 10 seconds or 5 minutes.
I have every background restriction i could find, disabled. Armoury Crate has Memory cleaner disabled as well.
Any method to keep an app running minimised in background guys?
Add the app to OptiFlex.
In app settings:
- Background Restriction = Disabled- Battery Optimization = Disabled- Background app management = Disabled
Also, if you need the app to automatically start on every boot/reset, add it in Auto Start Manager.
That's it.
Already did all these.
It's still beeing closed damn it

Question Refresh not adapting properly in redmi note 11

Whenever I go into games or other social media apps my refresh rate goes down to 60hz but when I'm using settings and other system apps refresh rate is at 90hz, is somebody else facing the same issue? Can you tell how to fix it?
Refresh rate is in the corner
From what I've noticied, the 90Hz refreshrate only works on apps that work in 90FPS. If the app is stuck to 60FPS, then it'll force the refreshrate down to 60Hz
But why is it refresh rate going down in call of duty
Not every app supports 90hz.
Call of duty is supposed to support because it is a "popular" gaming app, and gaming apps should be able to support 90hz
did you consider the fact the processor just doesn't have the horsepower to run cod on 90 ?
a lot of phones default to the lowest fps when using apps , not the phones fault but the way the app is coded
