hello guys
I have an issue on my S10 and thats just rebooting randomly, even sometimes when im not using it and its standby on the desk.
i search about it and saw someone elese have same problem, so i want to know what is the problem and how to fix it.
i found someone who fixed it with some solution at this topic but that is not my phone model :crying:
i just change my android version to 10 and its not fixed..
i tried home csc and csc files and even tried pit files too..
please hellllp
thanks
Did you try a data factory reset? It might be a hardware issue, I would take it to a local repair shop or contact Samsung on it.

get the factory firmware from sammobile.com and flash it in Odin. be sure to factory reset from within the settings first or the FRP might crop up. This is the nuclear bomb method that 99% of the time fixes any glitches caused by software. You might have a hardware issue, but this will help rule that out

I had this issue with rooted Android 9, too. But it it very strange you get this problem on Android 10 because the kernel panic problem is fixed there. When you are not rooted, you should not have this problem anyway. Try restore your software in Odin like the other users already suggested.

Please let me know if this has worked for you. I'm having a similar problem that only started when i updated to android 10.
I have a totally stock, Verizon S10. Never had a problem with it on 9. After updating i started noticing after about 8-12 hours phone starts getting very sluggish, gets hot, has trouble even doing processor intensive things like opening camera and taking a picture without it crashing back to the OneUI launcher. Launcher would show up blank and take 5-10 seconds to restore my icons and widgets. Lock Screen lags really bad and face rec hardly works if at all. Phone gets really hot and if i look at the CPUs (Antutu BM) they are usually all maxed out.
A reboot fixes everything and then it will be fine again for another 8-12 hours and then, like clockwork, it starts up again. I've done a factory reset with data restore. Didnt fix it. Did another one without data restore and it is still happening. Would an Odin flash be different than a factory reset from the settings menu?

I think I may be onto something. Do you have any battery monitoring apps? I had Accubattery, better battery stats, and gsam battery monitor installed. Gsam and BBS had battery_stats permissions granted via adb. I was beginning to wonder if they were causing some kind of memory drain so I wiped their data and uninstalled them. Immediately after that I rebooted and after 46 hours of uptime there was absolutely no problem. Phone flies and runs cool as ice.
I'm currently installing them one at a time and waiting 48 hours after each install to see if and when the problem comes back.
---------- Post added at 12:16 PM ---------- Previous post was at 12:06 PM ----------
And I'd just like to add that when my phone starts acting up it gets worse and worse to the point it won't even unlock and go to the home screen. Then it will actually reboot itself. I assume it panicked because it just doesn't have enough ram to complete any tasks.
so maybe its about the battery for you? btw my problem still alive
Guys, I got the same problem, did you guys find a way to fix it? Just realised today that even the system data, i.e fingerprints have been corrupted, what exactly is happening and how to fix this, it has been driving me crazy for the past couple of months.

Suffering from the same here
I think its related to one of the apps - I will start removing my installed apps one by one from tonight - Will keep you posted with the updates.
Also, if anyone out there had the same issue; please advice!
I had the same issue on previous android devices..I managed to get around it with numerous hard resets. Also I believe that a certain combination of apps will cause it too..but i don't know which ones. I've got a dell streak right now, and its been stable for a few months..having said that, it still randomly reboots once in a while but no where near the consistency it used to.

I had this problem too and it seems to be an installed app problem, particularly any that change the wireless settings in some way or apps that stall when accessing the external SD card at boot times.
this is exactly what happens to me guys, same problem.
Random reboot and this happens all around the clock, no matter if it is day or night or if the phone is in flight mode...
Frankly I don't want to uninstall my apps one by one to check what app is causing the issue because I have no time to spend on it...
I hope that someone with more software skills than me (I am just an user) will succeed to fix it...
cheers.
Do you have Dolphin browser installed?
If it's the case, don't search further...
What's the problem with dolphin browser? I constantly use it and never had a restart. Is OPs phone overclocked or undervolted?
Which rom and kernel are being used?
mine is also rebooting every once in a while for no apparant reason. Mostly when I unplug it from the USB cable but not always. This happened from the first day on. I never did a factory reset but considering it now since the SMemo app is not working anymore (no strokes are visible) and I am out of options.

Dolphin is a well known app for causing random reboot, since SGS 2.
Not for all users but for many:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1321612&highlight=randomly
But without Dolphin installed, I really don't know...
I think it's the SD card causing these problems.
My reboot problems all disappeared when I removed the 32Gb sandisk card. I replaced it with a 16Gb card and was very careful about which apps I installed on it. Now whether it was the card size/brand or the selective apps that resolved the issue I can't be sure. Having Dolphin's cache on the phone memory instead of the SD card might also be a solution.
But it's worth investigating if you have reboot problems with external card installed.
Hi guys,
As soon as I got my Note, I rooted it and flashed a custom rom. Never had problems with reboots so far.
So, for a change I though setting it beck to stock was a good idea, with the upcomming ICS update.
As soon as I flashed the stock rom with odin, and it was back to factory situation, the reboots start happening. Every 3-6 hours the Note rebooted. Got in contact with Samsung (NL) and suggested to execute a factory reset, so I tried that a couple of times. But no luck, the reboots keep happening. I thought maybe it was an hardware issue. I have no Sdcard, only my SIMcard, which was a bit warn out, so I order a new SIM. But still, the reboots keep happening.
Then I decided to root my device again and flash a custom rom (Rocket-Rom), and guess what? No more reboots!!!
I hope this helped.
To me, I think automatic reboot is somehow still acceptable. I experienced two times auto power off. Both were happened after I charged it over night, unpluged the charger and left it without unlocking the screen, drove to my work place, and found it dead
I'm only having it for 2 weeks and I haven't rooted it.
it maybe a usb charging issue which is causing so much grief to many note owners. Mine has a defective usb port and it makes my note go crazy, including reboots and makes the note think its charging when its not even connected to charger at all.
Using note since dec... Faced such problem 5 or 7 time whn my phn was nt rooted... But nw its working fine... Using rocket rom v 20...

Hi!
Yesterday my phone beeped telling me there was and Android update available, around 198MB
it came from this

To this
dropbox.. com/s/zh92wxumigfe00e/2014-10-17%2020.38.32.png?dl=0
Everything was ok for some hours until hell broke loose
The screen will have a bad time turning on. I press the button several times with no response.
The phone is lagged as my grandpa in his grave. Apps close and even transition from one screen to the other is everything but impossible.
But, when I reboot it, it's ok for as long as I'm using it. If I lock the screen and let it aside for a while, the problems come back
No app updates in the meantime. It went from smooth to horrendous in the period of 4 or 5 hours. I didn't use it much in there, but I doubt it was malfunctioning like this
Special apps I have are Greenify pro, MinGuard (I think that's the name), SuperUser and I rooted it with Towelroot long ago
Any help will be appreciated

If it was a factory update I'm willing to bet you lost root along with busybox. If so, TowelRoot will probably not work this time. There's another root exploit available called PurpleDrake.

Thank you! I did it, re-rooted it following the instructions (indeed it looked like I'd lost my root) but the problem is not solved.
It's just a hunch, but seems to me that changing the Launcher smoothes things up. I was using Google Now Launcher and switched to both LG stock one and Solo Launcher and it seems to be ok.
I'll update the post in a few minutes to clarify it further. It could be that just those few minutes of usage after a reboot are smooth, as I stated in OP. Nevertheless, as soon as I change the launcher, the phone behaves better
Any hints? Google launcher version in Play Store is from August 1st here
Edit: bah, no luck. Same ****, regardless of the chosen launcher.
What do I do now? Try to downgrade it?

There's a special place in Heaven for people like you.
It's probably clear by now, but I'm using stock rom here. I grabbed the phone in its early days, when this sub was crawling its way to glory, and we didn't even have a Recovery by that time. Since I was mostly ok with Stock, never minded doing anything special other than rooting it.

Haha I noticed that. Mine is 410 (LGD410HN, to be more precise, according to lg-firmware-rom.com).
I followed the instructions. This is what I saw: dropbox. com/s/6h721axufevchjw/2014-10-18%2019.42.10.png?dl=0

Just rebooted the phone, so it takes a few minutes for it to get sluggish.
Edit: Yeah, same thing.
It's another hunch, but every now and then pops up a message saying that a certain google process or app stopped working. Yesterday's update did have a pack of Google updates, IIRC.

It makes sense if you take in account that the problem starts a few minutes after the phone sits idle.
I opened Greenify and there was this orange popup
dropbox. com/s/qkxeb850esfkxuo/2014-10-18%2020.40.57.png?dl=0
I disabled the auto-hibernate featuer now and unchecked the google apps that were on the list (Play Music; Play Books, Play Games, Remote Access - i think). But I didn't add any app since the update yesterday and the phone was running smooth since the last time I checked a few more, wich happened weeks ago.
I've got no clue about what may be causing the auto-hibernation problem that Greenify notes (the picture above).
I'll only be able to state for sure in a few minutes, but seems to me that the problem persists.

That's what it's sounding like. I hate to say that because the only way to downgrade is to flash a KDZ. Unless someone has made a flashable zip of your stock ROM.

It's been ages since I last meddled with KDZ-ish things... I guess the "hate to say" part is because it will wipe all data from my phone, right?
I installed CWM and wiped cache and Dalvik. It asked to fix my root, I chose 'yes' and rebooted. After the phone took its sweet time to update apps, I was gifted with this popup message after normally unlocking the screen:
Code:
Unfortunately, the process com.google.process.gapps has stopped.
It's the same error message I've been receiving constantly for a while now, as I stated before.
And, yes, things seem to be the same broken s**t as before.
Gosh, what a headache!

Unfortunately, you cannot just reflash GApps on stock like we can on custom ROMs. As for CWM asking to fix root, this generally isn't needed. So selecting "No" wouldn't hurt.
Well my friend, I'm fresh outta ideas. This may be the first issue that I've not had a fix for. LOL. Sorry. I really hate it when I can't help someone resolve an issue. It's the perfectionist in me, LOL.

I'll search for that old post with LG tool and kdz files and do the deed in a few minutes. I'll update the topic and deem it Solved when I'm finished

DOK2 all stock firmware here.
Got my phone back in december. My phone has been chugging alone fine until yesterday. not sure what happened but the lock screen takes minutes to come back. I tried doing a factory reset via software and when I did that the phone was still sluggish. Tried a stock recovery reset, and afterwards when i tried signing into my account and connecting to wifi at the initial setup the phone just rebooted back to the start screen again which i thought was real odd. It's currently restoring apps from the app store right now and it intermittently reboots itself while doing stuff. all while it's completely stuttering if i try to use it...
Is my phone starting to have internal memory failure? no SD card in the phone at the moment.
Should I try reflashing the DOK2 firmware via odin and then doing a reset again? Is that even possible with all the restrictions?
used it for about 30 minutes on my way to work and then it rebooted on me with the following error :
ddi: mmc_read failed
Check this thread for a workaround. I use an app to keep my phone from going into deep sleep.

Wouldn't hurt to reflash stock. Google usually restores apps when you check box at first boot for backup and restore. I'm wondering if you installed an app that doesn't agree with your phone... if so, you may continue seeing this issue so long as app is installed.

Did a factory reset and cleared cache, reflashed stock DOK2 from sammobile website using odin, cleared cache. things were going a little bit better at first but now just stuttering all over the place and randomly rebooting still. I only have very few apps downloaded, including facebook updates, instagram, all the samsung and google crap that forces updates...
Also want to add that booting into recovery takes a very long time, longer than i've ever noticed it taking... 7 min+ sometimes it will say "installing system updates" with the android guy chugging along, other times it will just have the android guy chugging....
Is there anything else I can try? Is there something I can test to verify that it's a hardware issue and not a software problem, like a flash memory checker?
This phone is out of warranty, and knox has been tripped so I have very limited options here. Would the Tmobile store let me do an exchange for a fee?

Well, fool me once.... Having spent $800 on a phone that broke in just over a year, hell would have to freeze over before I give Samsung any money again.
Hello,
I am here because i have another problem with my lovely phone :/
You guys always helped me so i hope you will do it again.
Okay,
My phone is restarting in random moments. Screen is freeze for 1-2 seconds and then rebot. It is doesn't matter if phone is used hard (games) or if it's on the table.
1st time it happend with ROM 5.1.2. Then i've decided to go back to 4.1 rom and then automatic upgrade to 4.3.
Few days was okay and after then it starded again.
Does someone know why i have that issue??
I really hope that is only rom problem and if i change it the problem will gone.
And here's second part of thread.
What oryginal rom do you recomend? I have saw a lot of them but i have no idea what could i install.
Right now i have stock rom, i do not remember exactly number but i has "James Bond" music so i am sure it was one rom from that edition...
Edit:
If you find any better rom than stock 4.3 that is really stable i can take it as well
I jsut want my phone wokrks without any problems
Please, halp :fingers-crossed:
Try to run phone in a safe mode and see if the problem with restarting still exists.
I would suggest you to use this CM 12.1 rom it is working just great.
It could be a problem because i have no idea whenit will happen.
Now few days was great only today morning i saw that it restarted.
Hmm, for the first time restarts like this started with that rom... but i will give it another chance i think.
Then maybe an app are causing that random restarts or it may be a hardware problem. It even may be that sim card causing restarts, I have read something about it.
Btw I'm using that rom from the very first builds and I havent have any problems with phone restarts.
I had few restarts when sim card was loose but i have information that phone is restarting.
About app it's not the problem because even if i had no apps downloaded i had that problem
I hope i haven't destroyed my phone when i installed some roms. That would be bad.
For now i will try to instal CM 12 and i hope the problem will go away.
Edit.
And may it be just a battery problem?
Btw. I just did factory reset and already got few restarts, so i am sure it's not an app that causing the restart.
Okay i have watched that phone for a while and found new, fresh informations...
Even in a safemode phone cause to restart. It is no matter if i have a sim/sd card.
I also think it is getting hotter every restart but i am not sure about this.
When i was traveling by train it was restarting like a stupid... The phone was loosing signal and was changing to roaming etc.
I don't know if it has something with that...
After changing to android 5 few days was good and then...
Also that problem started in 1 day. Just started restarting, without any sympthoms.
Oh and 1 what is strange... After the restart when i touch the square (to cloose the apps) there are apps that i have been using before that restart.
Please, help :c
Edit. A hour ago the phone was restarting over and over, it turned on and sudently after homescreen loaded it restarted again. And that was for some time, now it is working without any issues for over 1 hour...
Edit. 2
After the night, and many restarts as well i saw that battery dropped. From 90% to 20%.
May it be just a battery problem and changing it will solve that?
I have the exact problem for 3 weeks now, the phone becomes screen off then randomly reboot and gets very hot. After reboot battery goes down like from 49% to 10%. My phone is just 2.5 years old and everything ia stock. In battery test it shows like battery health is normal. I also only use gsm+umts, mostly umts, Is there any solution for this?

This first started when i travelled by train, then it happened like crazy when i am on sub way, now even happens when i am at home
Sucha a big forum and noone knows the answer, daamn :c
I am really thinking about changing battery right now.
After and OTA update failed my note 4 was crashing, freezing and randomly restarting.
I tried every available troubleshoot, even installing stock firmware and changing the battery but the issue was never gone.
However after installing the wakelock power app my note 4 is working like it had never undergone any issue. But i cannot restart the phone as it does not power on easily.
What could be the culprit behind the problem which is fixed by simple installation of an app.?
I'm having the same *exact* issues. Curious to know what can be done about it
Over heating? When restarting i have to set phone in the freezer for a minute

Holy crap i thought i was the only person with this issue, I don't know the solution but I'm slightly relieved I'm not alone. I can tell you after reflashing roms and kernels and nothing working i actually took the phone completely apart, disconnected the board and reconnected and put it back and THOUGHT i fixed the issue because it wasn't happening, for 1 day, the my issue returned. If anyone has a fix please let me know I was under the assumption it could be a board issue but now that i see others have the same problem perhaps there's a solution.
Well I can confirm for me its a hardware problem...Spacifically its the EMMC chip, I can also tell you how to find out...I found actully multiple threads here i didnt relize existed with this problem, and theres a potential solution, that would be to downgrade to ok2
You have to do this by:
Getting Odin 10.7 spacifically
Getting the pit file
Getting the OK2 stock firmware
Use odin 10.7
Check Re-Partion
Uncheck auto reboot
Load pit file you downloaded
Load Stock TAR file in AP section
Flash
Hold down vol up, vol dwn, home
Let go Vol dwn soon as screen is off
Wait and watch the spining android for 5 mins
Phone will reboot takes about 10 mins
Skip through setup go to settings and factory reset
If the problem is Fixed YAY
If not you have a hardware issue
Back everything up because you will loose it all
But yea it comes down to its a marshmallow issue or its hardware issue and both issues look the same.

I might be a little concerned still about the reboots if you're back on pre mm stock and they are still happening but if it works great! If i helped you it would help me to hit the thanks button, you can also h8t it on all the original posts i listed above to help the people that led me here. I changed my board since i did i have had 0 issues.

So need to change the whole motherboard or just a chip on it? So weird, cause it begin to happen as soon as the update came.
Please let me know did I need to do factory reset before the flashing? or after is enough?

I changed the board because its much easier to do the chip is soldered on to the board. If you have experience soldering you can change the emmmc chip
I am having the same problem however, I'm not sure if it's the hardware.
I triple boot. Three systems as you can see by my sig.
The only time I have random reboots is when I am on Note7 TWiz. Using the AOSP roms there is never a problem.
It might be xposed Greenify with amplify. I am going through a process of elimination
Just my two cents
I noticed 2 or 3 white horizontal lines the moment display is shutting down before the random reboot. (just half a sec appearance)
Everybody have that?
I might have found a way to diagnose whether it's hardware or software
I am having random reboots as well, and partial wakelock fixes it. I think some people get random reboots because of software problems and some people have damaged hardware. I used AndroBench to check the speed of the NAND and it is much lower than when I didn't have random reboots (sequential read/write of 41.34/33.57 vs 207.51/95.42)
That leads me to believe my phone has motherboard damage.
Could you guys download AndroBench and post your results? Maybe we can figure out who's got hardware damage and who's got software bugs causing their phones to random reboot.

Do you get any "mmc_read failed" errors while booting? If not, then it is not the problem that I'm having (my memory speeds are much slower than yours as well).
Those results are very close to what a new Note 4 would get so I don't think your memory is damaged (that would be worst case scenario - phone is slow and will reboot and freeze very frequently without partial wakelock).
Since it's probably a software issue you can look for rogue apps or as a last resort, factory reset.
Also, if anyone is reading this that has "mmc_read failed" could you please try and get AndroBench results? I suspect all of the phones with the MMC problem will get abnormally low numbers like my phone.

Try to do factory reset your reading/writing numbers should be higher! My story is when I updated via WIFI in Jan, phone started to rebooting from time to time, and was overheated. also when I tried to check for new updates I get messages that I have modify the firmware somehow that I cannot get official updates anymore. But I didn;t do anything. So i reflashed again to the new official. I helped but no I have same random freezing and rebooting. But no it happens quite rarely. After last update that was couple of days ago rebootig and freezing happen more often.
you can look for rogue apps

The way i personally determined mine was a Hardwarere issue was downgrading to stock dok2 that i had before installing any roms and seeing if you still have tje issue. Plus i was getting Emmc errors in download mode.

Does anybody know may I flash same pit file with the newer firmwares i download with SamFirm. Usually that's one file firmware.
