Ordered a Pixel 4 XL on Black Friday and finally got it a month later. Everything seems to work fine but I could not figure out how to set 2 different ringtones on different SIMs. I had a Samsung S8 + awhile back and I remember I could set different ringtones on each line. I could not remember if I used an app or set it in the phone settings. Any suggestion would be appreciated.

Thanks for the tip. I'll give this a try latter. I thought Pixel 4 XL would have this function built in. My old Samsung S8+ Duos has built in settings to set two different ringtones and different Notification sounds to distinguished which line is the call or message that is coming in.

Hi! I have the same problem with the Pixel 4a. I can't believe this is a real problem in 2021... Did the app work for you or did you find a different solution? The DualSimRinger thread has been closed and the download links have been removed (why?), so I didn't try it.
The Pixel 4 has Dual Sim Dual Standby. Even though it supports two sims only one can be active at a time for calls. One sim can be used for calls and the other for data at the same time and it is easy to switch between the two for texts but otherwise it is fairly limited.
That's no issue for me, as I don't need to make calls on both sims simultaneously. I've been using the Moto G5 before (also with Dual Standby) and never missed Dual Active. Also, that has nothing to do with the issue described above. I need to able to tell which sim is called using the ringtone (no matter if it's a known or unknown caller). This was easily possible with the G5 but now it's not. Why? Has that feature been removed from stock android? That would be a really dumb move by Google...

Hello, new to the Nexus 6. I'm having a little issue. I keep getting an exclamation and an R, then back to H on my Nexus 6. I noticed that I wouldn't get connectivity if I didn't have Roaming enabled. I got it from Amazon Prime, which says it's a local edition of the Nexus 6 (not imported). And right now, for example, I'm on wifi. I see the Wifi symbol and then an R appears. It says I'm on roaming and then no? Hmm...

Suggests that your service provider may have a weak signal in your area, or possibly they are experiencing technical difficulties (tower going on and off... I've seen this kind of thing happen lots of times). The fact that it switches to 3G/H *ever* means that it actually is compatible with your carrier.

I know it's not the issue. I have a note 4, same service provider. Also my partner has a z ultra and same service provider. No issues either.
I went into the sim toolkit and changed the roaming settings. Now let's see if it fixes the issue because it's driving me nuts. Lol.

I'm using a rom that is close to stock, I've had similar issue before. Try playing with the mobile data settings to see if this solves it. My carrier is Verizon.

Hi,
Since last Friday I haven't been connecting to LTE. I'm running multirom with the latest BBOYZ Sense ROM and then on secondary a minimal GPE ROM without root that I just use when I want Android Pay. Neither has connected to LTE since Friday. I'll see LTE show up for a second but it won't spin like it's doing anything and eventually will switch back to 3G. I have unlimited data and have never had a problem in the past. This monthly cycle I've used 0.6553GB of 3G data, 1.5186MB Data Roaming, and 13.4001GB LTE. My wife's iPhone 5s still connects to LTE just fine. We have a tower near our home and get a great signal. My wife has used about .25GB. Billing cycle says tomorrow so that might mean it resets tomorrow or tomorrow is the last day, not sure. Anyone have any thoughts? Am I being throttled? Or maybe I just need to give it a full wipe and flash a RUU?

I decided to try a full RUU. Still only getting 3G. I did some reading and saw Sprint (about 2 weeks ago) said they're going to limit high volume users when they get over 23GB but that they'd be notified. I haven't been notified or used that much data. I guess I'll see what tomorrow brings. If I get into Wednesday with no LTE I'll head over to my Sprint store..

I went into both those menus but wasn't sure what to do. Was about to ask but I disconnected from wifi and now have LTE. Don't see how that helped but maybe it did! Thanks regardless!

I recently switched carriers from MetroPCS and I'm now currently on AT&T through Straight Talk. The first thing I noticed after I switched sim cards and my service was finally activated, was that the carrier name shows "Home" instead of "AT&T" of "Straight Talk".
Is it possible for us to change the carrier name?

Given that I only see the carrier name on my lockscreen for a few seconds until I've unlocked the phone, I see little point in changing it. Now, it can be done, but I believe you need Xposed and GravityBox to do it.
It's one of those things that just kind of nag me when I pull down the status bar
I would use xposed, but I'm pretty sure that it's still not compatible with Android N yet. I was looking for alternative ways of doing it.

I don't believe there is an "easy" way to do it. You're probably going to have to decompile framework-res.apk and edit the carrier name in strings.xml, then recompile the framework. That is probably as simple as it gets, as I don't think there is an app that will do it for you. But search the site. You may find something that works that I haven't found.

You can use a custom rom to hide it. To be able to change it takes a bit more.
I find it annoying as well that is why I only run roms that allow me to get rid of it. I know what carrier I use. I dont need to be reminded.

I have a new Hyundai Ioniq electric 2020 and they upgraded the screen to an 10.5" wide screen. However AA still only uses the left part, the right part being wasted with just the AA logo, like this:

That's got nothing to do with wireless. It's all about the screen size the car reports to AA. Ones which do it properly work as expected. Ones that don't are like that. Daimler (Mercedes Benz) had/has a similar issue. AA does support widescreen.

Change DPI and resolution. Try some different values.

So, I have two of these T-Mobile devices. One of them originated from australlia, and another one has an unknown origin. So, the one with unknown origin makes me think that it is a prototype model. It has a weird custom android 1.6 firmware, and it lacks any safety notes, model names and notes in general under the battery, while the second one is bloated with them. I will attach a photo of both devices side by side on this thread. (the one with minimal text is what im curious about)

maybe it was made by a unknown man. all of that pieces taked from different places (ex: locations like one for a samsung board or nand memory). if you know about repair the entire device of something i can think you will know what happens really easy.
