I have the separate App Sound feature enabled on my Samsung S10. I have set it to relay the audio of my Telegram app to the phone (rather than bluetooth devices).
However, after upgrading to Android 10, when I ever I dial a number a notification is shown saying Telegram sound is playing through your phone speaker. I dont need this notification since I already know I have set this setting and it is very annoying. It happens only when making calls.
This issue was not present in Android 9 (i.e. I wouldn't get a notification from Separate app sound when making calls). Has anyone else who is using the separate app sound feature faced this issue?
Did anyone else had a chance to test this bug?
Can someone please give this a try and let me know?

I use Google+ and G+ messenger a lot. I have a very active chat and do not want a notification sound every time someone writes something in the chat. I have set every notification possible to "Silent" in Google+ and Messenger but I still get a notification sound every time someone writes something. A friend tested this out on his phone and his does not do this. I have a feeling it is a sound from Sense UI that I can not find anywhere. I can not even find the same notification sound being used for anything in the sounds menu. Can anyone test this for me or have the same issue?

I have tried that. I have looked at every setting there is in the phone and no matter what this same noise always happens every time I get a notification. I can not even find a setting that uses that same chime anywhere.

I just got my HTC One last week. After some tweaking, I realized that I am running into the same problem. Notification under both G+ and Messenger setting are set to "Silent" with vibrate off. Whenever I get a notification from G+ I also hear the chime sound even though it's set to "Silent", this is actually the default notification sound from stock android (I just switched from a Nexus S). I've tried everything I can but nothing works. Have you fixed the problem somehow? If yes, please let me know how. Thank you.

Nope! It is really weird and is seems like eventually it finally solves itself. The new G+ Hangouts app seems to work better and give me the correct notifications.
I know it's a Jelly Bean issue/feature, but I really miss the ability (coming from an S3) to alter the volume of notifications and ringtones separately. Basically I want to use some sort of app to turn on quiet times where I can still get ringing on calls, but messages emails ect do not make a sound. Is there a ROM or app available to get this to work? If not I guess I set notification sound to NONE 24x7
Try Llama in the Play Store.
Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk 2
+1 on this.....
I actually use llama and was configuring today, but it gave me an error noting the inability to separate ringtone and notification volume. Is there a solution to this?
To note, it's not a JB thing...my co worker's S4 can easily separate it.
I use this one https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=Orion.Soft works for me (free version
Or this one https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=opotech.finevolumev2 but you have to paid for it.
The obvious option in the accounts settings is not checked but the phone still vibrates on every email.
Same here
Hi, I have the same problem! Did you figure out how to not let this phone vibrate? Thanks!

I called Sony tech and asked about this, and found out that this vibration itself is defective since no matter if it's phone calls / texs / emails, it vibrates when Vibrate is unchecked.. I installed an email app created by some other people and stopped using this phone's original email app, but it still vibrates when the vibration is unchecked. So they, Sony recommended me to reinstall the Android software (all data will be deleted), and if it doesn't work, we have to send the phone to Sony factory to fix the vibration deficiency.. it's frustrating..
Same problem here. But it just vibrates when the phone is in vibrate mode. I also think it's a bug in the mail app..
Did someone find a solution?
Hi,
Actually it's an Android 4.2 "feature".
I personnally consider it a bug, bug the source code is quite clear : the behaviour is intended.
There's a bug request in the android tracker, I suggest you star it.
Issue number is 39592 (sorry, can't post links yet).
One solution is to select the "silent" notification sound for each notification you don't wan't to vibrate when in vibrate mode.
Obviously those notifications would also be muted in normal mode, which kinds of defeats the purpose of having a different setting for sound & vibration.
If you're rooted you could always try and compile your own replacement class and patch the framework, but that's a dev's work, not a customer one. Can't blame Sony though. They just re-used the AOSP code.
Cheers,
Mine doesn't vibrate, only the apps that I had selected to vibrate. I take it when you say email you are only referring to gmail app?

Hi All
Been using this device for about a month now. There are weird and annoying notification sounds which play during notifications.
I've set a default notification sound. It plays sometimes but there are two other annoying notification sounds which get played. I've failed to find out where those sound are. They are not present in the options to select notification sound.
Is there anyone else facing same issue. The sounds are so annoying that I have to keep my phone in silent most of the time.
Any help would be much appreciated.
I'm having the same problem. Random notification sounds, but I don't know where they're coming from...
I was able to resolve the issue. Almost every app has its own notification sound. Not sure where those sound files are stored though. You need to go to app settings section and go to notification. There you need to choose the behaviour. Let me know if you need some screenshots. This is really a dumb UI mistake. And the people of Nokia support have no clue of this.
Device: Redmi Note 10 5G
Firmware: MIUI Global v12.5.3(RKSMIXM)
After the update to the latest firmware, I'm noticing that a lot of my notifications aren't playing sound when they should be. They all have sound enabled in their respective app settings, and the issue seems to only happen some of the time. I've found that I can get them working semi-consistently if I go into the app settings, tap the sound (which is already set correctly), choose "Pre-Installed Ringtones" in the Themes app, and then hit Apply next to the sound file I want to use. Notifications received after doing this seem to work correctly (i.e. play sound) for a while, but then they stop a short time later.
I'm guessing it has something to do with the MIUI Themes app itself, as one app on my phone, Signal, doesn't bring up the Themes app when I go to select the notification sound, instead bringing up a ringtone picker app I found on the play store. Honestly, I hate the Themes app's layout anyway, and wish I could use the other app to choose all notification sounds, but that doesn't seem to be an option.
If anyone else has experienced this issue and/or has any suggestions to fix, I'd appreciate it.
i dont have this bug. try reinstall via software update the full firmware, by the function "download latest package". it's safe, no data loss, and this procedure (that i made mee to) speed up the system

I tried this, unfortunately no change. Multiple notifications still come up with just vibration, despite the sound being enabled and selected. If I go back through and re-select the sound, it works for a while, but will randomly stop a short while later
other sounds works?

Yes, all other sounds seem to work. Ringtones for calls, alarms, media sounds seem to have no issues.
I'll give a specific example: I set the notification sound for Google Voice messages yesterday afternoon. It seemed to work for the rest of the day. Today, I see the notification pop up, but never heard the sound. It's very annoying, so unlikely that I missed it. I checked the settings without changing them, everything is still set correctly.
My suspicion at this point, after having done a bunch of research on how the ringtone picker intent is handled, is that the MIUI settings customization is somehow failing. I believe the notification sounds are stored in the Android settings package, but MIUI has taken over those parts, and somehow that is failing, but I'm not able to dig deeper since MIUI seems to be closed source. Granted, I'm not a dev, and know just enough Java to muddle my way through interpreting and understanding code, so my guess could be totally off.
have you tried remove miui battery optimization from the app that have this problem? and set remove all limitation? sometimes cause notifications issues. also try disable mi notifications app, use only android notification

I removed battery opti.ization from all those apps awhile ago.
As for the Mi notifications app, are you referring to this?
the hest thing u can do is a new clean installation but first u can try change some setttings. but i'm not sure, it's only an ideai. example: open WhatsApp info, and in battery option set remove all limitations instead off miui optimizations. if the priblem don't go away, i think that an update caused this bug so downgrade your firmware to the latest bugless is the better solution. but first u can try modify some setting... or remove the update from sone syatem app if it's possible your bug is particular
I faced the same problem. I use tasker and have one profile that changes the ringtone when connected to office WIFI
it works but then it sort of stops all notification sounds.
Earlier I thought this is some phone setting issue but when i disabled the profile from tasker my notifications are intact.
Probably something to do with theme app.
