[Q] Finding a ROM that has wifi-Driext and NFC

Hi, I am sorry if I dont get the correct terminology, I am not sure of how this works properly. I have been searching for a ROM that I can use on my Galaxy S3 mini i18190N, its got NFC included. Is there one? I have rooted it so for with Cyanogen MOD by Nova, but its not with NFC, and it has major battery problems and the Wifi-Direct doesnt work. I have been with them since last December, but nothing has changed. I am not an expert, so would need a little bit of direction. I have been running the nightlies so I have flashed my phone almost every night since December. I have been using Clockwork Touch to Flash the ROM. My Carrier is EE, in the UK. Can somebody post me in the right direction please.

Hi John
Welcome to the s3 mini forums
i would assume your search did not turn up any information of a ROM that has NFC support
sadly that is because there is none currently
should you wish to have NFC support for your phone it would mean loading a stock ROM and rooting that then making a few mods to that as per your preferences
best place to start would be running a search for the latest firmware for your model of phone then working from there

Buying an Mi5 from china!

I have a few friends who travel occasionally to china and back(India).I have asked my friend to bring a black 64GB variant for me.I am worried if the rom pre-installed(chinese) would be unusable for an indian? Would there be a way to flash the rom Indians recieve on buying from mi.com?
Are you...me? Haha
Your only worry should be that you don't get a defective piece in some way. I got the exact same thing (Black 64GB) for Rs. 29k.
I first flashed the Global ROM which seemed a little buggy and heavy. I then unlocked the bootloader (you should request the unlock code RIGHT AWAY) and flashed the Xiaoumi.EU ROM which works just fine.
I am now just hoping that the kernel source is released soon. Rest everything works as expected. Go for it.

It will be necessary to change rom? Will the stock one be too Chinese-ish ?
P.S. I am buying for Rs.25k! ?

unlock bootloader without the official unlock permission?

Xiaomi isn't responding to my request to unlock the boatloader. Is there a way to unlock it without the official approval?
Sorry for that but it doesn't

I waiting already 10 days...
It is so stupid how they do this. It takes up their time. My phone was already unlocked by the person that I bought the phone from. But when I flashed the latest update, I didn't realize that wipe and lock was checked. Since it is tied to the Mi account, I have to wait for MIUI approval. So stupid!

Anyone on 3 UK (H3G) updated to standard global?

My ROM version is 9.6.6.0 OEAH3GFA and as such I don't seem to be able to get the miui 10 update yet. Has anyone else moved to standard global ROM?
Thanks

I just bought Mi 8 from 3 network as well with the same version, seems there is no way to update to MIUI 10 without unlocking bootloader! 3 network's technical people are clueless, i have applied to unlock bootloader but i have to wait 360 hours. not really happy, i will retuning the phone back to 3 soon, i dont think i will buy Xiaomi phone again.
It's not xiaomis fault that you bought a provider branded device that cannot receive xiaomi otas. Your provider (3) has to adapt every update and push it to your device.
Never buy branded devices. You ****ed yourself mate :/

The guys at Xiaomi told me that the UK updates were to be released soon. Not sure about the truth in that. I'm gonna wait out the bootloader unlock time then flash the global stable over the top and relock the bootloader.
I figure it should be able to be relocked as it is a global stable already just a branded one. Fingers crossed anyway.

Except that's not true. The ROM isn't Three ''branded'' in any way. The phone has no Three branding either. Three haven't done any branding of any kind to ROMs or devices for many years now. The fact the item is sold without stating the ROM is a Three version also means he can't have known this would happen, as you seem to be implying.
Did mine two days ago. Used the MiFlash unlock tool after the 360 hour wait time and then used the MiFlash tool to flash 10.2.2.0 and relock the bootloader. No issues so far

Just received my Mi 9 Chinese version, just some questions.

Hello guys;
A friend of mine went to mainland China and brought me an Mi 9 Chinese version;
We both are from Brazil, and I'm thinking about keep the Chinese version, is there any major downgrade to stay on it?
I was searching around the forum about to flash the European version, but I found it difficult and I'm so worried about mess everything and brick it.
So, that being said, I'm not a heavy user, I just need it for Android Auto, Spotify, Whatsapp and the banking application (mainly it's important).
What you guys think?
Does it have a very detailed step-by-step from Chinese rom for Global/Europe?
Thanks everybody!

I have the same one 8gb ram China phone, I am in UK, first thing my 4g don't work as I need a band 20 (800) of UK networks 4g, but a global rom should sort that out, you need to unlock the bootloader first for that you need to log into your mi account and than keep using the phone for 360 hours than you will be allowed bootloader unlock, if the 4g working? cheers

Flashing a Global or any rom will not do anything to your band 20. So far it is not possible to modify the bands on the Mi 9.
@SanderVisions, I have flashed Xiaomi.eu rom without major problem, it is quite easy but you need to unlock bootloader first. I couldn't flash Global rom on my phone but I think it is my mistake (I messed up with the flash tool at first). Anyway, quite satisfied with the Xiaomi.eu so far, at least it is working for me

Hi, SanderVisions,
I´m in the same situation. I was in Shanghai 2 weeks ago and buy a chinese 8 gb Mi 9. I´m from Brazil too and my bootloader is 2 days of be unlocked.
When you say "european version" you mean xiaomi.eu ROM or the EEA version of official firmware from xiaomi ?
Because it´s made more sense to flash the GLOBAL version if you want to stay in official firmware.
But, as far as I know, to change to other ROM you need a unlocked bootloader and there are some reports that bank applications can have problems with it. You can´t look the bootloader again, if you change the ROM region
Or maybe this problem is related to the root process.
Maybe someone can give more info about unlocked bootloader/ root and bank applications.
At the moment, I think that I will stay with the chinese firmware some more days/weeks until the developers explore a little more of this great phone.
Thanks
Hello guys, I think I'll be in the chinese version for now, when there's a workaround to make the bank app run in unlocked bootloaders I will change it.
My 4G works with no problems here in Brazil, everything works perfect in this phone, just the bloatware chinese, my only concern if this apps will drain my whole battery.

Good thing your 4g is working, someone I know have installed the global rom which sorts out the 4g problem in UK, I am just waiting for the 360 days to be over so that I can unlock bootloader, when you root after bootloader unlocking there is a settings in magisk to hide magisk from apps and if its checked Google pay and other banking apps works but some people still get problems, cheers
this might be helpful,
