Always on display not working - ZTE Nubia Z20 Questions & Answers

Maybe there is something I'm overlooking but I can't get the always on display to work for either screen.
In Settings -> Always on display I have selected both to be switched on and have applied a video to both.
I've tried applying a variety of different types but it still won't come on, even after a reboot.
What am I missing?
NX627J_V1AMB with build NX627J_ENCommon_V2.03. The phone came with V1.03 and it was not working with this either.
Thanks

You have to enable ambient display, which is actually always on display

That was it - thank you!

Ambient display doesn't work for me. When I receive a notification the screen doesn't wake up. I don't use always on display and I have to use a play store app only for wake up the screen when notification comes.

It is not ambient display like oneplus, nubia defines ambient display Always on

And this option doesn't work for me... the screen doesn't wake up when I receive a notification.

Yes, but I mean in quick toggles

omnirom with kitkat in our phone; battery and performance is great. i wish same things continues.
Camera app doesn't work. Brightness control is absent. Locking the device does not turn off the display (it merely causes the screen to go black, which consumes more power in TFT displays). Once these bugs are fixed, we will have a perfect ROM.
Great work though. All you kind developer's works means I can keep the same phone for two more years minimum.

Sensitive LockScreen Notifications

On my previous Lollipop phone it was possible to set an apps notification to Hide Sensitive Content to prevent it from displaying specific details on the lock screen. A really good feature of Lollipop that I'm really missing here now on the Mate S.
I know this is EMUI 3.1 but just wondered if anyone knows how to activate this same setting, its got to be in there somewhere.

You can find the setting under "Screen lock and password" in settings.

yeah I've tried that but that appears to only be relevant to Messages (i.e text messages) it doesnt seem to affect other apps like WhatsApp.
Thanks though, any other suggestions?

LG G4 Proximity sensor problem

Hi everyone,
So my proximity sensor works normally as it should during calls and for auto brightness cos i don't even like manually adjusting my brightness all day until last month when i updated to the "Android 6.0.1 Software version H81120x". I did this update in the night so i dint notice any change with my auto brightness until i wanted to make a call and this screen appeared

"lightbox_next": "Next",

"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
and i was like "cool, it's a new feature". Next day i noticed my auto brightness wasnt working again, after alot of toiling about looking for a fix as the proximity sensor calibration failed, i downloaded an app "Proximity sensor reset" and it worked again and that screen was gone but after some time the screen would come back and my proximity sensor wont work again. And now the proximity sensor wont work again even when i flashed a new rom, it still has the same screen and the auto brightnes still wont work. Please any workaround this as i'm supper sure that the sensor is not hardware broken. Thanks

Tasker custom settings not working (screen off)

Hello.
I have such a problem with the tasker. I have created a task that turns on always on display when it receives notifications. I used secure setting: aod_switch 1. The problem is that when the screen is turned off, it doesn't work, only when I turn the screen on and off, it turns on always on display. Do you have any idea what is wrong? Phone Huawei P30 pro with emui 12.
It worked fine in the previous version (emui 11)
on my Samsung A71., aod_switch is meant for me 'Always on display' .
This is for OMLED screen when screen is off, showing the clock on the screen. So that aod_switch not sure if it meet your need as you are looking for keep screen turn on. If you want to make sure , goolge aod + your device model to see search result.
Facing similar problem on my oneplus 9 pro after updating to os13, so i have added a new action category "Display--Turn On=100ms, whenever selected app get notification display turn on=100ms and after screen off AOD On. Hope it helps

Outdoor mode enabled for always (Fix display problems)

Please reply
I'm a big fan of one ui
But my both galaxy note 9 devices haveing same flickering yellow tint brightness issue.
It's fixed by setting up brightness to maximum level on aosp ROM and bypassed yellow tint brightness issue and control brightness using a app called PWMfree.

It's a very different story when it's a Samsung rom they don't allow to reach maximum brightness.
But when outdoor mode enabled 100% problem solved. The main problem is outdoor mode is only able to keep it up 15 minutes. I know it's basically a protection to keep my display safe but I can't use Samsung roms because of this problem.
Can anyone give me a mod or fix or something for Samsung roms to keep on always outdoor mode enabled...
(Really important for me to fix a big issue)
I recently had a app called - high brightness mod -
Buts it's not working properly but it's the only way to use Samsung roms for me the app is not updated for a long time. It's a pretty good app but have lot of issues not working properly.
Did u find the way? If not try this
