Can I go back to .153 from .178? - Huawei P30 Pro Questions & Answers

Hi guys,
Is there a way to go back from .178 to .153. Android 10 of course. Via OTG?
Thanks a lot.

You can downgrade to EMUI 9.1 v 9.1.0.260 using HiSuite PC version 10 and then using a dload firmware you can flash by OTG v10.0.0.168, the first one available for EMUI 10 as dload firmware.
If you try to flash an older firmware or downgrade on EMUI 10 from v173 or v178 to v 168 you might get a sofbricked device (downgrade was tested by an user and got himself an softbrick, now waiting for a solution, because flashing v178 didn't help him reviving its unit).

Deci mai bine o las balta.
So its best to let it go and wait for the next one.
Multumesc Silviule.

Ah ok, now that I read more carefully, I understand that I can do it, just not directly, but by going through android 9 first and then upgrading. Thank you, I will follow those steps then. Hai sa traiesti.

ENG: Yep, first downgrade to 9.1 using HiSuite PC from the link i've shared and then using dload firmware from that OP install v168.
RO: Yegzact . Întâi folosește HiSuite pentru PC din link-ul meu și apoi folosește firmware-ul dload din al doilea link, în OP, v168

Because you don't have to... The updates are not being rolled out at the same time in every region (by that I mean, Eastern/Central and Western Europe has both C432 and in Central Europe, I have noticed that we get the updates with a noticeable delay). Plus, sometimes you need the firmware because you need to unbrick, reflash, or extract something from the ROM image, this thread serves for these purposes too.

OTA rollout seems to be very slow-paced, here in Italy (region C432) people is still stuck to B131 and IIRC B151 came out more than 15 days ago.
I'm quite happy someone is publishing firmware updates her on xda

Considering you only want to update, and you have a correct firmware version, extract the UPDATE.APP file to a folder called "dload" (without quotation marks) that you create in your internal storage. After that, reboot your phone.
Just installed with TWRP and all fine!
Seems to be faster!
What s new?:d

Whenever you flash a new update, you lose root and recovery. The bootloader remains unlocked, so just flash twrp again and root again.
I just updated my phone from VNS-L21C432B130 to VNS-L21C432B151 and I dont know am I wrong, but it seems that the battery discharges faster on VNS-L21C432B151 then on VNS-L21C432B130

Hi guys,
I'm wondering whether it's safe to apply this update using the huawei updater software?
Will it delete my data or brick my phone?
Thanks in advance for any replies

I tried that too man, also tried the huawei updater software but it didn't work because it isn't a 'full' file but an ota one.
I wish there was a way to do it, pretty much tried everything now apart from rooting which would scrub my data.

Did You try flash FULL B339 first? Maybe then dload to B430?
Any clue?
Im in same situation, tried 3 files from firmware finder, 339 and then 340. No entanto of them work amd Maybe is related with the file type, is an OTA só we have two solutions: wait or debrand

Debranding would mean loosing our data and it's hard to run a proper backup without having root and Titanium Backup. Man I wish there was a way to just apply the update, the file's there so it obviously exists it's just impossible to install it.
I reckon we're going to have to wait unfortunately, hopefully they'll release a full version soon. Waiting for OTA updates with Vodafone is a fool's errand. When I got the phone B137 had been out for a month or two and it still hadn't been received by my phone so I had to dload flash it. If they don't release a full flash (which hopefully they will) we'll be waiting for a long time
Seems like We will have to wait for official update...
Found solution!

After flashing B339 through Huawei Updater I flashed B340 through dload without loosing any data.

Update's running great. I've already noticed a boost in battery life and the UI is much better.
It was really easy, if you just follow the second method on the website you should be fine.
Didn't loose any data at all.

In firmware finder you need to make sure the option for OTA is selected in the settings in order to find the right B340.
I flashed the smaller b340 and then the larger file.
Seems like the build nu!her hasn't updated but the kernel version and security patch date have changed.
Haven't noticed any difference from B339 though.

Hi all, I updated to L09C02B339 last week following the 2nd method, all went well. I have since tried to update to B340 and more recently to B341 using FF, putting the update file on dload folder. Yes, and I still seem unapproved. The Situation is annoying but I do not want to take risks with other methods. It feels terrible to have Others get updates and have to wait. I control it repeatedly throughout the Day. I'll have Psychological discomfort. Haha ? We'll wait a while.

Beste Gerard,

Hello everyone,
I have a P20 Pro CLT L09.
I am from Italy.
My girlfirend has just recieved the new update from EMUI 9.1 to EMUI 10.
Because of trouble with 9.1 I was on 9.0.
So yesterday i made the update to 9.1, becuas i thougt, that so I would also receive the 10.0 update.
But on the HiCare App and on the settings to update the Software, there stands, that I have the actually version of EMUI. And it is the 9.1.
How can I now upgrade to EMUI 10?
I tried this https://www.getdroidtips.com/huawei-p20-pro-android-10/
With this method: https://www.getdroidtips.com/how-to-use-huawei-smartphone-multi-download-tool/
But there is no .xml file in the downlaoded firmware file, so I can not proceed the flash.
Who can help me?
Thank you

Thanks, but are you sure that i can go from Android 10 to Android 8 with Hisuite?
Just from 10.0 till 9.0.0.246.
I managed to downgrade from 10.0.0.180 to 9.1.0.320.
But now, hisuite dosen't give option for rollback to older version anymore...
