As you all probably know, Android 8.0 Oreo was released yesterday, so I thought it would be a good idea to start a thread on news and information related to our device. Feel free to add as you will.

I'm not sure, but hopefully, seeing as the original P8 Lite 2015 got at least one major update

Being a 2017 smartphone version, I think at least we should recieve the 2017 version of Android[emoji1] The question is 'when'.

in middle east the update is awful , when i restore the backup from cris my device build number had been change to lx1 it was la1 so my device get updated to fast , so i hope we will get O as soon as possible

My dream is to have AOSP Android 8 on my device :'(

Yesterday I have already written this, but is has disappeared anyhow.
I know that Android 8 on Honor 6x will come. Both devices have the same system. If Android 8 should not come for the PRA, I can port it quite simply from 6x.
Result: We get it!

So, why we had not receive, and we'll never receive, the 5.1 update...?
I'm not so sure that the P8 Lite 2017 will recive the Android 8 update.
Huawei's policy about updates is pretty clear: they don't guarantee updates to newer Android versions but only patches for 2 years.
I really hope we'll receive Oreo, but I'm pretty sceptic until Huawei will not officially announce it.

I had already read this article, and it says "L’aggiornamento dovrebbe quasi sicuramente (ancora nessuna ufficialità) arrivare per:" (for non-italian speakers: "The update it's almost sure (still not official) to arrive for:") , this is why I'm still sceptical about it... :fingers-crossed:

if this one is single sim is ok, I won't to install dual again then..

A few members in the Honor 6X forum met up with Honor/Huawei representatives in Delhi in August and they confirmed that the 6X will receive Android Oreo/EMUI 6 by the end of 2017/ January 2018 at the latest. So good news for us!

I asked Huawei about this on Facebook and they said there's no info available yet. But we should get it, it's a 2017 device, that already shipped with nougat.

So today I asked Huawei about Huawei GR3 2017 being updated to EMUI 8 and they confirmed that it'll get the update in September
Since this device is named by the country it's in it's safe to assume that these are getting the update too:

well after this, I'm gonna to work back on my ALE-L21.. waiting to that month is a disgrace. Nokia are faster with updates

They found out a way to port EMUI 8.0 to our device
But I don't know if it is suitable to install as a daily driver??

The rollout has started, i have received OTA to Oreo b364. I am on full stock, and my phone is a p8 lite 2017 free from spain.

I received it too. I have PRA-LX1 (P9 Lite 2017) from Vodafone Greece. Its the official and stable version!

Official EMUI 10 Update Huawei P30 Pro [EU]

When will the official update of EMUI 10 come to the P30 Pro in Europe?
This is the first time using an android phone and I've heard some things about a beta, but I don't know how stable the beta is so I'm waiting untill the official update. However, the only info I could get about a official stable build of EMUI 10 for the P30 Pro is "November".
Can somebody tell me when exactly the update will release in Europe?

Hi m8,
Only Huawei can tell you the day when it will start seeding EMUI 10 in Europe.
What we know for sure, as is stated here, is that the Chinese market will get the stable version before mid-November. My guess is that in Europe it will be released in December.

I just asked the official huawei support when the Android 10 update is going to be released in Finland and they responded that it will be delivered in batches during november.

That's great, then you will have to wait and see if you're in the first batch for EMUI 10 in November or in for December, as Huawei UK stated here.

I'm from Portugal and after reading this i went to HiCare and also got the update, in fact i got two updates, one "minor" and the 10.0.0 update

I am not offered the Q Update.
Live in Germany.

I've been checking update since forever. These things get me stressed and nervous. No news so far.
My phone is running 9.1.0.233(C605E1R1P1). From Dominican Republic.

There are still no updates in Slovakia ? I have Huawei mate 20 Lite 9.1.0.266 (C432E4R1P1)

Well, if the phone is from a supplier you have to wait till the company, in this case MEO ALTICE, releases the update , my phone is free from carrier so i got the update...

Today I checked and, due to all the fails hoping to find the EMUI 10 update, I was going to stop the checking. But then I saw the red(or orange dot) saying there's an update. And when I read better, it was the 9.1.0.257. :crying::crying::crying::crying:

I updated also to 10 using hicare. But i don't have AOD. Anyone have a same problem?

Does nobody have the Android 10 update and can make it available to us?

no probleme here, AOD will not work on Mate 20 Lite

Thanks for the tip! I had to activate HiCare, update the app and after that to search for FW updates from the Hicare. There was a 10.11MB update and after checking again the FW updates from the HiCare app I got the Android 10 upgrade.
Installing it and testing now.

It seems that I can no longer connect to 5Ghz Wi-fi after upgrading to Android 10.
Anyone is having the same issue?

I saw the thread, tried and nothing. A few hours later I was going to to write saying that I was not getting it when I checked and got it. It is downloading. I'll report after it finishes and I try it more thorughfully.
I had Mate 20 Lite 9.1.0.266 (C432E4R1P1) before the upgrade. Downloading now 10.0.0.148 (C431E10R1P1)

I got "patch package" 10.0.0.148 (C431E10R1P1patch01).
Apparently all works well in a quick check: gps, nfc, wifi seems to work better, both 2.4 and 5GHz... A few packages got upgraded. Nothing strange in logcat, except several messages per second from "HwKVConnectionPool" complaining that it could not create cache directory "for some reasons", and some other logspamming activity.

maybe because its a Vodafone carrier phone?

I am in the UK on EE. I am running 9.1.0.240 and have not had an update since October. I have complained to my network provider who referred me to Huawei. I have contacted Huawei, but they do not respond.

Thanks. I have tried that to, but without any success so far. It is worrying that I have missed at least 4 Android security patches, and Huawei won't respond.

HiSuite may be a solution, but it's also a hassle that shouldn't have to be done. OTA updates by design are intended to make the process almost effortless.
But not having an update since last October is abysmal by anyone's standards.
I'm with three UK and have been running 10.0.0.178 for around a month, Security Patch is 1 December 2019, and as we're now almost half way through March I feel I should be on the very latest update.
Huawei definitely consider their home market more important than ROW.

I contacted Huawei UK by email about 5 weeks ago... response came day before yesterday ......

A few hours after my post above my device received a new OTA update.
It's now running 10.0.0.186, security patch 1 January 2020.
Although I'd prefer more timely updates I'm still glad I received this latest one.

i was on ee with an unlocked p30 pro..no update at all...swapped out sim card for a Three network sim and bang....update straight away....weird but it worked.

Hi m8,
According to this post and after talking to @demurov, your device is not a demo unit - https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=82043915&postcount=529. For you to get latest EMUI 10, Huawei needs to release the update. Whille on EMUI 9.1 could use the dload firmware from C432 (international firmware version) to update your device, things are different in EMUI 10 and you need to flash the same firmware as your actual cust is, otherwise you can get yourself with a softbricked phone.
As i've mentioned in my post, users who have WEC custs CAN TEST (be aware of softbrick, though) using the methods from my post, but there's NO guarantee it will work and still remains the big problem of having a softbrick device whille waiting for a Huawei EMUI 10 dload firmware for WEC custs phones
Also, did you check for an update using HiSuite PC v10? Or maybe using eRecovery? Last weekend helped an WEC user through PM's to get updated untill v9.1.0.260, using dload firmware and HiSuite.

My O2 got the EMUI 10 update a long time ago now. Must just be EE who are really bad with updates.

is it possible that the corona crisis is delaying the updates?
I'm still on 10.0.0.178 C605, security patch December 1, 2019. Is that normal?
I do not want to do the full wipe variant.

I don't think so, because the firmware is long time released.
If you don't want to use dload firmware, have you tried with HiSuite PC or eRecovery method, both ways without SIM inside?

Sometime, your carrier delay your updates, therefore cheching without SIM inside is better than with it (tested by many users from xda) ?
