Hi, I am getting ready to purchase a Mi 8 from AliExpress.
The seller lets you choose to prevent them from opening the box to do quality control checks and flashing the global ROM. Personally, I think I am going to opt-in to received an unopened/untouched device, because I'm pretty sure I can flash the global ROM by myself, and I don't want whatever happened in this thread happening to me. Is this the right choice?
Otherwise, I think I am ready to buy it! I already confirmed it will work on my carrier (AT&T), and the seller is a recommended vendor according to reddit. Anything else I should know before pulling the trigger?
Thanks in advance.
Bootloader wont be unlocked out of the box and you'll have to wait 15 days to unlock it.

Mine isnt and its been fine. Just get a phone from a Xiaomi Certified stores and also do a background check if they are offering a return or replacement for factory damaged phones. Dont accept anything that would cost you cheaper than the recommended price.
Hello everyone, and I apologize for the newb question but I have tried everything and can't seem to figure this out. I purchased a k20 pro about 4 months ago from a store in Cambodia. After I purchased it, I did a factory reset and it will not let me into the phone without logging into the original account. I have been told the phone is not in find mode so it is possible to bypass the login screen. Does anyone know how to do this? Thanks in advance.
Can't bypass login. Probably try aosp roms

If you have starter pack item (box, warranty card, purchase order), you can send photo as proof to Official Support.

My experience it's work with Indonesia region.

I have used the lock screen disabler with customs rom before. Not sure if it works on your device though.
Can you share what screen you're getting ? I might help you out.
Recently i bought a smashed Xiaomi MI 9 Lite. After the replacement parts came,i assembled it but the phone has the MI account activation lock.I contacted the previous owner and he deleted the device from his MI account (he sent me a proof) but the phone still has the activation lock.I must respect the seller decision that he will not give his password so i am really stuck.I tried several youtube, google methods but none of them worked, bootloader is also locked. I would really appreciate if someone could help me

Did you know where can I get the main board of this? Some website that is safe, i suspect that is not cheap.
Thanks

Aliexpress provides a lot of spare parts for Xiaomi but for this model, I can't find it.
Maybe because of the price
https://xiaomiplanets.com/xiaomi-mi-11-ultra-price-list-repairs/
Found here but no idea if it's a trusted site.
https://www.cellspare.com/xiaomi-mi-11-ultra-motherboard-pcb*
$399

Is it still charging?
Check if it is not in EDL mode.
Install the drivers and connect it to the pc.
Search qualcomm drivers EDL mode.
I see an option weeks ago from aliexpress, for 250$, but the seller told that it comer without any rom installed, so i had to put it myself so i got doubt about it.
But 250$ is way better than 400$ i guess

Are you sure it's the motherboard? (see my post).
To this must be added the glue kit and the flex cable.
There is not avaible right now because the seller is on vacations, but defintely is the main board or motherboard

Iranian website

If you can change the motherboard you should be able to flash ROM by yourself. Its easier than installing motherboard.

"but the seller told that it comer without any rom installed"
Wouldn't it rather be the firmware?

Another option is to send to an experienced tech , ask them to reball the SOC.
No need for new mainboard.
Here they show how they fix it

If there is a rom, there is firmware, firmware and rom are two different things.
The firmware connects the hardware part to the software part.
If you have firmware, you can install any version of Rom with Miflash since the firmware is included in the rom.
You will probably have to use EDL mode to flash firmware on a motherboard without firmware, which is quite tricky and requires special permissions.

Can send to a good electronic/phone repair tech in your city , this procedure is commonly done on other things like PC,laptops,TV as well.
They'll need reballing stencil kit , you can order it from here
