Hi,
I have a Samsung TV with AllShare(DLNA) functionality. I was reading that I can see on TV contacts, calendar etc from my Galaxy S using ScreenShare function. But I don't know how. In the TV User Manual is written "In Samsung mobile, ScreenShare must be installed and the supporting application must be executed; Then you can use the ScreenShare Function".
Can somebody help me?
Thanks,
BR,
Mircea
I have the same problem.
Samsungs User Manual talks about "ScreenShare", but there is no apk for mobile in the Android market or in the Samsung web page. Web searching, without solutions.
Fake advertising???
ScreenShare on Galaxy S
I’ve called Samsung and… Bla Bla Bla… no solution yet. So, fake advertising
yeah, samsung support from romania suck!
they said for android we must search on market for that application but on bada it is implemented.
Have you tried with the Allshare app that is pre-instaled on our SGS?

AllShare in SGS doesn't support screenshare, only DLNA (music, video, pics)
That sucks, i just spent 1000USD for TV which as they said in store will work.
Well, both TV and SGS have allshare sticker, but it seems these are different definition of ALLshare.
The rumour says that SGS II will support screen share ? well, hopefully this app can be used on SGS I.
hey i have the samsung galaxy s 2 and a samsung tv but cant see any screenshare options on this phone though, any ideas anybody?
Well, start Your TV, and AllShare -> ScreenShare function
Then in SGS II in AllShare look for ScrennShare function.
Samsung Support in Poland said, none of european phones can ScreenShare.
In US, they told me that US models of SGS do shere screen - and sent me to UK. cuz:
" we on live chat can only talk about mobile phones " to talk about TV connect with different division "
:: LOL and then should i have to open chat windows hahah

How were you able to get this to work?
Typical Samsung, they have released a remote tv app for their Smart TVs called Allshare Control.
It installs (Play claims it is compatible with the Note), then flops with the usual bad grammar "AllShare Framework does not installed, the application will exit". S3 users claim some success.
Thanks Samsung - why can't you make products that integrate? Ever heard of product integration? It's when products you make actually work together?
But then again, this is Samsung. Silly me, of course they can't.
These are the people who convinced me to buy a "Smart TV" with apps, like a browser. Er, how do I type? With those big arrow keys on your tv remote, of course!
Ever tried to enter text using one of these? Absolute joke, no it's worse than that, it's some form of primitive torture. Practically fraudulent it's so awful.
Anyone anywhere know if there's a way we can get the Note to interact with a new LED Samsung TV, with or without AllShare Control? Can we hijack the AllShare Framework from an S3?
No replies - but found an answer, entirely unofficial but brilliant SamyGoRemote. Works pretty well for text input, which is the killer app for tv browsing. Recommended.

Hi, I have Samsung UE40ES6100, the "samsung remote" app works, but there is no keyboard, and the slide/mouse works too slow. The "sammyGo remote" app doesn't seem to discover the TV. Are there any alike apps you know ?
P.S. I have an xperia neo, but I don't think that could be the problem

Not working on S4 i337
In the Settings "More Settings..." there is a "Nearby devices" item that says "Share your media files via DLNA". So the DLNA abbrev appears, but what the heck can you actually do with it. I have a Samsung TV that supposedly can access DLNA files, but the camera doesn't show up as a device on the TV, nor does the TV show up as a device on the Camera. I'm not really all that hot to use DLNA, but I'm curious what this stuff actually means since it shows up on the Camera. Anyone know how to do anything with these DLNA settings?
OK, New info: I played around with it some more, and found that if I login to the AllShare Play app, then the Nearby Devices settings actually do something (weirdly, the AllShare app doesn't seem to be involved anymore - there aren't any controls in that app I did anything with, just logged in and exited). Now when I turn on the file sharing toggle in Settings, my TV sees the camera and I can look at photos (but I haven't found any video that works yet).
Maybe you can try the "all share cast dongle" accessories .. some friends of mine already tested to some TVs and monitor .. they also tried with some projectors not only with HDMI but also with VGA by buying an converter HDMI-VGA cable ..
Hi,
I am looking for a way to mirror the screen to an external display while using Gear VR.
I tried screen mirroring (screencast) however when I get to "my videos" the screen blacks out.
any methods ?
I'd appreciate any comments.
Not possible ?
I tried to cast my screen to my Chromecast before inserting my phone into my VR. It will show images in 10 - 15 second intervals. These images are also in a split screen view so not too effective for others to see what you see. Not sure if its just too much for the CPU or what.
Afaik it is currently possible with "MirrorOp".
Check this thread out from the oculus forums: Gear VR S6 Screen Mirroring / Chromecast problem
(especially this posting for setup details)
Best way I found is to use samsung's Sidesync app. It takes a couple trys but it works! You just use the wifi sync and you can mirror the screen over to your pc
I see that the mini has HDMI, two USB and an Ethernet port.
1. Can I plug a 23 inch monitor into that HDMI port and will it be full screen?
2. Also, I have an external 1.5 TB hard drive that had its own power source, can I use that with the mini?
I have an aging HP tower computer that I'm looking to replace. I know that there mini isn't as powerful as a desk computer; I won't be able to compile a ROM for my Nexus 5X, or ruin the latest desktop game. I'm just looking for a system that can run some general office apps, such as I can get from the Play Store, and access the web. I have Amazon Prime so I do stream movies and TV shows.

Thank you. But, what do you mean it's only possible if we have root? I did read in another thread that the latest version took out the Play Store, but that it was still possible to install the Google Play Services. As far as Amazon you can just download the Underground app via the web.

Yes to both. Amazon Video must be downloaded thru the browser thou.

Definitely. I have a 42 in tv connected to mine. Pretty good setup wizard for adjusting screen, scaling, but mine was good out of the box.

Definitely, plus there is a micro SD slot. My external doesn't auto power so I just turn it on when I use it, no fault to the Mini. According to your stated use as a streaming machine, Kodi is very good on the Mini (using Jarvis from Play Store (and the Google Play Store app is loadable from installed app with latest updates; something about Google asking them to remove it stock since Jide weren't doing much to optimize apps but most tend to work anyway) and it came stock on original OS).
So while I have an external drive connected, between Kodi, the 16GB drive on board, the SD card, USB for thumb drive (the other has an air mouse/keyboard dongle), I don't use the external drive at all. Docs and pics best on Google drive anyway and there's an app for that.

Exactly why I got one! Much lower power use, quiet and small.
I still use a tower as my daily because I'm used to it and have a good setup with multiple screens and a desk and don't want to sit on the couch and use a small wireless keyboard mouse for docs and web search, but no reason not to move this to a desk when not using on TV, it's small and portable.

Is there an Android app for compiling? Yes! Then you can probably do it.
Drawbacks: an occasional black screen flicker of a couple seconds; the IR sensor hasn't been developed and it picks up signals from other remotes and does weird things (Vizio remote volume down will make Kodi on Mini run video backwards; soundbar remote makes Mini go into power down mode that can't be cancelled); support troubleshooting is non-existent (if someone replies they'll ask dozens of questions, keep asking for more info, ask for a video of problem, yada yada, but no answers) check out the Jide Support pages and you'll see what I'm talking about.
This link makes it $49.99 and I wouldn't spend more than that on it. https://shop.jide.com/en/detail?pid=10&fcode=IB13MTTJLBTZTWOZZPYO

Yeah, know you mean Kodi.
If you don't know...you be missin' out big!!!
Basically it's more than you can imagine media wise, streamed to most devices (streamed so no P2P downloading, saving and waiting on big files, abuse letters from ISP, none of that). When new to it install on whatever device and then start with a simple addon like Exodus, not a whole special build as that is confusing for the newcomer (blew my mind, too many choices, confusion). That will stream tons of tv shows, movies, sports, etc. Then there are specialized addons for music, concerts, racing, anime, old movies and tv, etc. Initial set up may look complicated but just follow instructions from one of the thousand web pages and/or youtube videos. Even my wife can handle it all once we cut the cable tv cord, and she much prefers it.
Basically it's freakin' amazing and after a decades of paying and it going to $150 a month to watch a couple shows, baseball and formula 1, I feel we've paid our dues (I'd guess $25,000). Still pay $30 a year for the MLB app, and of course the internet bill.
Yeah, that's what I get for sending before I double checked that spell checker didn't change anything. Stupid autocorrect.
Thanks again for all the great info.
