Low capacity battery after 9 months...help! - Xiaomi Mi 9 Questions & Answers

Hi, at the beginning my battery drained 11-% / hour when playing at real racing 3, now it drains 19 % / hour in the same conditions. I have reinstalled my phone (stock phone) and nothing changed..[emoji19]
I checked with accu battery : my battery is only 2536 mah (vs 3300 mah) and 78 % max capacity now..[emoji19]
Can somebody checked too with accu battery the health of your mi9 after some months of use ? Thank you.

Don't keep it on the charger when it's full next time

Yes I will try your tips but I haven't so much hope[emoji21]. It seems that the mi9 batteries deteriorate in some few months....
Please install accu battery on the play store and you will see the health of your battery and tell me the result...
Several people I know have lost 20 % and more capacity of battery in less than a year.
Normally we shouldn't lose more than 8 to 10 percent by year of intense use.
(When I had HTC and Samsung that was at this level ...)

Mine is 74% and I have terrible screen on time results. Phone is great but battery...

It's worth it. The cheapest snapdragon 855 device in the world.

Me my screen got burn in and phone got black screen after brick they fixed for free by warranty and was unlocked and changed the battery even it was only 6 months and I installed back extended ui rom i love the phone

It is a pity the battery to be so hard to replace... life would be easier with replaceable batteries, no need to worry about how to charge the phone

There are many things that can damage battery longevity.
- Fast charging. Biggest offender. I never fast charge my phones. I mean I did my Note 4 and had to swap batteries every year (thankfully that was an easy task back then.)
- Topping up to 100%. Though I really don't follow this one and I didn't see any big degradation, so not sure how big of an effect this one has.
- Battery heat.

Huawei P10 screen on time?

So I'm getting around 3h 30m by 25% of screen on time which is then like cca 4h 30m for a full drain... Is that normal for a brand new phone? I mean battery is good but I don't know is it good enough for a brand new mobile...
Can't post a link of a screenshot because this is my second post

Have Oreo on my C432 P10 rebranded to dualsim ... got about 4-5 hours SoT (wifi all time on, gps on, data on, Whatsapp, messenger, game (two dots), browsing, tkaing pictures).
Now testing HyperPlus kernel which should give baout 1 hour SoT extra due to optimizations.

P10 New Battery

Hi guys!
I recently got a new battery for my P10, since the old one was... well old and drained fast.
The new battery lasts longer, but once it reaches around 50% it goes to 1% and turns off.
I tried re-calibrating by draining it, charging to 100% while turned off and then using it.
Does anyone have any suggestions on what I can do to fix this?
Thanks!

Hi
I had the same problem when I replaced P10 battery purchased from online. So I took to a local repair shop and they replaced the battery and now working fine. That says that the one I got from online was a fake or bad quality battery. As P10 battery was not available in the market here the repair shop installed a Huawei GR5 phone battery as they said all spares are same for both the model.
Hope this helps your problem.
Thanks for the tip! I reached out to the seller of the battery and he'll send a new one. If that one does not work, I guess I'll have to find a new one online. Thanks a lot!
I had the same problem with a battery from ebay.
Finally I bought a battery from Green Cell and no problem
Hi, just to know : is it difficult to change the battery ?

Battery capacity very low, is it normal?

Hi,
I have a mi 9 till 9 months and my battery is very bad now.
I have made my usual benchmark test to check..
1 hours of you tube drained 8 % / hour and now it is 14 percent!
1 hour playing my favorite game real racing 3 drained 12 % / hour and now it drains 19 percent/hour...
I have reinitialised my phone but the problem is still here...
Such a loss of battery life in 6 months is normal? [emoji50]

Have you flashed any ROMs? Did you use a kernel tweaker? Are all of the apps on autostart? Lastly, did you keep the device plugged in alot?
No I am all stock, auto stop only for some apps, and I never use my phone plugged or let it plugged for a long time.
I am an old Android user and that's the first time I lose so much battery capacity in only 9 months... My old s7edge has only lost around 20 % battery in...4 years.

Try to change the ROM e g. Derpfest ROM and never discharge lower than 3%
If you use a new ROM charge to 100 % but if reached disconnect (not over night). Let it discharge normally to 2 or 3 % then without stopping charge up to 100% and then try again your normal usage and tell your experience.
This is my personally recommendation and not a must.
My Mi9 transparent edition with 8GYB 256GB is now around 1 year and still about 6 to 7 hours SOT in around 30 hours standby.
I'm using smart charge and I can recommend to charge maximum to 90% and charge again lower than 5%

What is your New Phone's Battery Health ?

Phones have batteries that usually worn out in usage, but getting good battery health in device is lucky for some only, you can measure battery health in apps like accubattery while charging, report your battery health here and age of device and type of usage.
My device battery health is 93% is it okay or i have to replace with new one, only 2 days old device, has 8 more days of return period.
I wouldn't trust too much on those kind of apps, you can compare the measurements between different apps and they will be different always, so it tells me that they are not so accurate. For example, since my phone was new, I got the same "battery health" status as yours, coincidence? I don't think so, for some reason this app can only read our batteries with 93%. I would recommend you to test your battery with different types of usage, light and heavy usage and compare it to the other users that have posted they SOT here.

I have 94% on accubattery app. I uses a USB metter tool and i have +- 3700 mah After a 0 -100% charge session.
With that i have 10hr of screen on. I have m'y 9t pro since 2 week. Global Rom on 11.0.3.
I'm happy with that. Maybe they keep a margin so as not to discharge the whole battery. for autonomy I believe it is important not to install version 11.0.4 which seems drained the battery
