What's required to make developers work on the x2 pro?
I don't get it, why there isn't anyone paying attention for this device?
I guess many users are willing to fund this process.

The phone is pretty much perfect,the only thing holding it back is color os
I have havoc os gsi right now on my device and I really think it would be great if a couple of things were added to it
-90 hz refresh rate
-face unlock and fingerprint unlock
-stock color os camera
-slight optimization for the animations
I believe this would be a perfect Rom if those were added to it
we need this badly
Giving up finger unlock is not acceptable in exchange with a decent software, this device is a true beast.
I came from pocophone using havoc, and i can't imagine using any other rom!
I guess we are stuck on colorOS for a long time..
Unfortunately, my dreams to see a PE ou havoc ROM are gone..

I've searched threads. How can I participate in donation? I would like to have a custom ROM, so give a little donation it's a good thing to do.
Many people are willing to donate for custom ROMs,this phone is a step away from being perfect,best price best quality but a very bad software

For those having trouble how to find the telegram groups:
Install Telegram application. Open the app > Tap on the magnifying glass icon on the upper right corner > write Realme X2 Pro Official > tap on the name of the group in the list > tap join > done!
Good luck. Check the group and messages before donating anything to anyone.
Just my opinion on the matter and not to curb anyones excitement but I won't hold my breath for a regular custom rom support because a) Realme is not a well known brand yet, unless Indian devs decide to do something I won't see this getting much progress, b) Realme and its owner Oppo are not custom rom friendly brands. I want to be wrong but my experience says otherwise.

i hate people who always ask something like its no big deal because all they know is they purchase something and they get the benefits in an instant.
not all devs can get their hands on this type of Chinese smartphone since most of these phones are shipped mainly from china and the duration and tax are making it hard to purchase. so please don't beg for something so out of the blue; like asking for your parent to give you a dog by just giving them your tantrum. this is porting your asking and it takes a large amount of time for someone to create/port/modify/bug fix/and handle someone like you who'll eventually complain for everything like the OP/dev is always at fault. please close this thread.

If you are not getting the file using the link, go to http://opensource.samsung.com & search with 705gm. You will get the file.

This was the situation with Lenovo p2. But dev's eventually got in and now they have a great development curve.... the p2 users donated money for one dev to buy p2 for development and well. That was initiated by a user. And development kickstarted soon after.

We can check in custom rom telegram groups for this. But also check with certified developers in xda as well. PM would do here.

But first, we need to organize users who would be able and willing to donate. Once enough people are there and we can figure out on total if the amount offered is sufficient enough, we can start contacting dev's. After we have a dev ready to help, then start pooling in money and purchase the set and send ot to the dev.

just a heads up. according to XDA rules. donation threads have to be created by the developer itself who is interested in the device development. he has to green lit such a thread with an XDA admin. if it gets created by forum users it gets closed pretty soon as it is against the rules.
so first step would be finding an recognized developer willing to spend his free time on the device.

two options comes to mind.
A: look into devs that were or still are maintaining Samsung (Snapdragon based) phones and might be interested in the A70.
B: look into devs that maintain a device that has the same SoC (or SoC family) as those devs will have less than half as much work (it does depend on how far the kernel deviated from code aurora code) to maintain a second device if they have already established the knowledge on the primary device.

The Operative Phrase Here Is: "Still Maintaining Samsung (Snapdragon Based) Phones".
In the U.S... Samsung Snapdragon devices have their bootloaders locked down.. ( Per Carrier's Request ) so you have Zero ROM Development..
IMO.. you have to love this device for what it brings to the table stock ( Widvine L1, Themes, AR Emoji, UI, Gaming etc ) just in case nothing Custom sprouts.. :angel:

I am trying to make twrp for the device. Because this is my first time, I need device tree to be prepared. As of now, my attempts have not given any results. If you can help, would be great.

If I understood that correctly, Cosmin Tanislav is working on it and the Telegram channels mentioned above are posting his new builds.
Do you know more than me about the chance of official builds of Cosmin - is there anything we can do to make this happen?

Yeah, that's true. Moreover similar devices are really well supported these days. It seems that One Plus attracted and captured many developers this year... Not the same for Mi9 unluckily... And K20/K20 Pro/Mi9t/Mi9t Pro released subsequently may steal the show too.
We will see...
Well Cosmin's December 19 build runs extremly smooth, as said already in the Lineage thread. However, I'd be curious to learn where we could report some little bugs. Unfortunately there seems to be no channel to reach out to him.

The RN8 community actually took a poll in the telegram groups to confirm members voluntary intentions to crowdfund the device to the Dev, and feedback was overwhelming. As we all agree and accept this voluntary step is crucial to rapidly and effectively grow development for RN8 device, we the community don't just want ROM, or Kernels but Bugless as possible through a real recognized Dev who knows his code, to be safe, secured with open source ethics at heart. I will strongly recommend and advice others members to actively join this cause and make it a success

I'm not on the Telegram groups, so what I say might be irrelevant/obsolete, but woud you guys consider doing the same thing with developer @Dyneteve, if they do not yet have a willow or ginkgo device? I for one would be happy to contribute, as many kernel/device trees I've been looking at seem to come (more or less directly) from some of their work, and they're anyhow thanked in many ROMs I've been using.
What a successful fundraising it was ^^. I wanted to ask though are there now more chances for cameras to be fixed in android 10?

Haha. I think I'd be sceptical or pessimistic if I didn't already have the device..
I'm just thinking about the plethora of people who are about to sail through a quiet ROM scene, I've been here before and although it's a vital learning curve it's definitely a harsh lesson when you've expected and paid for more.
But I get you man, it would be lonely, although getting you on board would be a plus for any Devs on the fence (hence why I reached out)
It's your call man. I can kick off a crowd fund for a device if you fancy it.
All up to you mate.. I'll leave you with this sad eyed image of every 10 pro owner.
If we could raise the price of device then its a start, I can't think of a better Dev I'd want on board with this than you, an that's not me kissing bumcheek, I've seen your work.

If maintaining means sync up with lineage sources and build, I could do it but I don't have the habilities to build a device tree

me personally not willing to pay to edl bricks. OnePlus should at least give us the option to recover Edl bricks by ourselves for free like they used to do till 9 series.
