Does anyone recognize this fu***** sound?! Desperate. - Samsung Galaxy S10 Questions & Answers

A few months ago I started getting a random alarm/notification sound (like 2 seconds long, really loud) with no notification shown at all (screen off). Everyday at the same time. Exactly 10:02 in the morning. It's specially annoying since the phone makes the sound even with Not Disturb on.
I thought maybe the Android 10 update would solve this issue. Nope.
Here's the sound: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=00yuQe9S1zQ
And no, it is not Instagram.
Things I've noticed/tried:
1) The sound isn't part of the clock alarm list of alarm tones.
2) I've already done a full factory reset, manually re-installed all my apps. Still there.
3) If my device is in Airplane Mode, the sound isn't there: as soon as I turn off airplane mode and I get internet connection again, the device makes the sound. (That's what's happening in the video)
4) I've tried looking at recent notifications (system notifications included) through settings. Nothing.
5) Tried Nice Catch. Nothing
I attach screenshots of all my downloaded apps:

Hi dude,
Try to reboot into safe mode (it disables all user apps on boot) at 10:00 and wait until 10:02 to see if the sound still play anyway. If it does, then it system related, and none of your apps is responsible of this annoying sound. But if it doesn't play, that mean thé soins is due to one of your downloaded apps (user apps) from play store or galaxy store.
I hope this trick will help you to solve this issue.
Greetings

Yesterday I disabled quite a few of Samsung push services in settings and plus I uninstalled Autonotification (which was disabled anyway). Guess what. I didn't get the sound today! I don't want to claim victory just yet though... Will report tomorrow if it comes back.
Thanks a lot!

OnePlus 3 automatically going to silent mode [Temporary Fix]

Hi, I had this issue where onplus 3 was automatically going to silent mode, to get it back to normal i had to slide the alert slide all the way up and then down.
I found that this was happening because of true caller. I had enabled "Block spammer" where all the spam calls automatically gets rejected.
I observed that when ever a call is rejected the phone goes into silent, This is the only reason why phone goes into silent mode automatically.
Temporary fix: disable the Block spammer option
And you know what..... I have truecaller installed on my phone
Sent from my ONEPLUS A3000 using XDA-Developers mobile app
Doesn't resolve it
I have the same problem, but no truecaller or anything installed. So this doesn't resolve my problem.
I don't think truecaller is the problem. I have experienced it and true caller was not installed.
It hasn't happened for a week now.
It happens to me everyday, no trucaller installed.

Hello.
I also have this problem and I don't have TrueCaller installed.
Anyway, thanks for trying to help and sharing your experience.
This started to happen to me after I updated to Oxygen 3.2.1.
Dont know if the update introduced this, but that is when I first noticed it. I had about 6-7 occasions in last few days where I noticed that the phone is in silent mode although slider was set to full notifications. I then had to move the slider to silent and back to normal to fix it.
I dont use or have true caller installed here.
Same issue here
Same here, no true caller installed but phone went into silent mode at least 3 times within the last 2 days.
OxygenOS-Version 3.2.1
Not sure if anyone has figured out the solution yet, but I think I've narrowed down the problem a bit more: my phone goes to silent mode the same time each day, and I've noticed it's the same time that my previous phone would automatically go into silent mode (since it was set up to do that). It seems like since I've gotten my OP3, google or some kind of account backup must have remembered by previous auto silent setting and applied it here.

I don't know if that is true, because I have the same problem but I never had any of my previous phones set up to go into silent mode at any time.

I just had another goint into silent bug. First one today.
I read somewhere that a possible solution is to factory reset the device and choose not to restore any setting from previous device when configuring Google account.

I have the same problem (22.00 every night my phone goes into Silent mode) and my thoughts were also going along the lines of some Google profile setting from previous (Moto X) Android transferring across somehow. I did/do like it when I set a Silent time window during the night, however the OP3 does not come out of Silent in the morning (I then slide Alert up and down).
Seems a SW bug. And Hard Reset without transferring Google settings seems like I'd lose out on other things/settings that I've put in place over the years....
Same happened to me, had a priority schedule on previous phone at 22:00 and it got transferred over when I did the Google transfer thing. No idea how to change it, and I'm too lazy to do a factory reset since it means going to the bank to get my banking app activated
The most annoying to thing is that I lose keyboard sounds on SwiftKey even when I go back to normal mode from the scheduled Priority mode...
It has happened to me many times. I thought it was my old Do Not Disturb setting but today it happened around lunchtime.

Phone says a random number every 10 minutes - never seen before :/

Hey everyone!
My girlfriend has a Galaxy Note 5 (I have the OnePlus 3), recently updated to Android Nougat (recently = 2 weeks ago or so).
Today, all the sudden, her phone has started to say random numbers. I know, sounds weird. It says random numbers every 10 minutes - numbers like 72, 98, 107, 50 (but not in order - it doesn't appear to be a countdown, unless you morph the definition of the word) regardless of internet connection (she tried to keep Wi-Fi and Mobile Data off, it still said a number...).
She did try the obvious basic stuff - clear all recent apps, reboot the phone... No dice! I'm saying she tried, not me, because I'm at work, so...
I asked her to go to the Developer options and show me what apps are running. I'll attach below screenshots of the running services she has on her phone. To me, everything appears to be fine.
Do you have any idea what might cause this? We initially thought it could be Google TTS - since it does sound like it. But there is nothing enabled under Accessibility (as it should be, unless some ghost had turned something on... but no, there is nothing). She even tried to change Google TTS language to French - nope, whatever does this still says random numbers every 10 minutes IN ENGLISH.
I've looked it up on Google... tried various search terms... found nothing relevant. It's as if this is the first time something like this has ever happened.
I'm baffled. And helpless.
Any ideas, please? Thanks in advance!
Nevermind. Turned out it was Samsung Pay.
A Samsung Pay pop-up appeared right as the voice was heard for the 1000th time, and I figured hey... let's look at the permissions for that app (since we can't disable it). Revoked all permissions and... NO MORE VOICE ! YAY !
A factory reset still should be made, I think. Perhaps the upgrade from Marshmallow to Nougat wasn't as smooth as I had thought...
Whoops! The voice still happens. It just didn't happen that one time (after the 10 minutes mark), so we thought it's all good. Now, it's happening at 9 minutes !
She did something a few hours ago. She changed the language of Google TTS to French. But nothing changed. The voice was still saying numbers in English.
Now, after revoking permissions of Samsung Pay, she rebooted the phone & the voice started saying numbers... IN FRENCH.
The best thing about it is that it says that... REGARDLESS OF SOUND MODE ! Priority, silent... It still says them numbers! So, we're gonna have to turn the phone off for the night and perform a reset in the morning, since we'll have to go to bed early.
F*** this s***. Samsung, what the flying f***?!?!?!?!
Yeah... It's still happening...
Did a factory reset... did a settings reset...
Disabled Google TTS, disabled as much as I could of Samsung Pay (blocked notifications & such)... It was okay for a while (a day). Now, it's back!
This is... driving me (/us) nuts! Does anyone know... something... a witch that could help, perhaps...

I'd do that... Actually, I would have slapped a custom ROM on her phone from day 1, but that would have voided the warranty (since, you know, KNOX is such a great & useful thing).
Speaking of KNOX... It trips & dies if you root the device or whatever, but when something as sketchy as this happens (app decides its time has come & starts doing random shenanigans), KNOX is like wha, where? Ugh
For the meantime, my girlfriend has her phone's media volume set to 0 for the most part. I'll take a closer look at her phone tomorrow & see if it happens again (unless it suddenly ran out of numbers to say, it should still be there). If it does, I'll take a "short" video with my phone. From there, this is the plan I was thinking of : another full reset, but this time set everything back from scratch (no automatic restoration of settings / apps / whatever). Just sync contacts & such after setup, then gradually install apps (allowing 1~2 days in between app installs).
Unless... the security update that just arrived today (weighing in at about 70 MB - whereas previous security patches were only 30 MB, wow, this must be something, lol ) changed something...

Phone saying random numbers
Hi did you manage to find out what was causing this as my phone started doing this a week or so before your post,I couldn't find anything from anyone else either.I have the OnePlus 5t.....and it still does it.Not every ten minutes though just random numbers from 62-107.Any ideas
AI getting smarter, y'all.. 1984
Formhault, did you ever manage to fix this issue? My mom's phone is doing the same thing and I'm almost desperate enough to buy her a new one
It's TTS!
If anyone is still having this issue, kill Google Text-to-Speech Engine.
When I was having this issue, I narrowed it down to TTS, so I went and force-stopped and then disabled it. The voice immediately stopped. It got re-enabled after some updates, so I killed it again. Now it appears enabled but doesn't dare to speak :victory:

P20 Pro Vibrates Randomly

So, over the last few weeks I've found that my P20 Pro vibrates for no (known reason), every now and again. Usually multiple times per day.
I've tried turning it off and back on, killing the apps, checking for updates, turning notifications off on most apps.
Has anyone had a similar problem and /or has any way of diagnosing or fixing it?
I have experienced the same thing, so you're not totally alone if that helps. I haven't found the cause yet either. I suspect it might be WiFi+ vibrating when the source switches back and forth so it'll happen in stints for me.
i have the same thing and i think i might found the reason, i have some muted WhatsApp chat groups and it seems like that every now and then when i get messages in these groups my phone vibrates although i muted them . There is no notification but a short vibration.
Another thing that bothers me more is when receiving an whats app message my phone vibrates once short and after that the way i set it up in the settings...
I begin to get it after an update. hope to see a solution soon.
No
I believe I've found the cause and solution to the Huawei mate 20 pro random vibrations.
I installed a notification logger from the play store and found that it was logging notifications of repetitive image downloads completing that lined up with every buzz.
If you go into settings, apps and choose to see system apps in the menu, you can force close the download and download manager apps. If you then clear the data and cache from each, you should find the phantom notifications stop.
I haven't had one in days now, and it was all the time.
I hope this is of help.
This happens to me a lot. Its mainly due to voice recognition thinking I'm am speaking to the phone. It happens randomly when watching TV, at work on even in the train. There's no specific key work that triggers it,. It happens at random. This is my issue with the random vibration but your could be a different reason although

Mine was definitely the download manager continuously redownloading Google photos images. Force stop, clear data, clear cache of the download and download manager system apps and mine has been fine now for a week. Try it!
Had the same issue months ago. Cleaning cache and data of stock download manager app solved it for me.
Mine started doing same yesterday ?
I have the mate 20 pro, and it's just started randomly vibrating with no notification
So my phone is now starting to randomly vibrate like bursts of short vibrations that last a while, but there's no notifications or anything? I don't know how to find the "download manager" to check if it's that. I'm not sure which apps to force stop. It's really annoying though.
Do you use Textra? Happened to my wife's s8 and she just uninstalled then reinstalled Textra to make the problem go away.
I have cleared the download manager and everything else several times, but it only works for few days even hours and starts again. I'm not sure if it activities itself again after I download something, but nevertheless, this just shouldn't happen. How can I disable download manager permanently (or preferably just the vibrations, as I assume DM is there for a reason)
Had the same issue. No problem from textra, for me it was google drive. I uninstalled it, cleared cahe and data and I am now using OneDrive. I haven't experienced any random vibrations since then.
Mate 20 X had similar issue after EMUI 9.1 upgrade and turned out to be contacts sync system app constantly trying to sync contacts. Force stop and cleared data and all good now.
I have the same issue on regular mate 20 since the last software update to EMUI 9.1.0. All the suggested solutions here did not resolve the issue. If someone has more suggestions please share
I fixed it. It's a system application called "Contacts Sync" disabling it solved the issue for me.
Settings > apps > show system processes > search for Contacts Sync > disable and force close it

This didnt work for me, but i found another solution. I stopped almost all apps from autostart. except email and messangers. that immediately solved the issue and the phone boots much faster as well, nice sideeffect
You need to go into battery usage and then click on the individual app, then app launch.
I hope that helps

Maybe a ****y Tasker or AutoNotification setting/profile ? Look at those two apps,, it can be a bad in-app setting or an error in a Tasker profile/task. If you don't find anything suspicious over there, I would suggest you to uninstall Tasker and its related plugins like AutoNotification and see if the sound still play at 10:02...
But this airplane mode condition to let the sound play is strange coz it mean it's internet/cellular connection related ?

Nothing strange in both of those apps. Autonotification is actually disabled and I just use Tasker for some Bluetooth/Wi-Fi near interactions.

Question Spotify is acting odd

This might be the app itself but I didn't have any issue on my S20. Since I updated the phone it randomly cuts out. Any ideas? Never on WiFi though...

Is it when the screen is off? Check it's not been put to sleep in battery settings
it seems that latest ROM updates (I think I have this on all AUB* ones) is weirdly strict on background activities and cuts every one of them. my whole device acts strangely - apps not showing notification or showing them late (hours later than they were supposed to show), my apps are not updating: I have to repeatedly FC play store, then clear its cache so that currently installing app changes state from downloading to installing, than do it again to change state fomr installing to installed etc. worked fine on AUA* ones. it is really annoying. btw I tried to clear cache and dalvik/art cache from recovery, but that did not help. I have not tried factory seset yet...
It seems that it was data corruption during regular OTA. Factory reset seems to fix problems for me.
I'll try a reset.. thankyou
Let's be honest, the Spotify app has issues too begin with. On my S21 and Pixel 4 it can be playing songs to my earbuds then suddenly stop running in the background on its own! Unlock the phone and itis still open in the foreground.
Perhaps it's time for a new music app if this is a known Spotify issue... But if it's not a Spotify issue, then check in your battery settings (as others have mentioned) to see if your phone automatically started putting it into "Sleep Mode".
