Mi 9 Lite dark areas too dark - Xiaomi Mi CC9 / Mi 9 Lite Questions & Answers

Edit: Is anyone else having the problem described below with images and videos being too dark? If you have a Mi 9 Lite and are NOT having this problem please let me know. Maybe it's just my phone.
I recently got an MI 9 Lite with MIUI Global 11.3.3. Overall the phone is very nice but the dark areas are so dark that there is basically no detail shown. Comparing this with my old phone (LG G4) while watching a Netflix video for example, the old phone shows much more detail in dark areas. Putting the brightness up to the highest level doesn't help--that makes bright areas much brighter but dark areas are still too dark. I've fiddled with the different color settings to no avail so far. Any advice is appreciated.

Intensity of screen colors in Android 9 Pie ???

Hello,
Perhaps it is only my perception, but after updating to the final version of Android 9 Pie, I notice how more "washed" the colors on the screen, it seems to me that in Oreo 8.1 the colors were more saturated, more vivid.
Where I first noticed, it was in the green of the WhatsApp icon, now I see it fainter.
Has anyone noticed this?
Regards!
PS: Sorry for my English!
Yes the colours aren't the brightest on Android Pie, also i noticed something wrong with the brightness, earlier the screen used to be bright enough even on 30% brightness now i always have to keep it above 40% during day time.
maybe this is due to the new battery technology IA
I don't see a difference except I feel like the intensity of the screen is a bit smoother. Yes it's not as bright but before the update when I put it from 10 to 30 there was a higher bump in brightness now its more regular. I don't use adaptive brightness because I like it to be fixed
Seems like a fix to me.
Didn't notice problem with color though
MIA2 updated to Pie and all colors have been dull and boring
After updating from Oreo to Pie my MIA2 phone has become dull and boring. The vivid colors have become silly and even the photos also got affected. The phone has lost it's brightness too. Even the red color of Quora has become dark brown. Can't understand whether this is the new phone on which I am working or it's like some old septia color version phone. It's really disgusting.

I hope they correct it soon, it was one of the characteristics that I liked most about A2, the most vivid colors. The A1 had weaker colors.
In 9.0 (10.0.1.0 and 10.0.2.0), the A2 is seen as the A1.

I recently bought an A2 and noticed the screen saturation on Android 8 to be unnaturally high, especially skin and lip tones. If I look at a regular photo on my PC, iPad or Huawei P9, colors seem OK, but on the A2, it seems as if the person is wearing lipstick for example. I haven't received the update yet, but if it reduces the saturation slightly, I will be more than happy.

K20 Pro Display Issues

Recieved my K20 Pro yesterday and I've noticed that there's a slight green tint on the upper left corner.
Here's an example.
imgur .com/a/Tr9b61H
It kinda goes away on 80%+ brightness and also appears on white and that gradient, sadly I can't take a photo on a white setting because it doesn't appear on the photo.
Any people out there that has a Mi 9T, K20, K20 Pro that is experiencing the same problems?
We can also share problems that we experience here so we could test it on our devices, feel free to share! Thanks!
Additional questions:
1. Also is there any way to know if the device has been used, returned or a refurbished one?
2. Idle temps is 35c, when gaming it reaches out to 50c~55c. Is it normal/okay?
3. The thing is if I refund or return I'll be getting the same device, so do you think it is worth the hassle?
Sorry I'm a new account so I could not post links. Thanks!
I'm on the latest MIUI version, no other changes made.

I bought the Mi 9t pro on the 28th august and it had some issues so i returned it and bought a new one. Arrives today, we will see, i would reply if the problems repeat
the problems were:
1: With the dark mode activated, The contrast with true blacks and gray, while moving the screen, the pixels that had to turn from black to gray had a Blue/purple tint. most noticable with Less than 50% brigthness
2: with, again, gray tones ,the screen had a line in the middle across the display that had a gradient towards white, like in spotify, for example, wasn't a solid color.
3: Some touch issues, most noticable while gaming(Call of duty mobile in my case)
Similiar issue. @oliese have you returned it, or its normal scenario with led panels?

I have kept the second one I bought, this one has a lot less of that problem, mostly unnoticable

GCam photos turn out waaaaaay too bright.

Hey XDA,
I wanted to get GCam on my note 8 since now a ported version of 6.1 with night sight is available.
However, when I take pictures, they look too bright. Almost white.
What can I do?
Bump1
Bump2
My gcam overexposes in bright high contrast situations, faces becomes blown out. What Gcam version is available where you can set it to constant under-exposure from -0.3 too -2compensation? Gcam is incredibly advanced this absolutely crucial setting and its weird if no one has a fix for this... Extremely frustrating! And NO, i do not want to use the HDR++ setting because the photographic moment will be gone after 3 seconds

General Problem with photos - Green in night light streets

Hi! I bought this phone because of his camera. However, in the night, many times the light of the lamps in the street are quite green in the photos. Am I the only one with this problem? I noted that with gcam and some white balance custom settings the quality is better so I assume that pheraps could be a problem with the white balance of stock app. Im on global with 12.5. 10.
Any advice?
Thanks

Question Realme GT 2 problem with AMOLED display and text visualization

Hi, I recently bought a Realme GT 2 8/128GB Global RMX3311_11_A.14 firm and have been using it for past couple of days.
What I have noticed like artifacts around black text on white background, like a bright halo under dark shapes and clear/light background, it's like a 1px brighter-than-the-background, like a broken anti-aliasing/ClearType or maybe is that the sharpness is very high.
I have tried all the configuration options available for the screen but there have been no changes. For example, in the list of Wi-Fi networks, in the password field, if you look at the black line, it is in one of the places where it is most noticeable.
https://imgur.com/t50LOm5
it is very difficult to capture with a camera, this is not my phone but the same thing happens
https://imgur.com/zOkyWWG
I think i have same problem which is reported in this other thread for a Xiaomi phone https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/over-sharpened-mi-11x-amoled-display.4319715/
Is this normal or there's any problem with my display? Is this a Realme UI 3 issue and can be solved in following updates?
I have other three Amoled phones and this DOES NOT happen to any of them! (Realme 8, Oneplus 3T, Xiaomi Mi A3)
thanks!
regards
Do you have DC Dimming enabled ?
I noticed that when it is enabled in low brightness and black background there's some flickering on the page text when scrolling.
But that particular issue I don't have.
Hi apsol, thanks for your answer
No, I did not have DC dimming active, I have tried to activate it but it has no effect on what I comment
with time I'll get used to it, now I know it's there and I see it. What I would like to know is if it is a problem with this AMOLED panel or rom/driver issue which could be adjusted via software
I know how it is, once you see it you can't unseen, it would drive me nuts too. Hehe
Have you tried testing for dead/stuck pixels if it doesn't show there my guess is software.
I'm on RMX3311_11_A.14.
What about you ?
Hi,
Same firmware version here, RMX3311_11_A.14 global
the truth is that I am not sure if it also happened with the A.13 because I almost updated it at the moment, I did not realize this until I was in the A.14 ...
thanks
The same problem on my phone. It is easier to see also on black background with white font.
Unfortunately I think this is a screen issue not soft
Have anyone have similar issue? Is this global problem or only 2 of us struggle with this issue?
Check if you have high contrast text enabled.
I have high contrast disable ( but the same issue is visible when option is on). Do you have this is issue? Or should I send my phone on RMA?
I don't.
If it bothers you that much return it.
Hi again,
After continuing to search for information on this issue, I found following post on reddit that I think has the same problem with an iPhone 13
https://www.reddit.com/r/iphonehelp/comments/tdy5tc
I think it's a common problem with AMOLED screens, but in some it is more noticeable than in others and it also depends on the user
after detecting it on my Realme GT 2, if I make an effort, perhaps I could say that it also happens on my OnePlus 3T, however the difference with my Realme is remarkable, the same with a Realme 8 of a family member
By the way, another thing that I have detected is a color shifting when the viewing angle is varied, much higher than in my other devices with AMOLED, it must be said that the larger the screen, the more noticeable it is
I'm a little disappointed with the screen to be honest
thanks

I came specifically to this forum to check whether its true about the screen's colour shift and font edge issues. Seems its true. Its believed that they have used the same samsung E4 hard screen, that they used in oneplus 9RT. You can check 9RT's display review below:
https://www.gizmochina.com/2021/10/22/oneplus-9rt-review-perfect-balance-camera-price/
There is also a Chinese video on GT2 display. Its a review of k50 and gt neo3, but they have shown display of gt2 also. Watch from 2:30 min.
I don't see that problem on my gt2 in normal use.
I also have the blue shifting even when looking straight. I try to ignore it.
Someone told me it was the screen protector but I never removed it to be sure.
But every review I've seen there is color shifting.
