So on 09.12.2019 we got news that Huawei will release separate EMUI 10 update that will alow users to customise always ond display (mate 30 pro has it).
No word since then.
Any ETA-s, news, anything?
My mate 30 Pro does not have any ability to use custom aod clocks but it does have the ability to download them from selections as well as about 12 built in. There must be a way of making them now though?
They said it will be available at beginning of 2020 i think, but now we nearly have april, so i think this will not happen on our phone in the near future...

I believe only default huawei apps work with always on notifications. Unfortunately there's no other options
Playstore>Glance Plus
Is there any way to run third party support natively?
Actually, I can't even seem to get native email notifications to appear either?
This is really starting to bug me.
Hello,
Same problem for me : I would like to receive notifications from other apps (Whatsapp, Twitter, ...) on the always-on display.
I tried Glance Plus but it's impossible to unlock the phone with the fingerprint scanner using this app.
Someone can help us ?
Thx !
The same question.
Maybe some root mods can help us?
Please realize that , just like Samsung, this is the first implementation of Huawei's Always On Display, it's just to tick a marketing box, and many months, maybe more than a year must pass until you see a really meaningful implementation. Samsung also didn't display 3rd party app notifications at first, just missed calls and SMS messages (not even their own email app was integrated). The only company that had a good Always On Display from the beginning was LG.
It's too bad, because the Mate 10 Pro looks to be a really great phone otherwise.
My only worry is that Huawei seem in no rush to update the Always ON Display like Samsung did after only the S7. Huawei have had this Always On Display with only stock app support on 3 different phones now with the Mate 9 Pro, Mate 10 Pro and now the P20 Pro so that's almost 2 years without any change. Maybe now that more people demand it and they want to get closer to Samsung then they'll maybe speed up that update?
It is disappointing and I too can only see sms on mine (stock email app does not show)
I love an AOD but IMO in it's current form it is just not worth using.
after 2 monthes is possible that this problem isn't solvable? i wrote to huawei assistance but they have no emails or requests.... only me!!!! if nobody ask to implement this funcion, the problem stay for all us... the modder of huawey are locked by emui system and few mod are develops
today i had a notification update the update was 0.95 GB
in the change log it mentioned adding face unlock the new night mode (enhanced than before) plus nay security patches and improvements ....
im still updating so i didnt try them out yet
would keep you posted if you are interested
so? can you give us an update on the update?
Biggest feature is the face unlock
It is super fast and secure too as i tried using a picture of me and stuff which sometimes works on other phones but it didn't unlock also there is no a raise to wake feature kinda like the iphone
Didn't notice yet any performance and battery changes
Just a slight camera optimization
Will keep u updated as i use it more...
Did u get the face unlock?
Also there is a new app called app gallery
Basically another application store but it also updates huawei's own applications and stuff
My mate 10 has face unlock with april update patch.. not may.
I updated mine and its mentioned that theres new night shot mode but nothing new in night shot mode

It is the one from the p20. 4 seconds and stabilized. Old night mode was 8 seconds and shakey by hand for me
I like the update. Face unlock is fast to, has a lift to wake option now
My mate 10 is rooted with magisk and using twrp as recovery. How can i update to latest? Update with OTA will brick my phone??
noticed that the theme app was acting slowly... then while playing around with huawei's appstore, I set the country to china (funny, they removed the united states as an option from the list of countries now). After that, the theme app updated itself, and now we have a lot more options to download. The china one seems to be mostly paid, but change it to any other country and the remaining ones only show the free options. Guess since china doesn't have payment options from those countries, the paid themes/wallpapers/etc don't show up
Hey Guys,

If you are going to flash the new ROM manually, we suggest you take a backup before proceeding. Also, keep your device charged more than 70%. Well, how many of you have already received the Android 9.0 update on your Mate 10 Pro?

Help you with what? ? That's another fake news, there's no official roll-out, just beta versions for those that joined the beta testing project.

..........ok sorry....
Good day,
9.0.0.108 (C432E4R1P8log).
Are we all on this version?
It would be good to share experiences.
First experience:
surfed for almost 1 hour, recorded clips and recordings, played music, started new crazy options, loaded with the site, played mobile on smart TV via the "smart board" option, adjusted the options. spent about 5 hours almost without interruption. The battery ran out from 100% to 78%, while nothing was out of the question.
-the "smart board" option gives you all the content of your mobile on TV and work your fingertips on the screen on TV, from e-mail, viewing clips to playing,
- the option for a "wallet" is relaxed, but in Serbia,
the screen of the mobile station is a smart board,
4K video recording,
in 720 resolution, the video clips can be slowed from 120 fps to 960 fps. Perfect.
Some strange things,
the Wifi signal is continuously plugged in and I can not touch it by touching it,
In the label it says that the battery is 100% and in the settings there is actual consumption, discrepancy or what.
Mobile does not heat up while the camera is working.
They were a bit trickier with notifications when using melody and tuning.
There is no working TWRP for EMUI 9 and it cannot be rooted so far...
From what I am familiar Huawei blocked the option to unlock the bootloader therefore it cant be rooted, correct me if I am wrong?
Does the Always On Display have a functionality to customize it in 9.0 beta?

It's because it uses system-as-root.
Normally this can be "fixed" by removing skipinitramfs in kernel, but Huawei removed it completely.
So we have to wait for TopJohnWu to release some solution OR for kernel sources to see if ramdisk can be enabled again (if only to start magisk)
So this can not be downloaded and flashed??
That is correct.
Soo, i was using a Samsung with Android 7 before i got my new MI8 Lite and since then, i noticed that apps (especially twitter) seem to be having a limit of around 10 notifications truncated together, any new notification after that just removes the oldest one and takes it spot, while in my old Samsung with android 7, it could handle around 50 notifications.
Can i fix it somehow?
(Ps: I know i mispelled the title)
Been doing a bit of reading and it's just not clear if global holders of the Huawei P30 Pro are going to be getting EMUI 12 anytime soon.
I'm personally on 11.0.0.179 with a Security Patch level of the 1st of July 2021 so I just don't know what's happening.
If we do get EMUI 12, I suppose we'll probably get a years worth of security update to go alongside - but I feel like we've just been left in the dark
If anyone can shed some clarity - that would be great.
help me !!! :/I am trying to upload emui 12 to p30pro via hisuite proxy but I do not load this program (video below)
You can manually copy the links onto HiSuite Proxy; it is the same thing as "add ROM". Note that your device should be the same model as the firmware that you are trying to install, or it likely won't work.
