Question about Widevine and root on the latest update. - Realme X2 Pro Questions & Answers

I ordered my X2 Pro off the Realme EU website only yesterday afternoon, I saw some people having issues with the fingerprint scanner not working after unlocking the bootloader which seems to be patched as of A08. My main question now is if Widevine is still L3 after the bootloader unlock or is it L1?

L3. It's not a bug, it's by design.

I’m plenty aware, but from my understanding you can root whilst retaining L1 on some devices. I was wondering if that is the case here.

Mi9 china version to global???

I have ordered the Explorer version, which is not there yet, come the days. Has anyone experienced what it looks like with a global version, so to install it? with locked bootloader? Am now back to miui for years and have lost something the overview. Will of course open the bootloader, but that always takes a bit
Congratulation for your Explorer Edition.
you can switch from china to global with unlocked bootloader (after 300 hours) but you should not lock the bootloader back after flashing, this will brick your device.
2nd disadvantage of these chinese edition is lack of LTE band 20.
If you are a european user this will have negative impact of your mobile coverage because most of our mobile phone providers use this band.
I would also like to have had the explorer edition but lack of Band 20 isn't a compromise for me.
yes thank you for the info, just hope the Xiaomi not sometime the bootloader still locks permanently.
seems like China version can install global rom via unlocked bootloader.
is there any instruction on how to do so?
also what will happen if bootloader is unlocked? thanks in advance!
Is there any way to install global rom on china version with locked Bootloader? Maybe with XiaoMiTool V2 ?

Thanks for answer.

They not talking about the play store but google pay (formally known as Android pay) which doesn't work or typically doesn't work if the bootloader is unlocked, but magisk root I believe has a mod to by pass but don't quote me on that I haven't used a xiaomi device before and haven't rooted my phone since I used my old Nexus 6p (which had bootloader unlocked and root with google pay working)(using Huawei mate 10 pro without root)

1st - Yes, a lot of times with oneplus 6 and 6t - thats how widevine works
2nd - Nope, you cant retain L1 on an unlocked bootloader
There should be a way to retain L1

Question 11 Ultra Chinese version making it "original" EU

Hello,
I've bought my Mi 11 Ultra from China and loving it. I've then rooted it and installed the EU fastboot version.
However, I don't like having to worry about Magisk and all the security issues that this process might entail therefore I'd like to ask a very simple question:
is there a way to turn a Chinese version into an official European version?
So basically I would like to just flash it with a EU official fw and then lock the root again so that there would be no difference between a phone bought here. In my simple mind, the only difference between the China version and the EU version is just the firmware, is that correct?
I've read it's dangerous to flash and lock the root again though? Is that true?
Thanks a lot

Yes. Lock bootloader in the way you thought is dangerous.
Ah right, thanks. May I ask why that's not possible? Just out of curiosity. What's the difference between a phone bought here and a phone bought in China and flashed EU? Is it the kernel?

You can install the official ROM from EEA (Europe) or Global and use your device normally and you will have no problem and everything will work. You just cannot lock the bootloader again on these ROMs.

yes the problem is that you get security issues with most banking apps so you have to play around with Magisk. And I don't really need the bootloader to be unlocked cause i don't want custom ROMs, but apparently there isn't a solution

The EU is approved and based on the Chinese version but has the best of all the variants and works on all approved banking apps. Some people say it doesn't but have never tried.
I use the EU and have done for a few phones. I use Gpay, Lloyds Bank and most secure of all, Sky go. You can't even hide sky go using any Magisk hide app, yet it works fine with the EU. Someone said, BDO bank doesn't work, yes it does, just delete the empty twrp folder.
See screenshots of both security and DRM levels on this EU ROM phone. The boot loader stays visually unlocked but it works as if it is locked.
If you have any questions, please message me, I'll tell you straight if you are still worried.

The unlocked bootloader doesn't give banks problems (at least here I never had), I had a CC9 Pro (CN), I unlocked the bootloader and put the official global ROM and used it normally, I had no problems with the banks. Understand that unlocking the bootloader and root are completely different things.
To my knowledge this is not possible!
While the CN version and the international version share many mobile bands they are not similar and it's not possible to change frequency bands. So the hardware will remain CN whichever ROM you flash....
As mentioned in the posts before you can flash different ROMs but only as long as the Bootloader is unlocked....
All correct, you can only relock the bootloader if you flash the original CN Rom, the one your phone came preinstalled with

Question OnePlus 10 Pro 512gb - Panda White

I have purchased this device from Wonda Mobile.
The customer service person has told me the original phone model is a Chinese NE2210. It will be flashed with NE2213 or NE2215 depending on region (I am from the UK so most likely NE2213?).
I was also told that the bootloader will be locked, payment app will work and the device will continue to receive updates.
My question, are the above true as far as you are aware?
Is it possible to flash a different region and leave the bootloader locked?
If it is possible to have the bootloader locked, I assume payments apps will work then?
Will the device continue to receive OTA updates if changed from NE2210 to NE2213 or NE2215?
Any possible issues I should be aware of?
I purchased the same device, originally NE2210, it was unpacked and flashed to NE2215 by the seller. The bootloader is locked, updates work normally, everything works great...
Thanks dzontra83. I used to be good at these things in the the golden days of modding our OnePlus phones and installing custom ROMS.
I read somewhere that you had to unlock your bootloader to change from NE2210 to NE2213 or NE2215. This is why I was a bit confused as to how the bootloader will come locked.
Feeling a bit more reassured that you have the same device with OxygenOS flashed.
Can I ask what region you are from as you have NE2215. I am led to believe NE2213 is for Europe?

My advice would be to get the NE2213 and avoid the chinese variants.
Sooner or later you'll hit a snag..

I have not and would not buy a device out of region.. Reason being is because there are quite a few things that could go wrong..
Main one is warranty, and for what? So you can save a few pennies, that's a penny wise and pound foolish decision.
What will happen when OnePlus "fix" your device if it goes wrong? You'll end up back on the Chinese firmware.
Are the basebands the same? Will it work when 13 is released? Is preformance the same?
Each to their own, but i just wouldn't risk saving a small amount of money for the potential problems they may arise.
Look at the threads created by poor souls who attempted to save money.

I'm considering doing exactly this. I want a 512GB phone and the only option is the CN white panda. Can't do it otherwise. Was hoping for the 10T to offer 512GB but it ended up not (also is a downgrade in many areas)
