Guys,
I understand that the Pixel 4 XL actually does support the PD 3.0 standard after all.
There is mixed information online including that the PD 3.0 was blocked last minute by Google prior to the release of the phone.
I found this topic that states that the Pixel 4 XL now does support PD 3.0.
Here is the article: https://gtrusted.com/google-pixel-4-xl#
Can anyone comment on this?
Has anyone tested PD 3.0 on the Pixel 4 XL?
If PD 3.0 works on the phone this will significantly improve charging times.
Any input is much appreciated.
Many thanks!
Only charges at 18w.
Used my wife's MacBook Pro 60w charger and my Aukey 60w charger to confirm with a USB-PD passthrough meter.
I charge my Pixel 4 XL with my Pixelbook Go charger (I believe it's 45W) and it's not any faster.

When I use my 27W charger from the essential phone (RIP pour one for the homies) it seems to charge slightly faster than stock charger when charging up from 20% to about 50.

If you have actually numbers and times that would be helpful. I know I consistently go 15-80% in an 60 minutes whether it's the stock charger or Pixelbook Go charger.

Officially tested my Pixelbook Go charger and it went from 3% to 84% in 60 minutes. I am 99% sure that the stock charger gets the same amount in 60 minutes. As you can see on the charger, the volts would be either 5 or 9 at it's lowest. The amount gained seems to be closer to the 5 volts. Only thing I would retest and compare is the 30 minutes because if it did support the 9 volt, it would use that at the lower percentage first and perhaps 30 minute top offs would gain more over the stock.

So my first real day with the phone and I am extremely impressed with the battery life, didn't have any battery saving enabled and I used my phone normally plus I watched 4 episodes of the walking dead on Netflix.

Yeah, it is very good.
HTC EVO 4G - my first real smart phone. Had to hang on a charger if I wanted to use the phone for anything but have it in my pcket and gt forbig 4G kicked in... the phone would lilterally heat up by just sitting in a pocket.
HTC 4G LTE - big improvement over Evo. Battery life much better, super nice screen, fast, etc..
HTC One M8 - wowza. Super smooth and battery life is simply amazing.

After running the ruu for 4.3 sense 5 on the LTE on average I get 16 hours and I'm only down to 20% when I plug in for the night.

I could get much longer battery time if I wasn't streaming Netflix for 4 hours, I'll have to get better battery stats to show the on screen time. My wife is at 64% battery with 18 hours and 5 minutes.

Just finally has the pleasure of being out in the day, reaching 14%, turning on extreme power savings mode, and making 4hrs til I got home. To which I was then at 12%. Haha pretty awesome

Hm... for some reason my battery life hasn't been as great as everyone is reporting. I'm not getting anywhere near 24 hours.
I don't know if it's because of an app I have installed.. or my background data settings.. or what.

This is my review of the Tronsmart USB rapid car charger. This is a Qualcomm 2.0 rapid charge charger with 2 ports. It comes with 2 USB cords as well in the box, which was a nice surprise. The Note 5 does recognize this as a "rapid charger".
I got the rapid charger to try out and compared it to an OEM Samsung USB charger. I found that the Tronsmart rapid charger charges at a rate of about 1% per minute. This is pretty good. If you take a 10 minute car ride, you will gain roughly 10% to 12% charge. This can be very useful to get a quick juice-up when needed. The Samsung charger charges at a slightly lower rate, about 7% charge gained over 10 minutes.
I should clarify that this testing was done with the phone around 70% to 80% charged already. I still plan on testing out the charge rate with a more drained battery (under 50%) and will report back as to how quickly it charges then.
The charger seems well built. It is nice and compact, and gives you not just the one rapid charge port, but 2. I highly recommend it. 10/10 here.

Disclaimer: I was provided this free of charge in exchange for an unbiased and honest review.
UPDATE: Just to let you all know how well the rapid charger works when the battery is low. In 15 minutes, my phone went from 19% to 41%. That is a 22% boost in just 15 minutes, which is about what a short drive around town would take for me. I am more than satisfied with that.

I have the same charger and really like it. As someone who frequently travels with a couple Note 5's in the vehicle, this is a no-brainer. The USB cables are thick, 10/10 from me as well.

I have this charger as well and I confirm that both are rated QC 2.0.
Also, I can definately confirm that both USB cables are big-gauge (20 AWG!), high-quality cables.
I bought two of these off another review and they're great

Hi guys ,
I was trying to find quick charge 2.0 but no luck, however 3.0 is easily available, so basically i wanted to ask that if i connect my nexus 6 on quick charge 3.0 will it act and perform like 2.0 as 3.0 is also backward compatible.
Sorry if this question has already been asked.
Anyone here using 3.0 on Nexus 6 ?

I don't have a QC charger to check but, according to qualcomm, all previous QC 2.0 supported phones, such as the Nexus 6, are backward compatable with QC 3.0. They will just charge at QC 2.0 levels.

Now I understand the op-question.
What happens is that the charger start charging with a higher voltage (9 - 12 volt) when the battery is charged below 70%.

Do you have a source to back this up? Was looking at my amperage on the lockscreen while on the stock charger at 60% and it states 1500mah. Waited a while and checked again and battery is at 80% and it still states 1500mah.

My source is written on the original charger of the N6. The output:
Standard 5v 1,6 A
Turbo1 - 9v 1,6 A
Turbo2 - 12v 1,2A

Question, the qualcomm charger 2.0 has a 30w unit. . But there is 2 USB plugs on the wall charger are each individual port 15w a piece or are they 30w per each USB plug?
V.I.P
You can also use Accubattery to check the amperage used during charging and discharging.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.digibites.accubattery
Thats using an Aukey QC3.0 charger that i have plugged in all day every day, had to drain it a lil to take this screenshot. QC3.0 is fully backwards compatible along with 4.0 and as far as i know 5.0 will be the same way. They dont sell 2.0 really due to all future releases being fully backwards compatible.

When I called T-Mobile yesterday they advised me to turn off fast charging because of the possibility of the battery getting hot and exploding. I have always be cautious since day one and turned off fast charging because my phone would get warm but charges pretty fast without fast charging enabled. Also when I'm at work, I only use wireless charging even if it takes longer. What I noticed is that sometimes when I use wireless charging with the case it gives me issues so I take it off.
3.5 Ah battery capacity, fast charge should be around 2 Amps, take into account slower charge rate towards end, I would say OP is just where he should be, if started charging from empty. I've seen my phone going over 2A, sometimes, but that's like extra bonus. Also we don't know what's running in background, that could be affecting charge rate also.

If it is similar to Note 4 then fast charging kicked in from 0 to 50% with charging current around 1.6A and 9V and from 51 to 100% regular 2A and 5V to let battery recover. There should be specs on sticker on phone charger.

My stock charger is not working anymore. The phone doesn't charge when connected to it. Anybody know any way to get a company original with reasonable price ?
Buy any new 2A charger. It will even charge your phone a little faster than the stock charger. I am using Samsung Galaxy Note 4 charger. It charges my Zenfone 2 Laser a bit faster due to its high power.

But it is not good for the phone right ? The input is designed for only 1.35 A. A higher current could damage the phone. For how long have you been using it and is there any reduction in battery life ?

But when I use a 2 amp charger, after removing it from charger, the charge drops very quickly, even on standby. For me it lost 30 percent after 2 hours on standby. Also the phone gets heated up on charging. Now I use 1 amp samsung charger. It works fine and no problems. Battery backup is greater than ever and the phone does not heat up on charging. Try it.
For anyone in India still facing the problem, now I use a Jio-Fi router charger. 5 V and 1A. High quality product. Phone battery has no problem. Just like old times. Model ZE550KL (Z00L).

In the end of the graph after a blank(Switched off) and little charging time, I removed the charger and tried draining the battery, it went down from around 50% to 15-20% and came back again to 50% without any charging, it kept on happening for 3 to 5 times straight and i got sleepy in the end, then reset dalvik and cache, and it was normal again.
had a pretty fun time considering it's a 2 years old battery.
