Hello everyone, Im new here.
It's been a long time haven't coming back to android.
I want to install recovery and flash 10.0 pixel experience, but it's seem a little hard for me with those tutorial about adb being write briefly.
So Which topic can I start to read?
Im now at stock 9.0. I have not done anything.
Thanks a lot
for now there isn't a recovery for android 10 so you can't install pixel experience for now
First, you'd need to unlock your bootloader, flash lastest stock software, flash newest oem. Then, use payload dumper to extract the files from the Pixel Experience zip, then flash them in fastboot.
However, I do not recommend doing especially if your device isn't unlocked already. If you unlock your bootloader, Sony doesn't allow relocking and there will be no more OTA on stock. Right now, the Pixel Experience rom (and AOSP) for XZ2 doesn't work very well. Too many bugs. You can try if you want to, but I don't recommend it.

Nexus phones are actually very easy compared to Samsung. Rooting has nothing to do with flashing custom ROMs, you just need to unlock the bootloader. If the custom ROM is not pre-rooted you will have to do so after flashing and the instructions will vary based on the custom ROM you flashed.
Why in the newbie guide u need to root first. No, samsung is much easier and very hard to brick ur phone if u did flash it in a wrong way unlike in nexus.

Some custom ROM's come pre-rooted, meaning you don't have to do anything after installing the ROM to root the phone. Other custom ROM's are not pre-rooted so you have to root the ROM after installing it. As an example, the stock ROM is not pre-rooted so you need to follow the instructions in one of the many threads that explain how to root the stock ROM. It is nearly impossible to brick a Nexus phone as long as you have a custom recovery installed and the bootloader is unlocked.

The bootloader is already installed on your phone, it is part of the ROM. As far as unlocking the bootloader, here is one of may results returned when Googling "Unlock Nexus 6 Bootloader" You need to do some research on how to unlock, flash and root the Nexus 6, the information is there if you just search for it.

There's only two ways to brick your Nexus 6.
1. Disconnect cable while flashing bootloader.
2. Close bootloader after flashing all stock without checking if it boots.*
Other than that you can always boot into bootloader and do stuff.
* +1 That's recently happened to people: Everything is off, including Enable OEM Unlocking, and you receive a borked OTA. That happened to some people unfortunately.

you are just telling me right now that flashing nexus phone is very dangerous! i was rooting samsung and my pc turned off accidentally during the process of flashing but nothing bad happened to my phone!

1. Fix your quotes.
2. Don't lie.*
*Not even the Holy Samsung survives flashing the bootloader being interrupted.

Use two empty cans and 30ft of string.
Hi,
No OTA updates for me as my Z2 Pro is running some merchant version as I have multiple languages available.
With that in mind, do I need to update to latest ZUI software, or simply unblock bootloader, root and flash custom rom?
At the moment I am at 2.1.120 ST
Same here. That's international ROM, which does not support OTA. I believe I'm gonna flash latest ZUI using QFIL method (there's a thread "How to flash stock ROM") but there's not much info about this latest ZUI version.
Both of you are best served following any of the guides to flash the stock rom via QFIL. After that you're free to decide how to continue (OTA, Custom ROM, Custom Recovery...)
Thanks, will do.
By the way, I bought the device specifically to go straight to a custom ROM. I had a really easy time flashing the stock rom, updating through OTA (didn't even need VPN for some reason) and then unlocked bootloader, flashed TWRP and AEX. The whole setup works quite nicely.
And according to a number of threads the device should be close to unbrickable. But I haven't verified that myself
I am on 4.1.6 and wanted to un-root my phone so I can get the OTA updates. My recovery is TWRP 3.1.1-x blu_spark v37. Can someone please link me to a thread that can help me out.
There is already a guide to unroot and revert oneplus 3t to stock by the_rooter. Go through.

You could use Osm0sis unSU from here https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2239421&p=40409356

If you like being rooted (and want to stay that way) you don't need to jump through the hoops of returning to stock, or hiding root.
You can simply download the "full" update zip (not the OTA patch, you're looking for the zip that is >1 GB). Then flash in TWRP. Immediately root by your method of choice (SuperSU or Magisk) before rebooting. Which will not only give you root, but doing this before rebooting (after flashing the update) will prevent TWRP from being overwritten with stock recovery.
Super easy. You can do this any time there is an update. And probably get it here on XDA before you would ever get the update notification. The only added hitch is that you will need to update to a Oreo-compatible version TWRP (if the intent is to update to Oreo). Either TWRP 3.1.1-x blu_spark v8.54 (or later) or "official" TWRP 3.2. You are currently on blu_spark, which anyway is more device specific, and recommended.
You can download the full update OOS 5.0, and more details on how to flash, from here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-3t/how-to/rom-oxygenos-3-5-4-mm-ota-update-t3519074
Even if rooted, you should still get the update notifications. It will automatically download the full update (instead of the patch) since you are rooted/TWRP. The only difference, is if you do it that way, it will reboot right after installing the update. You won't have a chance to root, and therefore TWRP will be overwritten with stock recovery. Not a big deal, as you can just fastboot flash TWRP again. But downloading the update and flashing "manually" as posted up above, just saves some steps (in cases other than going to Oreo - since you need to update TWRP in this case).

Only need to return to "full stock" in order to lock the bootloader. And the only reason to lock the bootloader, is if the user is selling the device, or just doesn't want an unlocked bootloader (or TWRP, root, etc.) anymore.
As I outlined above,: root, custom recovery, and unlocked bootloader are all okay (updates will still install) with some minor caveats.

[GUIDE][MODDED FIRMWARE][9.0.6][OP3/T]The least annoying 9.0.x firmware
but i am on 7.1.1, will this work with the above mentioned guide?
or should i unroot my phone again? but what oxygen version do i flash? 4.0 as mentioned above? will my data and apps be gone? i don't want to revert the phone completely to stock a it was new. Just want the lastest official oxygen version because my android auto won't work anymore.
can't find this on the forum
thanks!
So I accidentally messed up my stock rom by dirty flashing, stupid of me I know.. without a backup.
Id like to know.. where can I download a stock firmware, debloated and latest if possible or if not just simply a stock firmware. Ive been trying to figure out for a day how to fix my problem but of no avail.
I use a custom recovery TWRP. Unlocked BL and rooted.
Help please
can u post a screenshot from device info ???
I have uploaded it
I can't find the b390 stock rom, but you could install the rollback package and go back to a previous build that for instance you can find here: https://www.getdroidtips.com/huawei-p9-stock-rom-firmware-collection/
And afterwards you could use the integrated updater.
But if possible oem unlock it first to save you from possible bricking. (oem lock restricts fastboot commands).
Hi everyone
I just got a RN10Pro after years of having a trusty RN5 (whyred).
In my former phone, I recall that the process to flash TWRP (or any other custom recovery) for the first time (with just the bootloader unlocked but other than that as new), involved flashing a dummy anti-ARB image before the actual flashing of the recovery. Otherwise you risked hard-bricking the device.
I'm now waiting for the 7 day period to unlock the bootloader with miflash, and looking for instructions on how to proceed once I get it unlocked. I've read these forums and the installation instructions at the TWRP site and there's no mention of any anti-arb image. They just get on with "fastboot flash recovery <recovery.img>".
I can confirm my phone is ARB locked, "fastboot getvar anti" returns "3" as it's value. I don't have any interest on going back to MIUI after installing a custom ROM (probably AOSPExtended which I got accustomed to), so flashing back MIUI versions is not a risk for me.
As you can assume, I really do not want to brick my brand new phone, ¿Can anyone who has done this before on this device, confirm the process for flashing the recovery and the first custom ROM?
Thanks in advance!
GH
I don't remember doing anything near as complicated. Unlocked bootloader and flashed recovery.img using fastboot.
I installed TWRP with this instruction
I installed TWRP with this instruction
Thank you both for your responses.
I also found this thread:
https://www.reddit.com/r/Xiaomi/comments/dtv6pj
indicating the same (different device but basically the same doubtthat I have).
I'm pretty certain now that I should have no problem just installing TWRP via fastboot the usual way, once I'm able to unlock my device.
Thanks again!
Regards
GH
In all the years on Android, I don't remember ever even using a device where flashing recovery was more involved than doing "fastboot flash recovery.img" (and now had to Google what ARB is - I guess it's some kind of Xiaomi nonsense, from what I read)
It was as simple as that even now with the RN10Pro.

I know, I learnt to deal with that ARB sh** on the Redmi Note 4. As you indicated, flashing bootloader and rom on the RN10Pro was as simple as you said.
Off topic: I tried AEX, crDroid, EvolutionX and ArrowOS, both android 11 and 12 versions, but none of these seem to support the integrated NFC reader/writer on our Note 10 Pro. Do you know of any custom ROM that supports it? I did ask on the ROM threads, but I got no relevant responses.
Cheers, GH
