No audio on navigation - Google Pixel 4 XL Questions & Answers

I cann't hear any voice when using google maps on my phone. I do hear waze but that's a huge data user. Why can't I hear step by step directions.

You sure Google Maps isn't set to mute? There's a speaker icon while navigating. Tap it and see what you're on. There's mute, alerts only, and unmute.

No, its not set to mute. I even went to the verizon store and they couldn't figure it out either.

Do you have Do Not Disturb scheduled to turn on when driving? If yes, uncheck it. If you actually do want Do Not Disturb while driving, make sure "Play Media Sounds" is selected under Exceptions.

Moto X Touchless Control Internet Dependent

I have a Moto X Developer version and I use Att prepaid.I don't have data plan. I bought Motox mainly for Touchless control.I know that if we want to ask any question like height of empire state building it needs to connect to internet and get the answers or to get directions u need to connect to internet but just for setting up reminders and making a quick note using a touchless feature it cant be done since by default it looks for internet connection
Any suggestion to accomplish this i.e say "Ok Google Now" and say "set up a reminder at 6pm to call brother" and it should setup a reminder with no data plan and no wifi turned on.
If it works like siri then it connects to the internet and uses the servers to recognize what you said.
Nope, sorry.

Did you use Greenify on a non-rooted phone?
Or... use another calculator. Calc+ works better for me anyway as it supports editing calculations after the fact which i find usefull. To enable it for multiwindow I used pen window enabler, processed the installed apk, uninstalled and then reinstalled.
I greenify only downloaded apps, no system and all my accessibilitys are turned off.. But i noticed text to speech option doesn't have a off button, only to switch between Samsung and Googles tts

Titanium backup > freeze text to speech Samsung. Bingo
download google text to speach go to your settings and set google as default text to speach and the talking calculator will be gone, your welcome!
Lol I had this same problem. I ended up reseting phone to fix. I believe it's because you downloaded the high quality voice from galaxy apps.
The cause many discover is turning on Greenify in Settings/Accessibility. It turns on TalkBack for some reason. Turn off Greenify in the Accessibility settings.

Repeat Notification

I recently upgraded to a Note 5 from the Galaxy S5 active. It was very easy to set on the S5 but I cannot get my unread text message notification repeat setting to work on the Note 5. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Good luck
I've set it there and it still doesn't work. Oddly enough I downloaded Textra and used it for about 2 weeks and it worked fine with that app, just not the messages app.

There isn't an option there to set repeat notifications.

I don't have that option on that screen. I have everything except repeat message alert.
I've had Note 5 for 6 months and repeat notifications has been driving me CRAZY! I looked everywhere (I thought) for a setting to disable it. Thank you for pointing me to this setting!
No more turning my phone OFF at night to stop it making noises every minute! (Even with Do Not Disturb enabled!)

Silent notification per contact?

Short of blocking contact, I've gone thru contact edit option. I can change default ringtone, and I can change notification tone. But I can't set notification to silent from just that contact. I'm caught up in a group chat with others from work and don't need to block contact. Just don't need to listen to my phone going off 50 times when they start up, especially at night. I'll read the text when I feel like it.
Record a silence mp3 and point contact to it.
don't update this app!!
Yeah, that will drive me nuts. When I'm listening to Pandora and suddenly it stops, is it buffing? I used the Samsung plus app to ask community and they told me I can open the message, hit the 3 bars in top right, and hit the notification bar at the bottom to silence it. And it works, but then I have to keep unwanted and sometimes some serious NSFW text on my phone. If I delete the text, it turns the notification back on. Seems keeping the text will be my only option.
Zedge, Silent....I used this one for telemarketer or spam calls. Have to change it when you want to get calls or texts but I don't ever want to.

Question Shortcut to prevent ringing

Am i remembering wrong or there was this option on pixel 6/pro? I cannot find it in my pixel 7 and here is what i found on google support:
Change volume, sound & vibrate settings on your Pixel phone - Pixel Phone Help
You can make your phone's volume louder or quieter. You can also change your ringtone, sound, and vibration. Important: Some of these steps work only on Android 10 and up.

That part, no,
That's the part I'm looking for, pretty sure OP is as well. Prevent ring shortcut appears to be gone.
Gone on the 6a too.
