Hi, i'm not sure if this is possible on phones, but thought I would ask.
Is it possible to manually select the LTE band you want to use on my P30pro. The reason I ask, is that I've been having problems with intermittent signal in certain areas and wanted to test if changing the LTE band would fix this. Its something I found to have benefit recently when i purchased a Huawei B535 and was only getting between 1-4Mb, used huaCtrl to change the banding and suddenly i'm now getting between 7-12Mb, but this app only works over Wi-Fi when connected to a Huawei router
I want know too if its possible change LTE Band because i have very bad speed on LTE

I just bought a UK version xperia z model: C6603
A lot of people proved that Xperia Z DOES work on ATT's 3G network
It is so weird that my xperia z only has edge
I‘m currently using Straight Talk in USA ( I don't think it's a problem of Straight Talk, because its network is also powered by AT&T, my lumia 920 has LTE using exactly the same sim card)
I tried factory reset, LTE/WCDMA preferred/WCDMA only, flash another ROM - not work
Is there anyone having the same issue? The speed of edge really freaks me out
Anyone can help me? THANKS!!

im on h20 with the xperia z c6603 in the states. currently get an abysmal 0.15mbps d/l, & 1.12u/l.
if any one is using one of the other mvnos and receiving better numbers, please share your experience.
If you wanted full HSPA+ support you want the C6602. The C6603 will only get HSPA in areas that are running the right frequency which is spotty.

Depends on the frequencies used by your carrier for which modes. The 6603 does not cover the 1700 & 1900MHz bands for 3G used by quite a few carriers in the US
Hello,
I live in the USA and I bought the Xperia Z from T-Mobile a while ago. I do know that I have the C6606 variant, and it is only set to support LTE Band !V (1700 MHz). I was just wondering if all the variants of the Z have the same baseband chips because if so, I was thinking of flashing a firmware baseband from the C6603 so I can get more LTE bands for when I go to the Philippines in a couple of months. The carriers over there supports Band I (Smart Comm.) and Band III (Globe Telecom).. I will be staying there for a while so I would like to get the most out of my phone, so help please?
Thanks.
All Z may have the same baseband chip, but flashing other basebands won't work for you. It might be locked by either software or hardware.
dear Experts,
Just bought a Xperia Z. Unfortunately, in my country, the telcos use LTE on band 3 at 1800MHz. However, there aren't any good options available in the market. I had a nexus on which i hacked the QCN through a procedure which enabled band 3. Is there any possibility or workaround through which band 3/1800MHz can be enabled on my Xperia Z C6606 (T-mobile variant).
Thanks

I purchased D5833 unknowingly that it doesn't support LTE Band 4, the phone company use that band for LTE and now im stuck in 3G.
is there any way to add it to the D5833?? can I just flash the D5803 modem into the D5833??
thank you!
I just read in this thread that even if we enable that band it wont work due to hardware limitations. I have no option but to sell it and get the D5803:

thanks anyway.
Whilst I'm being in area which is 100% covered by lte-a, using the same sim in other lte-a capable handsets (which get a 4g+ lock right away), only the p20 seems to stay only with regular 4g. Is my p20 defective? I already made sure that the high-speed lte is enabled in the menu, and I'm running the latest firmware.

Z0mg, not even one?!?!
Hey, i am on p20 pro and lte_a btw. 4G+ is still available on my Handset.
Greetz
I've seen 4G+ on mine, but only when roaming. I don't think it supports all the necessary LTE bands.
