Just picked up one of these beauties (truely samsung paid attention to the iPad), aside from the annoying lack of a micosd slot (and touchwiz, really has no dev wanted to make a touchwizless rom? haha)
Can one remove the screen shot button from the launcher? frequently when I type or go to used the "recent list" I accidentally hit it, I must have 20 screen shots in less than 24hrs!
thanks!
Bump. I wish they could have given you the option to disable it.
Still waiting for a dolution to this myself. Tried launcher replacements like adw ex or launcher pro but nothing
Ok if you freeze com.sec.android.screencapture (search for screen in case i spelled it wrong) in TitaniumBackup it disables it, however the icon will remain.
Not perfect but a workable solution until cm9 arrives for us!

Thanks Ill try this. I don't mind the button but a screen shot out of context can make for an embarrassing moment. Especially when your girlfriend picks up the tablet.

That is true because I turned it off on my 8.9 LTE but damn if I can remember how I did it.
Currently Skyrocketing into Android Space!
none that I've seen under "screen", I am on a custom rom, Overcome
You can freeze it with Titanium Backup. The button remains but is inert, so you're not taking random screen shots willy nilly.
I think the Tab Plus has the functionality to disable/remap that button, it's not on my 8.9 LTE or 10.1 WiFi.
Yes I mentioned that fix earlier, strange they have it in the tab +. maybe we can port it over.
There is a setting in the display area. I changed mine to an apps key. So it now does the same as the apps icon in the top right corner.
Took me a while to figure it out but under settings go to screen and configure the Quick Launch settings.

This setting may be unique to the 8.9 LTE version that I am using.

It was...when I flashed the AT&T firmware, I got the setting option. Win.
Downside, I also got all the AT&T bloatware, and an older version of Market.

For Android 4,go to settings, select display, then select quick launch and then select the desired option. You can replace the screen capture button with something else or just remove it.
I recently installed ADWLauncher EX 1.3.3.56 and it was working fine and then suddenly a duplicate menu button is showing in the buttom bar. I tried reinstalling and chaning the General Behaviour > System Preferences > Customize menu but the freaking thing just wont go away!
I tried searching everywhere for a solution but it seems I am the only one facing it.
Screenshot attached
Mine has always had this button. But I find ADW is not quite compatible with the 7.7, especially in landscape mode.
Same here but it was always there. It doesn't really matter to me. Works much smoother than TW. Although it is correct that it's a bit off when it comes to landscape mode.
Sorry about that, i guess i did not notice it before
We will just need to wait for an update then...
Yeah I just noticed this too. Didn't used to be there. Not sure what happened!
Guys, just remove top bar, give more space for homescreens http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=21833740&postcount=22

I think you misunderstand the issue here. Have a look at the picture in the OP.

I understood everything very clear. There's no way to remove bottom menu button since ADW designed to work on 2.x androids, but you can remove TOP bar with "duplicate" menu button so you'll have only one then and also additional screen space which will be freed by topbar.

Ahh I see what you mean now. My bad!
I actually like blinkfeed, but the share button at the bottom of every story that has it's own fat black bar dedicated to it is annoying me
Any way I can remove this?
bump! Phone is rooted, so I'm hoping there is a way...
I swear, people today can't take a breath of air without sharing it to the public.
We Must Get Rid Of That Waste Of Space...PLEASE (because blinkfeed is nice, otherwise)

BOING!!
Thanks
File is gone? Not sure, but this sharebar remover may be the reason no articles load in Blinkfeed on 4.2.*
Hi,
I updated my HTC One today with Sense 6. Only two things are bothering me so far. First the far too big space between the homescreenicons and the dock, but this is a known bug and not really a big deal for me. But the second one is kinda strange and it seems that it didn't happen to anybody else than me. The problem is with the new lockscreen feature. You can swipe up to unlock normal, swipe right for blinkfeed and swipe left for the selected homescreen. But now something strange happens, when I swipe left. I expect to see the homescreen but it goes always to the most left page beside blinkfeed. I tried everything, rearranging, set other pages as homescreen, removing and adding blinkfeed, but neither of them worked. Strangely the homescreenbutton works as usual and jumps to the right page.
I would really appreciate some help or maybe even a reproduction of this bug.
Thanks for any help provided,
SkryptX
PS: Sorry for any grammatical flaws or mistakes
Does nobody have any idea for this problem?
I updated to Sense 6 today and am having the same two issues.
Seems like there is a huge a waste of space on the home screen where they now have a few dots just to show which page you are on and then disappear to leave an empty void. Kinda ruins the whole aesthetic for me. Also I have my screens set up so the middle page is my home screen with an extra one either side of it. Swiping left on the lock screen always takes me to the left hand page, not my default one.
Both not huge things, just annoyances really, but would still like a fix.

you can use the Xposed framework + Sense 6 toolbox to reduce the gap between icons and the launcher bar or even add another row of icon (5x4 instead of (4x4). The Xposed framework require root access.
http://repo.xposed.info/module/de.robv.android.xposed.installer
And for the unlock issue, I can confirm its the same for me, doesn't bother me as my home screen is the one beside Blinkfeed. Maybe there is also a xposed module to correct that bug.
Sadly I don't want to root my phone already... So there is most likely no way to solve this problem?
But I'll write HTC and ask them if they will release a fix. This is a damn basic function and this can't be so hard to fix this. I don't even know how they managed to overlook such an obvious bug...

just wait for an update, or use the screen next to blinkfeed as your homescreen.

well there are thousand of things to check when releasing an update, its quite easy to miss such a minor bug. And this is not so obvious, I did not realized it myself before trying it after I saw this thread.
I can't seem to properly apply a wallpaper with Google Now Launcher. Every time I do, it basically shifts the whole thing to the right, almost as if it's centering it on the right border. I only use 1 home screen (plus the Google now cards screen to the left) so it just doesn't look right like that. Using something like ES file Explorer kind of helps because you can manipulate a bit how to line it up, but it seems imperfect and time consuming. I'd love to just be able to apply them from something like ZEDGE. Anyone have any suggestions?

The solution I came up with was to go into the app drawer and drag an icon to a separate home screen and then drag another icon to another screen (making 3 screens plus Google now). Apply the wallpaper and then remove the extra two shortcuts to go back to one screen.

This seems to work better than any other solution I've tried. Thanks for the heads up. Not quite perfect but easily better than doing the "guess and check" method of manually lining things up. What an annoyance though, right? It's a wallpaper, it shouldn't be this complicated.

I know... I just started using Google Now Launcher again after using Nova forever, because I like having Google Now to the left of the home screen and I've really started using a more minimal desktop with just one screen. It seems to me that Google of all development crews out there would know about this and fix it. It's a minor annoyance. But an annoyance nonetheless. If anyone else has any other possible solutions, I would love to hear them as well.

I've very strongly considered going over to Nova, except like you, I really like having the Now cards to the left and I'm just not willing to give them up. The only other method I found that semi works, I found an app on the playstore called Image 2 Wallpaper
Does what it sounds like, but there's a little bit of "playing around" you can do with lining things up. The way I've found it to at least sort of do what I want is to tap pick image from gallery, pick the image, down in the bottom half where there are options swipe over to the "Align" section, and hit "Move Left". Then hit the little green icon to the right of the preview to "set" it. Again it's not perfect but it's another option to add to the toolbox of methods I guess. I think yours seems to be a little more accurate, and much quicker though.
This is probably not the best solution for you, but thought I would mention that Action Launcher 3 also has the "swipe left for Google Now" functionality and it handles wallpaper much better. It has a lot of other neat features too, although it's not free. There is a free trial version though that might work for your purposes.

That's interesting... I've used Action Launcher 2 a long time ago but never got into it a whole lot. Does it have Google Now to the left in the exact same way that Google Now Launcher does, or is it more like "a swipe right gesture opens Google Now"?

It's pretty close. The only thing that's missing is the animation when you swipe back to the home screen, IIRC. The developer said that's because of a limitation in the API. It does animate when swiping into Google Now though.

I'm definitely intrigued. I just downloaded it, but swiping to the side just brings up what kind of appears to be a sort of quick app drawer thing. How do you enable the google now cards screen?
It's been awhile since I've used it, but there should be a way to turn it on in the settings. That other thing is called the QuickDrawer which you might need to move to the other side.
[edit]
Found it -- go to Shortcuts under Settings, then Swipe Horizontal, and change Leftmost Home Screen to Search (Google Now).
One thing I don't like is how it automatically opens the keyboard for the search bar. The Google Now Launcher's implementation is much better. If only someone could combine that with Nova Prime's features, I could die happy.

Thanks for the update/edit. I was actually in there earlier but was specifically looking for Google Now instead of Search. I definitely see what you mean regarding the keyboard. It's soooo close. If they could just kill the automatic kb popup it'd be pretty perfect. I'm going to play with it a bit. It definitely feels fluid. And I like the idea of being able to properly theme and whatnot (one of the things I missed from homescreen replacements like Nova). If I like it enough I have enough in my play account from surveys to buy the full version. So far I'm digging it though, thanks again for the recommendation.
