[Q] T-Mobile Questions on Root?

hey guys,
Just got myself a T-mobile Moto x, had a few questions about getting root on the phone. Been trying to go over some of the other posts but things are a little confusing right now. I'm no stranger to rooting and playing around with ADB on my previous phones so a little guidance in the right direction will be appreciated.
So right now my phone is on 4.2.2, Only thing I've done so far is updated the system apps on the google play market and the camera through there. Soon as I booted up my phone it's prompting me to update to 4.4. Been holding off on that for now until I can get root going. What exactly were the steps that others used to gain root access for the phone and keep root when updating to 4.4 as well. Just a little guidance will be greatly appreciated guys! :good:

Lg l90 no root!

Please help!

Waiting for some development before buying this phone
What methods have you guys tried already to root your device? If you haven't tried these no guarantees they will work but these are worth trying, this, this, and finally this.

Try "fastboot oem unlock" while in fastboot and see
Framaroot is worth a try as it works on moto g and galaxy grand 2
Same chipset should provide a same rooting method
Press thanks :good: if I've helped :highfive:

me too...i want to root my LG L90! but I don't know...
please help
I do not recommend attempting to root a device without a confirmed safe method. Chances are 1 of 3 things will happen: 1) Nothing. 2) Root. 3) Soft brick. If you decide to continue, know that I have NO clue if this will work as these phones are very new and I have not gotten a chance to play with one. This might not do anything. This might set your phone on fire, burn the house down, and/or make you sterile. You should not try this unless you are comfortable with getting out of bootloops with the KDZ updater (if it is available for your phone yet) or the LG Update program. All that aside, if you are brave, you can try this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=48709232&postcount=869&nocache=1&z=7334539103321731
It's one of the only programs that has had much success with rooting the newer LG phones and firmwares. Good luck!
can not..

i have tested it...ioroot25 can not root L90
What step does it fail at? Any error messages? Just saying it didn't work without any other details isn't very helpful.
I am also looking for a root....experts please help !!!

No entry in stock recovery
So is there any confirmed way to get the root?
Just bought this phone and have no free memory and lots of advertisements in PlayStore apps.
First question
Is the bootloader unlocked by default? (should'nt be actually)
Try @bi4nary's root with restore
Or superoneclickroot
Or kingo root
Press thanks :good: if I've helped :highfive:

No, it's not. Those have all been tried, and none of them support Kit Kat. And SuperOneClick? That hasn't worked since GB...
The best idea is ioroot. It roots most LG phones with kitkat firmware. Check it on xda.
But the problem is that we need to get to recovery. But button combinations and adb command do not boot to recovery, only normal boot.
No root till we find the way to boot it to recovery.

I think LG L90 have recovery because when I boot into factory reset mode, the background is Android recovery background. I don't know if we can force to do something else, but I think apk file of settings may be useful. I'm now trying to extract my phone's kdz file with no sucess.
L70 Problem
Same problem as LG L70. I tried many root method and can't find a single one to work. Even with ioroot also because of the No recovery mode problem. And also manual mode of IOroot. But if there is a way that someone can edit it's firmware, a kdz file, we might get L70 and L90 rooted, I hope someone can help us.
root l90..
I really need to root l90 .. ... I hope you can help solve extremely grateful ..

hey guys, i'm currently on 4.2.2 with root (SuperSU + boot to recovery disables write protection). after rooting it, i stopped keeping up with everything, so i never did any of the updates. however, i'm at a point now where i wish to update to the latest, and i'm hoping someone can help me with the steps i need to take to do that. i think i need to unroot and then update, but not sure how. thanks.
Here's a thread to help start you out. A little looking around and you'll find tonnes more about this. An extremely posted about topic.

Help! Please create a proper rooting guide.

Hello everyone! I am new to rooting and stuff, so can anyone please create a proper rooting guide for Asus ROG phone 3. Thanks in advance.

Remember to plug the usb cable in the side port.
Bumping up an old thread as I got my ROG3 yesterday and was able to unlock the bootloader today. Would like to know whether there's an updated rooting guide with TWRP and Magisk (for an Android 11 device). Failed to find a proper rooting guide and any help is welcome as I am bit scared of botching it somewhere.

Haven't seen one but rooting the ROG 3 is fairly straight forward, no unusual steps involved beyond a standard root procedure. Unlock bootloader Extract the boot.img of your rom. Patch it with Magisk. Flash it to the device boot. Install the Magisk Manager app. Done. TWRP is of course recommended but optional for rooting.

Looks like you have a SM-G950U just like me. Unfortunately, it is not possible to unlock the bootloader on this model. Developers tried very hard to find a loophole, and they succeeded at achieving root, but there were major drawbacks like having to downgrade to a pre-release version of the OS, not being able to charge the phone past 80% battery, and many people's devices were getting bricked.
Take a look at this thread: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...e-snapdragon-g950u-u1-v8-bootloaders.4060701/
"I don't know why this happens to only some phones possible a past OTA corrupted a partition on the phones or something. Whatever the reason I have decided to pull the method and will no longer support it. Please don't ask for files or help I will provide neither." -jrkruse
I am also patiently awaiting any sort of new developments, but realistically if you want root, it is time to buy a new device (but make sure the bootloader can be unlocked before you purchase the device). The mobile carriers in the U.S. often make sure bootloaders are harder to unlock.
