P30 Pro Soft bricked - Huawei P30 Pro Questions & Answers

i got my hands on a p30 pro live demo unit, i removed the live demo apps and then tried to install EMUI10 wich was pretty dumb because now the phone doesn't boot anymore. i've tried multiple versions and even tried renaming the different zip files to get a full flash but that doesn't work as the firmware is apparently incompatible. i've also tried to downgrade but also no luck... is there anything else that i can do?

As i've said it and on my dload firmware thread from where i guess you've get the firmwares or read about different methods of flashing, ATM there is NO firmware available for demo devices and ALSO the methods provided may or may not work on demo units. SO now just have to wait for a Huawei demo dload firmware or a breakthrough method of flashing retail firmwares on demo unit (untill now it didn't happen, but who knows what the future will bring?).

so there's nothing i can do? my device will be stuck forever (untill huawei finds a way) and is basically useless?

i'm affraid you know the answer. Beside waiting for a method of flashing a demo dload firmware or for a paid method (if there will be one or if someone allready done it can just reply here), you can change the device motherboard (will cost ~200-300$ depending on GSM service) and get a retail one or sell your device and get another phone (the same or from other OEM).

You should find the link in here. If I remember right b166 is a full rom but read the thread first the info is in there.
Sorry those links aren't working, try http://m.huawei.com/ukmobile/ and near the bottom is a download tab, think the rom you are after is there

This is a C432 build.
Version B136 lastly before B182

Update: U mean L19 not L09 my bad!
I just clicked that link and got the same as you. If you go on www.huawei.com, click on the consumer tab near the top of the page, when the next page loads click on the pic on of p9, scroll down to support which is near the bottom and the download tab is there

Can't you use L09 then OTA update and you get L19?
Thanks very much but it doesn't work on my phone. I think i have damaged it permanent... I did try fastbooting cust, cash, boot, system, userdata, recovery etc but I am not getting anywhere...
Hisuite says that this phone isnt supported so I have no idea what to do... I was hoping that maybe SP-Flash could help but I don't even have a scattered file to try...
Very worried that I have just thrown away a lot of money (( Do you think that huawei service may help with such issue? ofc i will pay rather than do it on a warranty but if they could fix it, I am assuming it will be less than what i've paid for the phone....

Can you get into fastboot mode?
If yes, no worrie!
You will not be able to unlock your bootloader once you forgot to enable the OEM.
If your stock recovery is intact you can use the force update "dload"
Have you tried with same build but L09 instead L19?
If it does not work, it is because your stock recovery is corrupted or has been replaced in this case your only option is DC Phoenix.
You need 15 credits if you do not have a Dongle, you will receive a username and password. DC Phoenix allows you to flash the UPDATE.APP even with the bootloader and FRP is locked.
You can write a L19 firmware C432 with no problem! But choose a previos version like b136 instead b180.
Fastboot mode.

Hi,
Yes, I can get to the fastboot.
I am just looking at the dc-unlocker and dc-phoenix. Would you know, if my phone originally was AL-10, should I flash it with AL-10 firmware and than rebrand it again? or just go for L09 or L19 straight away?
Thank you!!!
sorry for not reporting back sooner but in the end I had to flash my phone with a factory stock for AL-10, then installed Chinese firmware, unlocked it, root it, twrp, srktools, changed oem info, reinstalled L09C432B136, got update straight away and now I am happy as fu*&^* ))))!!!!!!!! MAN, YOU ARE WALKING LEGEND. THANKS VERY MUCH!!!! for 15 euro i have saved myself all hassles with finding a service, posting phone, being without phone for a weeks, and paying silly fees for a repairs, where they could easily say that ie. motherboard needs replacing and I could spend even more...
You don't even know how much I appreciate it!
BTW, when i reflashed factory soft, i got a bit scared that it says Huawe Ascend, but then it turned out that this is literally factory os which is designed to upload proper model software
now i just need to update IMEI number but luckily for one sim card I got it written in a log from DC-phoenix and for another one i hope I will find it somewhere in a twrp backups which i did a few days ago.
THANKS AGAIN!!!!!!

I bricked my Huawei P10 Lite

Hey!
So I bricked my Huawei P10 Lite.
Modell number is WAS-LX1, the 3GB/32GB version
And it ran WAS-LX1C432B127
So I tried to flash the stock rom, but I couldn't find the exact same rom, only WAS-LX1AC432
I downloaded different versions from it from different sites, and flashed them with huawei multi tool, but none of them worked, I have no sound and NFC keeps turning on-and of.
I couldn't even find the same version with Firmware Finder.
Please help me guys I have read the whole internet
Hi buddy !

Hey! Thanks for ur reply! Since that, while I was flashing different firmwares, somehow I relocked my bootloader, and ended up in eRecovery bootloop, and because my bootloader was locked, I couldn't flash firmwares anymore. But, to reunlock the bootloader, I needed the unlock code, which I lost, and to obtain a new one I eneded the product ID which is only accessible by the dialer. So, I decided to use funkyhuawei. As I Said, I had a WAS-LX1 with WAS-LX1C432B127. So, on funkyhuawei I chose WAS-LX1C432, but it couldn't find the update with eRecovery. I tried WAS-LX1AC432 too, but without success. So, I satrted to try all WAS-LX1 adn LX1A firmwares. I was able to install a WAS-LX1AC02 firmware. Now my phone think it's a LX1A and has no software upgrade option, but other than that it 100% works. As I see u are in serious trouble, I can feel ur pain. I have 3 credits left on my funkyhuawei account. It was pretty expensive, but I want to give u 1 free flash. I would give all of u in trouble, but maybe I will need it later So PM me if u want a flash and I can help u

I also bricked my p10 lite...
So if you're possible please give me a credit?
Sorry for my english.
Hi people, i bricked my huawei p10 lite was-lx2. Unlock and twrp. anyone have the firmware? I google it already but does not found any. WAS-LX2C636B130 dual-sim malaysia. Or if there is the way i can debrand it with "dual-sim and support my telco" firmware. tell me if its possible.
I have the same problem. After spending some time I found the problem.
For me it looks like one of the product or vendor partition is ****ed up, so it cant load the drivers from there. Since the files are OK it could be a signature problem. I started copying the smaller part ion in the bigger ones, because it fits in there... And the sound and bootlogo are working fine. BUT no camera. Later I saw some hard-coded paths so the problem was not really fix yet.
When you disable se-linux in the boot partition (Kerner parameter) all working fine. Bootlogo, sound, camera, nfc... I don't know why this happened. I used my own backup partition and the stock you can download.. Nothing works. If anyone has an idea how to get back to real stock that would be great because I want to have ota updates back working

P20 pro bricked!

Bricked my clt l29 c432
I had updated to new emui 9 .163
Used the funky downgrade firmware to go back to .156 and my phone got to 87%, shut down and bricked.
Is there any way back?
Im done with huawei this company is a joke. What year is it that you can still brick a phone from a simple downgrade.

1) is your unit originally c432 or did you rebrand it (from c782)?
2) was the firmware u selected on fh website "Downgrade from EMUI9 to EMUI8 CLT-L29 8.1.0.156(C432)"?
I've used this method several times since September (both on beta and "stable") I did little research and It seems to be the first case on xda (p20 pro) when using this method resulted in hard brick so i try to figure out what could go wrong and even warn other users. This information can be very helpful for our community. I would appreciate your cooperation.

Thank You. This information is very helpful. I've used it with beta .47 ; .108 and "stable" .163.
I totally agree with dladz and I admit funky acted extremaly unprofessional. It's unacceptable when they charge custumers a lot and don't even test /know products they sell. They should've never suggested that method would work on your rebranded device without testing it thouroughly. Once You bricked your device they mercifully offered you discount? It's beyond ridiculous!

I asked funky if there was any way out of it, they replied not if it cant get into fastboot mode. I then asked if a replacement device came will they give me a bootloader code. The response 'we can offer a discount on a new code'.
I dont know what went wrong, i used the same hisuite method ive used for my last few updates.
The response I was expecting was, yeah your right have a free bootloader code if you get a replacement......nope...

Not sure why you even commented here. But I'll entertain it once.
Huawei is the problem.
Slow updates apart from european region.
Lack of any developer friendly software.
Lack of bootloading unlocking.
If there was only 1 region model of the phone then there wouldnt be thousands of people moaning of slow updates.
There also wouldnt be dozens of threads of people moaning about slow updates.
There would also be no need for the rip off that is funky huawei if there was no need for region changes.
To top it off this thread was made because I bricked my phone. In 2018 any phone that can be bricked is not a phone worth buying.
Cheers.

No slow updates here in germany. It comes in waves but where is the problem with a update 2 weeks later?
With the open bootloader the problem is that this is exactly what happened here. Therefore there is no Unlock Bootloader anymore because of all the funky huawei garbage.

You dont know what you're talking about. Who said my bootloader was unlocked? Who said there was a problem with the update? No one. The reason i went back was because i needed call recording and a file that I was told should have worked bricked my phone. Its as simple as that.

S10 got stuck at firmware update.

Hello there, I'm stuck with a situation and I can't fix the phone.
I live in Canada and I bought the phone here (Canadian software version and also unlocked) and gave it to a relative who lives in the USA to use. Recently, she has a firmware update notification from her phone, however, it always gets stuck at 28%, and the download fails. So she plugged the s10 device into her computer and used Smart Switch to download the new firmware. After she finished downloading it, she clicked to install the new firmware on her phone. That's when the problem starts... She got stuck on this screen forever and she even tried to soft reset/restart the phone but it just went back to that screen.
What I think happened was it's a Canadian version phone but the new firmware is the US version and it tried to install and crashed.
Could anyone give me some advice on fixing this problem?

for sure man, i sometimes skip the long winded Odin stuff because ive typed out like 3 paragraphs of Odin instructions and the person i was replying to already knew 75% of what i just typed LOL
aaaaanyways, downloading Odin from a trusted source isnt an issue. Ive downloaded soooo many versions of Odin over the years and from so many different places, i cant imagine an infected Odin. Im sure they exist, but ive never seen one. ive got Odin from here before, and it was fine. Also, yes, youd definitely want to download the canadian version of it. You should be able to flash the U1 version (fully unlocked) so long as you have a snapdragon processor, but youd need whats called "Patched Odin" to do it. The U1 thing is kind of a tangent, but youll find out that there are a TON of rabbit holes you can find yourself in from time to time. The best thing to do is to just flash the FW for the model of phone you own unless you plan on tinkering. sammobile.com/firmwares is where you want to search for the FW and samfirm is an exe youre going to want to use to actually download the FW itself. Samfirm downloads it literally 5x faster.

yep. sorry, i forgot to mention that part. Zero worry tho, its just a thing caused by the bootloader that your phone was most recently on being too new for the FW youre trying to flash. Thats whats causing the binary error, the binary currently installed is greater than the one youre trying to install so the phone wont physically allow it. Its not even a software thing, it gets hard coded. Anyways, get the most current one and reflash. It wont fail again with the same reason on the newest firmware, but if it does fail, try a different cable, download the file again. it might have corrupted during the download. If youre not using patched Odin, you literally cant screw it up so badly you cant recover it

Thank you so so much! I fixed the phone and it works now. For future firmware updates, I have to do this every time? Is there any option that i can change my firmware permanently to the US version so that I can get auto-update on the phone instead of using ODIN every time?

Huawei 20 mate lite soft bricked

Hi , soft bricked my Huawei Mate 20 lite. Model is SNE-LX1 HW/EU. Did a firmware upgrade to frp unlock Since then get black screen with yellow text saying a new OS has been installed and device reboots in recovery. Reinstalled already different firmware versions via sload SD card upgrade + use fastboot to unlock FRP code. Fastboot unlock command completes successfully and device does automatically a low level format to then come back to "different os installed message. Anyone advice ?
Hi phitilip, I can't help you on the bricked part (yet). I assume you tried to use Huawei Hisuite software to restore the original firmware so you could possible start over?
I recently got my Mate 20 Lite and haven't messed with it too much (yet!). I do have a question for you though. How did you get the bootloader unlocked? The only way I have found is to pay some random person/company for an unlock code. Trying to avoid that. By the way, I'm in the USA and also on SNE-LX1 with a 'global' designation.

Hi , the unlock code I purchased was for the FRP unlock because I was told would solve my problem and although the code is correct and allows to do a factory reset it will not solve the "you installed a new software ..." message. When looking online I found that I probably installed the wrong region code firmware but tried everything and cannot get the phone to boot normally. Any advise would be very appreciated.
Can you get to recovery or download?
I'm much more familiar with Samsung devices so my frame of reference is there. How did you flash the new rom? What tool? Where did you get the rom from?
Since you can reset to factory, but that still gives you the error, the only way I can think of so far, with the very little experience I have with Huawei devices, is to find two things if you can. First try to find a 3rd party recovery like TWRP or CWM or possibly use the tool you used to flash the ROM. Flash that if possible to the recovery partition. Then find the original factory firmware for your device and region, even if you have to go beck to Android 9. Then from recovery, or the tool you used to flash new rom, flash that. I'll do some research and see if I can find anything you haven't. From my limited searching for my own Mate 20 Lite, there doesn't seem to be much out there. What's your objective in all of this? Are you just looking to root? Did Hisuite play any role in this? The good news is I have the exact same device as you so I can try some things while it's not bricked
