I have a moto one Power and a g5 plus... The g5 plus gets lte+ and around 16mbps speed on jio Sim whereas the one power never catches lte+ and internet speed barely exceeds 500kbps...why is my one power not catching lte+.. Is there anything I can do?

Symptoms started off with 4G being horribly slow (1-3mb where I normally get 20-25). Wireless hotspot (paid for) was pulling even less and not loading pages. I tried a factory reset to no avail. To compound the issues, the LTE chip on the phone completely died. It would not pull anything 4G and 3G would shut down after a few minutes. 4G would no longer turn on - and this was before the so called 4G outage.
Verizon tech support was so abysmal, it made me wonder how they got their positions. With two phones side by side - thunderbolt pulling 25mbs, and the Bionic pulling 1-2mbs .2 upload, it was perfectly fine to them. "We dont guarantee speeds". Ok fine I understand that, but dont tell me something isnt wrong with the phone when there clearly is. When a 4G LTE connection with 5 bars is pulling speeds consistent with 3G... um ya.
The battery was also draining like no ones business with everything turned off (syncing, GPS, etc). Im talking 15% battery drain every 45 minutes with hardly any usage.
Compounding the issues - hotspot would fail after about 10 minutes and completely shut down my data. They also claimed there was nothing wrong with my phone in this instance so I figured it was best to bring it to a Verizon store.
New phone - 25mb down 8 up (speeds ive never seen on my bionic) hotspot working perfectly as is everything else. The guy at the Verizon store laughed about the phone support and just had one of their techs look at it.
So if you have any issues I highly recommend finding a VW with a service center because its a crap shoot anytime you call their support line.
Happy camper once again
So I've finally switched from VZW to AT&T on my XT1060. Data and everything works great, but I've noticed a considerable hit to battery life after popping in the new AT&T sim. Where I used to get a whole day's worth of battery (anywhere from 18-20 hours with about 3 hours SOT), I now maybe get 10-12 hours tops with barely 1.5 hours SOT. I wish I had screenshots to share, but I currently don't have any. I haven't noticed any wakelocks or abnormal app behavior, so I can't pinpoint the culprit. My only guess is an issue with the sim itself or something else. Does anyone have ideas or experienced anything similar?

Funny you mention this as I was about to make a similar post!
Same situation basically, took a VZW Moto x and as of a few days ago ported to Consumer Cellular (AT&T). Battery life has been terrible, though while nothing has changed program or application wise, my guess was more battery being used for the radio connection?
I need to review some battery stats and post some images, but today I had the phone on for 8 hours with about 1hr talk and 1 hour screen time and it's at 10%. this didn't happen last week!!
Need Gsam screen shots to help. Otherwise it's all guesses. ?
Get those and we can see. Fromm 100 to near dead is best before taking them.
Well I got the new Moto X for my birthday surprisingly, so this isn't an issue for me anymore. But, if you guys do find anything I am interested in knowing.
What is your signal like on AT&T if it's bad it can drain your battery much faster than when used on Verizon (if you signal is strong with them).
Got up this AM and left my phone on overnight to see the impact with no usage...

Not sure I get the Textra and calendar situation?
This is using Consumer Cellular on my VZW XT1060, perhaps I don;t have the correct GSM bands for my local towers?
Right now I'm getting a good HSPA+ signal(-89bdm) but I noticed the phone had switched network type from LTE/GSM/UMTS to Global the other day, perhaps that's a factor?!
Chip
Or perhaps more appropriate are today's results...
The radio interface kernel wakelock is the one hurting I think.... And that's usually due to a poor signal while on data. The 3 hours your were NOT on wifi, was your signal very low? If you can next charge, can you post your stock battery screen graph? If there's a lot if yellow or red in your bar for signal... While not on wifi.... That is likely your issue.
Nothing else in your screens looks out of place.
Darth,
I believe you are correct in that the signal it's finding (that the VZW DE supports) is a strain, I'm seeing a fair amount of yellow. I'll post an image.
I had hoped to be able to get some decent life out the VZE version of my X to warrant not having to buy a GSM version, looks like that might not happen!
Attached is a pic from better battery stats. Is this com.att.iqi.Wakelock carrier iq from att? I disabled the package just now but what other screen shots would someone need to help me figure this out? I'm half tempted to return the phone the battery life is so bad. I unplug the phone at 630 go to work and by 430 it's at 40ish percent. It's insane and I'm not even using the phone.
Question do you have poor/no service at work. Having the phone constantly look for a connection it can get to will most likely drain your battery life fast. Here's a screenshot of mine to compare. And I used mine
I have bad service where I live but that didn't have as big of an effect on my iphones battery. I love the note but maybe Android just doesn't handle middle of the road service the way the iPhone does? I have WiFi on and wifi calling on at work and home so that's more baffling to me than anything else.
That screenshot doesn't tell anything. I almost wonder if you are trolling. At&t is bad with network congestion and slow speeds even if coverage is great. iPhone is bad. Worse on At&t. I don't see what your battery percentage is and your stats seem to tell you just took it off the charger. Have you disabled 2g/GSM? Have you themed your phone? Have you stopped comparing it to iPhone? (Of which it has smaller screen and lower resolution) None of my iPhones in Houston area have ever had better battery life that my daily driver Android phones. I have to use wifi at home because signal is terrible at my house and network congestion is from 6am-6pm or longer. Even after those times at&t is slow even with preferential treatment to iPhones.
Wow way to jump off topic calling me a troll. Very informative and helpful. Attached is a better pic that shows iqi and Ims services wakelocking being left off the charger overnight. This is after a factory reset with Odin and debloating using ADB. If more information is needed, ask dont bash. It's uncalled for.
Juss wanted to start a thread for Canadians who have or who are considering this phone. I love the Specs and Size. But the VOLTE has me concerned. Not sure how it applies to Canadian providers. So please share ur experiences.
Rog phone 2 in Canada
I got the phone just after Jan 4, using Rogers Network. So far I loving the phone there are a few issues I do have with it .
-1 st issue is the battery graph, the graph part showing your battery life works, but will not show any apps that used any of the battery. eg it only will show screen time % and and screen Idle time %, even while I used it for gaming and social media apps it will not show the % of battery for those.
-2nd issue is the rgb lighting on the back of the phone it is hit and miss for when you set it up for notification. to have it blink when you have any notifications.. most days it never works unless you turn the screen on and off while you have a notification then it works. but really defeats the purpose if having to do that. hope that Andriod 10 fixes these problems
For everything else the phone is great I avg 2-3 days battery life before charging, I not a hard core gamer on it, but for everything else it works great.,
for the rogers network I get all bands for the 2G/3G/4G just no Volte or VoWiFi.. If its a Must have then this phone may not do for you, youll need to go thru these forums to get it working .
I got my phone about 2 weeks ago. So far happy with the phone it been a beast.
Phone calls drop back down to 3g or h+ due to no volte bit has not caused any problems yet. If your not with Rogers/Fido you may be able to get volte working .
We're you looking to buy the 12/512 or the 8/128 ? I got a great deal on Kijiji for a brand new tencent 8/128 as the person selling it was unaware of what he bought but after following the guides here and flashing etc the phone's been great.

For app usage you need to go to battery then click on three dots at top right corner and select Show app usage.
For me it always blink when I have a notification. Try trying off system lighting and turning back again
I am using the tmobile fe and it appears that I can use 5g for only a couple minutes then the phone gets hot and it swaps back to 4g. Has anyone else noticed that? I might just be in a bad 5g area /shrug (Dallas Tx) I also noticed massive battery drain (I guess cause it keeps swapping back and fourth)
Let me know if this is happening to any of you guys!
I'm on AT&T and once in a rare occasion I see the 5G switch to LTE. It only lasts for a minute or so. Not sure how often it happens because I would have to stare at my screen all day..lol. But even when I notice it nothing seems to change for better or worse. Nothing like you are experiencing. I wonder if it's the phone or the carrier??? If the carrier is not projecting their 5G signal then the phone is going to struggle to maintain it thereby causing erratic signal behavior and possible overheating as a result of the phone trying to hold on to that weak 5G signal.
