So, ur phone is thinkin' that sensor activated? If that has mean only in dialer, try installing this program: myLock phone tools and set there "Onscreen Accept", "Onscreen Reject" and "Touchscreen lock", that should help u.
I am having same problem, proximity sensor isn't working properly, once screen goes off, can't drop the call. Is there any script or app which can disable prox sensor completely. I am using Android 2.1 rooted phone.
Thank you very much in advance.
same problem
Same problem here my proximity doesn't works, if I call or I attend call screen gets black
None of the keys works at this time. I found an app in market called 'proximity screen off' but as its an app It eats ram & it needs to run anytime in background I need a permanent solution.
Somebody have any idea to disable this sensor using

I have the same issue I already put some spongy tape above the proximity sensor but it's not perfect. I always press the the display with my finger an inch below the left upper corner of the phone after a call and the screen is back.

I used Proximity Sensor Finder app from market to test my sensor.

Problem with proximity sensor stuck at max value

Hi all,
I noticed that my proximity sensor isn't functioning. In fact when I call the screen remains active even if I put my hand over the sensor. I used CM10 so I reflashed stock GB ROM and it still does the same. If I use the *#0588# test I always get "Proximity: 1" value. It seems like my proximity sensor isn't working but my light sensor does. What could be the problem here?
I also tried cleaning the screen, lifting the protective plastic but no way, it still doesn't work. Also I dismounted the Galaxy S, tried to blow some air with a compressor, tried to clean the inner surface but no luck...

How to Disable proximity sensor.?

Hi Guyz,
My friend dropped his nexus one on the floor and from then on he is facing a weird problem. When he receives a call, when the sensor is turned on, the screen never comes back and it remains black. The only option is to pull out the battery and i suppose the drop has made proximity sensor faulty. He is not a rooted user. Is there any menthod to disable proximity sensor without rooting ? If not how can i fix it after rooting ? Any build.prop changes ?
Thanks,
karthik

hey Karthikus , I know this is not a new post, I would like to know if you solved your friends's problem, I have exactly the same, I used a couple of apps to disable the proximity sensor but still no luck, by the way I have the cyanogen mod 7 in my nexus now. the phone is a beauty, but its kinda annoying to have to remove the battery after a few calls, also I'm using a bluetooth headset, wich kinda minimizes the problem, but still not happy. please let me know , or not, I'm planning to build a disable sensors app myself in case I can't fixit. oh, and I tried all the other solutions I could find in google, like cleaning the sensors, (I dismantled the phone already) and enabling other ways to bring the screen up using other methods like trackball press or menu press. no way, still there. so please let me know. if still relevant.
thank you.

Does my friends A71 have a pixel error?

Hello guys can anyone help me, my friend is telling me, that he got that wired pixel since he started using his phone. For me this looks damaged and for me it should be returned to get repaired. Anyone know if it's damaged or not?
Thanks in advance! ;-)
That looks to me like the proximity sensor, and yeah it's inside the screen among the subpixels.
Is it emiting Green-color light ?
Is it flashing ?
It should start functioning during calls where the screen turns off as you rise your phone close to the ear but it might go on when the screen is off as part of the "Accidental touch protection" feature if it is on.
Some other apps might make different uses of proximity sensor.
If the pixel is permanently turned green without intermittent lighting it might be an issue with the sensors driver. If it's not emiting a green-color light then it might be some other pixel and not the proximity sensor one.
