[Mi 9 Lite] "Blackscreen" after fingerprint unlock in Google Apps - Xiaomi Mi CC9 / Mi 9 Lite Questions & Answers

Hey people,
i got an issue with my Mi 9 Lite:
Almost every time when im unlocking with my fingerprint, my smartphone with an Google App in the foreground, behind the lockscreen it's getting a "blackscreen" with just the status bar visible (and the navbar when activated - currently using the gestures, but it's the same).
It happens with Chrome, YouTube, Calendar and so on...
So far i tried this to prevent it from happening:
- Wipe Cache - no change
- Factory Reset - no change
- uninstalled with ADB most of the Gapps and installed them from the store - no change - no change
- disabled Nova Launcher and used the standard one - no change
- disabled/uninstalled Blokada - no change
- enabled/diabled gestures - no change
- deleted fingerprint scans and created new ones
To return from the "blackscreen" I can handle it like this:
- "return" with the gesture to a previous app
- tap on the homebutton, when navbar is activated
- turn the screen off + try again - sometimes it works
There must be a correlation with the fingerprint reader, cause when the animation around the reader flickers it's definitely happening
I really don't know what to do.
Here's a demonstration of that behavior:
Thank you for your help

Try to change "Google discover " to "app vault".

Note: MoDaCo Toolkit is no longer available via the Play Store. MoDaCo Toolkit is now a free, ad-supported application with a Pro version. Previous Play Store purchasers will receive the Pro key free of charge (details to follow)
As you may know, I often create modifications for Android and rather than them ending up all over the place, I'm now adding them to the 'MoDaCo Toolkit', which is built to use the Xposed Framework - http://mdc.gd/xposedfw. I plan on updating this every time I come up with a new tweak, be it a generic Android modification or specific to a particular device.
The pre-requisites are as follows:
You MUST be rooted
You MUST have the Xposed Framework installed and active
You MUST accept that modifications are used at your own risk
You may NOT distribute the toolkit (including in custom ROMs) - link back to this topic
Hit the 'Follow' button at the top right of the main MoDaCo Tookit topic to be notified of updates
Got that? OK.
The Toolkit can be downloaded in the main Xposed Toolkit thread here.
To use, simply download and install, enable the module in 'Xposed settings' and then enable the mods you want in the 'MoDaCo Toolkit' application. Note that most modifications will require a reboot to take effect and not all modifications will work on all devices!
HTC One specific modifications currently included are:
Action Launcher Pro + HTC One: Transparent status bar.
HTC One: Disable high volume warning - disable the volume warning that shows when cranking up the sound with headphones in.
HTC One: Enable ADB with secure lockscreen - ADB WILL NOT be disabled on boot if the device has a secure lockscreen configuration. DANGER: This is a potential security risk - handle with care!
HTC One: Enable advanced reboot options - aka EPM, show reboot / recovery / bootloader reboot options on power menu.
HTC One: Enable button options (only required on Android 4.1 ROMs) - the button options item will appear in settings, allowing you to configure the back button long press as menu.
HTC One: Volume wake - wake your device with the volume keys!
HTC One: Hide Kid Mode on power menu - this removes the Kid Mode option on the menu displayed when you long press the power button.
HTC One: Match battery image to % - the standard battery images don't correspond to the % remaining, this fixes that.
HTC One: Rename Flashlight to Torch - for us UK types.
HTC One: Show Blinkfeed icon in launcher - if you are using a third party launcher, this provides a simple way to access Blinkfeed. Just remove all the homescreens.
Other modifications currently included are:
Amazon MP3: Force US locale - use this if cloud player is not yet available in your country. Clear data on Amazon MP3 after enabling.
Facebook: Force Home Compatibility: Facebook will detect your device as Facebook Home compatible.
Google: Disable Wallet checks - remove region and root checks from Google Wallet.
Google: Force Play Store to 720P - your device will appear as a 720P device to the store, useful if apps are missing on your 1080P device.
Google: Prevent app disabling - apps from outside your region (e.g. Wallet, Sound Search) will not be disabled on startup.
Google Nexus 7: Show Camera in launcher - restore the missing Camera icon to the launcher.
Google Nexus (all): Disable safe volume warning.
Google Nexus (all): Enable multi-user support if unsupported on stock (e.g. Nexus 4).
Google Nexus (all): Enable advanced reboot options - aka EPM, show reboot / recovery / bootloader reboot options on power menu.
Google Nexus (all): Show user on power menu - this allows you to switch users using the long-press power menu.
HTC First: Hide carrier in status bar - stop the carrier name showing in the top left.
Pebble: Low priority notification (removes persistent icon).
SlingPlayer: Disable legacy hardware warning - remove the warning when connecting to older Slingboxes.
System: Allow all rotations - rotation will be allowed in all directions, even upside down.
System: Device properties - a number of device properties (normally read from build.prop) can be changed on the fly. BOARD, BRAND, DEVICE, MODEL and PRODUCT are included initially. Want others? Let me know!
System: Disable forward lock - apps will not be able to install to /mnt/asec, instead installing to /data/app. NOTE: May cause issues on some Samsung devices.
System: Enable action bar menu button - the software menu button will be displayed even if you have a hardware menu button.
System: Enable app buttons - the disable and notification options will be enabled for system apps.
System: Enable dreams service - enable the dreams screensaver service.
System: Enable lock screen rotation - if your device supports it, this will allow lock screen use in landscape.
System UI: Custom operator name.
System UI: Hide AM/PM on clock - hide the AM/PM indicator on the clock when not in 24H mode.
System UI: Hide battery meter - hide the battery meter, useful if you're using a third party app in the notification bar like Battery Widget Reborn (now also supports the HTC One!) or battery percentage.
System UI: Hide ongoing IME switcher - hide on the input method switch prompt.
System UI: Show battery percentage - show the remaining battery percentage next to the clock.
System UI: Show navigation bar - this allows you to show the navigation bar on supported devices.
Trackball Alert: Easy download link - easily download the TBA app and Xposed module.
Wireless: Enable NFC when screen is off - NFC works when the screen is off, useful for NFC launch tasks.
Wireless: Enable Face Lock with VPN - VPN (Credential Storage) will be available with Face Lock security.
If you have specific tweak requests or general questions, please visit http://mdc.gd/modacotoolkit
Note that special steps are required to activate the Xposed framework on the HTC One - see http://mdc.gd/xposedfwone for further details.
Big thanks go out to rovo89 for the framework and also to Bharath Prabhuswamy for the application icon.

[SOLVED] How to get pre-Lollipop features back

And get rid of a few annoyances in the mean time?
EDIT: SOLUTION it cost me half a sunday if not more.
I have a stock Moto X 2013, Europe version. I was very happy with it, apart from a few minor annoyances. Untill I received the Lollipop update months ago.
Missing features or new annoyances since Lollipop:
Wake display by waiving your hand. This was in my opinion a killer feature.
SOLUTION: This website which presents a solution using TASKER. Untested
Shutdown menu - extremely annoying if you just want to reboot
Enable flight mode via Shutdown menu, since the menu is gone, you miss this option as well
Mute phone with 1 button, the volume down button. The alternative, selecting MUTE also disables screen or glow notifications. There is NO way to only mute sound/vibration a Moto X 2013 with Lollipop. You have a SMARTphone that cannot be muted like any other phone!
Bluetooth and mobile data toggles have been removed. OMG even Windows Phone 8 has it.
Lockscreen: swipe to right for camera. Gone.
White popup (general Lollipop annoyance): if you swipe it away, the notification is gone from the bar, you cannot read it/respond from the notification bar after swiping it away.
Minor but not dealbreaker features I would like to have: hide NFC and Bluetooth icon in the notification bar, be able to hide app icons and/or rearrange them in the app drawer.
What do I need to do to get all these features back? I want to stick to the stock experience as much as possible. Custom ROMs with tons of customisation features is not what I am waiting for. A custom ROM with near-stock experience and fixes for the issues mentioned above would be welcome.
But if it is possible to solve all of them with XPosed and/or Tasker, that would be fine. Unfortunately I searched these forums for 3 days now and I cannot find a dedicated Xposed topic with this info (there is 1 but it has little useful info). I hope others have a similar experience and found a solution!

This is a question, shouldn't it be in the Q&A?
1) This can be restored by flashing the 4.4.4 firmware
2) Xposed -> GravityBox (Power)
3) Xposed -> GravityBox (Power)
4) Tasker?
5) Xposed -> GravityBox (QuickSettings), or if you mess with the settings for either of those they may pop up in the quick toggles after some time
6) Xposed -> GravityBox (QuickSettings)
7) Xposed -> GravityBox (Notification Ticker)
Status bar icons can be hidden in GravityBox (Statusbar)
The drawer changing can be done with XGELs (Google Experience Launcher)
If this information helped you get it working, be sure to pay it forward by donating if you can
I am definitely going to unlock bootloader, root and install Xposed, see if I can get all of this back. Saves me the risk of potentially unstable ROMs and saving a lot of time testing different ROMs. Thanks a lot!
And yes, I believe projects like Xposed absolutely deserve a donation. I just finished flashing my own HTC One M7, it will also have Xposed (first time going to use it). The Motorola is owned by the lady. I will definitely donate if it works for me.
Wave-to-wake is present in some roms, for example the modded stock rom
There is also the lockscreen with the swipe for the camera.
In order to modify the power menu, you can use APM+.
For the toggles use Gravity Box.

Good to know, but why would I go to all the trouble to install that ROM (which would include wiping my phone) if I can reach all those goals with XPosed/GravityBox
I have stock Lollipop 5.1 European version about:
5 - bluetooth toggle exists, IIRC it only appears if you use it; mobile data toggle also exists, just need two clicks - one on mobile data tile and one on toggle
6 - don't know about secure screen options but if you don't use password/pin/other you can swipe left for camera and right for dialer
7 - you can swipe that popup up to just hide it and without dismissing or use one of this app to remove/modify them "Heads-up Notifications" "HeadsOff - TickerOn" even without root
I believe that the Nexus Experience rom (NX ROM) offers most, if not all of the features that you're looking for, and it offers a very stock experience. The only reason that I don't run it is because I've grown accustom to tapping gently on my phones shoulder when it's sitting on my desk to activate the Active Display to see what time it is or what notifications I've been ignoring. With NX ROM, Active Display works great, but it's not as sensitive. So I have to tip my phone up, or sideways, to about 15 degrees before Active Display activates with. A very minor issue, but I'm very picky.
As far as I remember, it has the hand wave feature, power off/reboot/airplane mode menu, all kinds of toggles, and I believe volume down to mute as well. It doesn't do swipe right for camera, but you can swipe from bottom right corner, or from bottom left (customizable) to activate the camera. Not sure about the white popup thing because I didn't use it that long.
Thanks for all the suggestions.
I am extremely annoyed by Google removing useful functionality, harming productivity and introducing new design which is clearly not meant for OLED screens (all white). But with all these suggestions I can hopefully stick with the Moto X for a long time, since no brand but Sony will bring us high end <5" phones.

Also have the European version, but I have a completely different experience. Swiping heads up notification always removes the notification from the statusbar (on all Lollipop phones, not just Motorola). On my HTC One M7 with GPE+ ROM I could lower the popup to 1sec allowing me to access the notification in the statusbar when needed. Works fine.
Another Lollipop bug (not even fixed in Android 6.0.1) is that the dialer shows ALL contacts of ALL your accounts (Google, Exchange, Outlook, Facebook, Skype etc) regardless if they have a phone number or not. The Contacts app does allow you to select specifically which contacts to show per group per account. In 4.4.4 this also applied to the dialer, since 5.0 it does not anymore. Google it and you will see people going nuts about this. A Google employee replying it will be "fixed" in M.. which is nuts since most phones with this issue will never receive an M upgrade.. also, now that M is available for Nexus, it's not fixed. The only solution: find a better dialer in Play Store.. this nums me completely... a phone OS should have at least a good dialer.. and apart from this issue the dialer works fine.
SOLVED
SOLVED:
Documentation + all links below in case anyone or myself ever need to do this again.
The most important part explained in detail:
- uninstall any phone drivers from other phones, uninstall Android SDK etc
- install Motorola USB drivers (Motorola Manager)
- install Minimal ADB & Fastboot in C:\adbfb and install mfastboot in that same folder, use mfastboot instead of fastboot. Scroll down in the Minimal topic to find the link to the Fastboot guide. It lists the command to flash recovery (TWRP): NOTE !!! unplug the phone from the PC right after flashing recovery and use the volume down button to scroll to Recovery in Bootloader, use VOLUME UP to select recovery after uplugging, not the shutdown button and do not reboot first (I used shutdown button and rebooted and spend 2 hours figuring this out)!
- copy all required files (the ROM plus its addons) to c:\adbfb.
- Flash using TWRP, first the ROM, then the addons, then factory reset via TWRP.
Short overall steps:
1. bootloader unlocked via the Motorola site (official method)
2. installed TWRP 2.8.6.0 (the newer one has an issue)
3. installed the modded/debloated stock ROM
4. also installed all the addons for that ROM, listed in that same first post.
5. After first boot and initial setup, Copied Xposed Installer, AdAway and installed them via Amaze File Manager (Play Store).
6. Installed the Xposed modules: GravityBox, Moto Checkbox, Sensify, BTAudio. Used GravityBox and Moto CheckBox to get most features back and personalise Quicksettings and some other great tweaks.
7. Used Sensify to install the HTC Sense Launcher (read the first post to install the correct version!!) which is basically stock launcher WITHOUT persistant Google Search Bar WITH ability to rearrange/group/hide apps in the app drawer and with black background, good for our OLED screen. No free launcher in the Play Store is as simple and plain as this one with these features (Nova Prime can do it but it costs €5 and adds a huge load of features I never need).
8. Wave-to-Wake is still not present in the debloated ROM but I will use the Tasker workaround. Haven't tested this yet.
9. To get the maximum out of your battery and have apps that are easier on the eyes, create a backup using TWRP and carefully follow the instructions of Team Blackout (Black Chrome, Black Calendar, Black Hangouts, Black Keep, Black Whatsapp etc). Haven't tested this yet.
10. Play Store > Settings: disable auto-update in Play Store, also disable the notification of updates.

How to add a Power Off Button in the Status Bar?

I have a Rooted Note 4 (T-Mobile) N910T 6.0.1
I would like to add a Power Off Button (Actually just sleep - not actual power off)
I had TEKXodus N4 ROM on it for a bit - but I had issues with it and went back to Stock Firmware.
TEKXodus N4 has a great little Power Off Button at the top right corner of the status bar.
I am looking for a way to do that.
Does GravityBox do that? (It's been a long time since I used GravityBox)
Thanks!
Edit Note:
I did find that the launcher I use (Nova Launcher) has a setting I can use to make a Gesture - Screen Lock - that works well and does not affect Air Wake either)
Some of the Screen Off and Lock Apps seemed to kill AirWake when I tried them a while ago)
The only problem with using a gesture in NOVA Launcher is: It Locks the Screen vs just turn off the Screen (like hitting the power button does).
I use Smart Lock when at home and work - wifi - locations and all I have to do is use airwake to wake it up, then swipe the screen
If I use the NOVA setting it locks my Note 4 and I have to Swipe fingerprint or if using a pin enter it
I know it can be done as it is in TEKXodus N4 ROM I used - I just had too many random reboots (Even after completely wiping all but ext SD Card 4 x)

Yeah.. I had similar issues when watching YouTube videos on that ROM.. :/
Look into all in one gestures on the play store. You can set up single or double tap, and long press gestures to the status bar.
I used it on one rom to bring down the brightness slider in a floating little window when i held down the status bar as it was missing from the notification panel...
I found an app that does just this!
"Screen off via short timeout" DYNA Logix
I can tap the screen off icon and then later I can wake up with say Air Wake and my fingerprint
Every other app I found messed with SmartLock and Finger Print unlock

Question Third Party Launcher + Gestures

Hi everyone,
trying on MIUI 12.5 to enable Microsoft Launcher with Gestures instead of the 3 Bar Bottom Navigation.
Installed "MyGestures" App - which enables gestures - fine.
But still having the 3 buttons bar on the bottom.
Have tried FNG which is recommended by many people, but it only hides the 3 bar bottom - still having a black bar.
Some months ago (before I wiped my phone) I have enabled the gestures in the MIUI menu, and it hid the navigation bar.
But now I get the following chinese info (seems like a message to activate the default launcher, as it gets enabled after right clicking the button)
see screenshot.
Any idea how to activate it without auto starting default launcher?
well for anyone with the same problem, I got a workaround which is quite embarrasing but at least it works to remove the 3-bar navigation.
You need the "LADB" application from Playstore which sadly costs some money.
Then in short:
1. Developer Options - > Wireless ADB enable
2. start LADB and connect it (you have to use dual window feature, because otherwise the port+pin will change)
you need to do this once, after setting up - it will connect next time automatically.
3. insert in LADB command line: settings put global force_fsg_nav_bar 1
It works good. But you have to do it again after a reboot.

Question Screen turns on by itself?

The Phone would be off on the table and the screen suddenly turns on for no reason, I have all automatic screen wake features off (raise to wake, notifications, etc) which I find quite bizarre.
I have looked it up on reddit and google and it doesn't seem a common problem at all.
it's surely a software issue since the device never locks itself while being used so the button cannot be defective.
Does anyone have this issue as well?
I don't have this problem, it sleeps like a baby )
I'm sure you also noticed significant battery drain while on standby because something prevents it from going to deep sleep...
What I recommend is to:
- disable auto launch for all the applications that you don't want notifications from.
go to Settings - Apps - Auto launch and disable as many as you can (I only have whatsapp enabled)
- disable system apps you don't use (check my screenshot for reference)
- Apps - Display over other apps - and set them on not allowed.

I barely have any apps with these permissions.
I heard that changing animation scale in developer options can lead to this problem in some phones? I'm not sure but I'm testing that too.
the problem is that it doesn't always happen, sometimes a whole day passes and nothing happens, and then suddenly it decides that it wants to turn itself on whenever I turn it off.
