Hello.
I have a problem with Xiaomi MI A2.
The phone displays androdid one and restarts.
After pressing power + volume up it enters the "no command" mode.
But this screen is still reset. I can't enter the "android recover" mode - the phone resets all the time.
Only I can permanently activate the "fastboot" mode.
I'm sorry but I wrote via translator.
Thank you in advance for any help

Hmmm, works for everyone except you? Are you pressing and holding "power" and then shortly pressing "Volume+" once, as in 0:50-0:51 in movie? Try to play with timings .Do you really have MiA2? Have you tried to hold "power" and press "Vol-" then?

I'm trying to remotely help a friend with a Nexus 6 stuck in a bootloop. The phone is new, just out of the box. He accepted an OTA update before doing anything else, so no USB debugging (or anything else) was set. Now it's stuck in a bootloop.
Is there a step by step guide available to allow flashing a factory image in this situation. Everything I find so far requires USB debugging to be set first. Or, are we talking brick? Returning the phone would be very difficult.

If I were your friend I would put the phone back in the box take it back to the store and demand a brand new one immediately that shouldn't be happening on the stock device

Unfortunately, he bought in the US and is now far outside the US. That's why returning would be difficult.
Dam. Can he boot to the bootloader.

He can do each of these steps but when it reboots after #6 it goes back to the dead robot and "no command"
1. With the phone powered off, press and hold the Volume Down button and the Power button at the same time until the device turns on. You will see the word "Start" with an arrow around it.
2. Press the Volume Down button twice to highlight "Recovery mode"
3. Press the Power button to restart into Recovery mode. You'll see an image of an Android robot with a red exclamation mark and the words "No command."
4. While holding down the Power button, press the Volume Up button.
5. Use the volume buttons to scroll to "wipe data/factory reset" and press the Power button to select it.
6. Scroll down to "Yes - erase all user data" and press the Power button to select it.

On the "no command" screen, hold power, push volume up and reenter recovery. Select reboot system. See if the phone boots up.

At this point, you must connect to a PC and see if you can get fastboot to recognize the device. Then we can proceed.
Will the Nexus Root Toolkit http://www.wugfresh.com/nrt/ work even though USB debug has not been turned on?

USB debugging does not have anything to do with being in fastboot or recovery. As long as the proper drivers are installed, your computer can recognize it and you can use fastboot in bootloader.
I just tried to access fastboot on my fire and pushed the wrong button.
When holding "Volume Up" while switching the device on, it shows "Factory APK mode..." on the screen. After releasing the button the message disappears after 2 seconds and the fire boots up normal.
Nothing has happend, it works normal and all apps still work the way they did before.
So what does that mode do?

Likely just safe mode, only stock apps load, when in safe mode.
Used to boot device if a non stock app is causing device to be unusable.
But why do play store and so on still work when booting into that mode?
It just displays the message while booting, but nothing changes when up and running.
5.0.0 or 5.0.1 ? mine boots on fastboot mode
5.0.1, I can take a picture of it later today, didn't know there might be a difference in the versions.
I can only get fastboot ... Are you able to do this reliably? I've tried different hold an release and timings but can get it to happen.
Sorry for the late reply.
I tried to take a photo of it displaying the mode, but my phone couldn't produce a good one, so I finally took a short video. Focus is bad but you can sometimes read it.
I can repeat the process every time: Power down, hold volume up key, power on -> factory APK mode.
Hope that helps you.
Can nobody proove this works?
I mean I can't be the only one with that mode and I'm still wondering what it does.
stays now in fastbootmode - help
Tried that, now it is showing fastbootmode, nothing else happens.
It's stuck in there, it does not react on buttons, nor is it seen by adb.
What can I do to get it back to life?
[Update]
Meanwhile I googled, installed Android SDK, went to platform-tools and tried adb and fastboot.exe.
adb devices gives an empty line.
fastboot devices gives the tablets serial and the word fastboot
fastboot in conjunktion with reboot, reboot-bootloader, continue tries but does nothing on the tablet.
Looks as if I have to wait until the batterie gives up, what do you think?

My v5.0.1 german tablet boots into
- recovery mode with volume down + power on keys pressed
- fastboot mode with volume up + power on keys pressed.
Recovery mode says:
Amazon system recovery <3e>
Volume up/down to move highlight;
enter button to select.
reboot system now
apply update from ADB
wipe data/factory reset
wipe cache partition
reboot to bootloader
power down
view recovery logs
I have this same problem on my fire that I have only bootloader 5.1.1 and tablet does not start and I can not enter the recovery I wonder if I can help solve
I have 2 Fire 5th gens, 5.1.1, and both have the factory APK mode on vol up button and fastboot mode on vol down. NO recovery mode option. I can't even make it boot into recovery using fastboot reboot commands.

I don't enter in the fastboot mode. The phone is blocking in mode FFBM and I can't touch de bottoms on display
Press & hold Vol+ and Vol- - now press (and hold) Power until phone vibrates. Release power key.
If there is a new screen, release Vol keys,
Select ENGLISH and shutdown.
Now restart phone

Nope. I have the same situation and am stuck with the test mode screen when attempt to boot the system. Recovery works fine. Tried the hold both volume buttons and plug into PC, and now have tried this. Always the same screen, nothing about selecting English, just the option to access the Options Menu. Selecting Fastboot takes me to menu where Ican select Recovery, Startup, AND "Boot to FFBM". Have wiped all but internal SD, and "Repaired" System, Persist, Cache. Have tried installing an official ROM and Lineage ROM. No combinations of these have fixed the problem.
Problem started when I was updating the official ROM and decided to try out the FFBM boot option. BIG mistake.
Now am stuck with a system that will no longer boot.

UPDATE: TWRP 3.0.3-0 saved my ass. It permits selection of booting into EDL (9008) mode, bypassed all the PC based commands that weren't working, and I reloaded Zuk factory ROM again. Got past the test mode screen finally. Discovered that I don't care for the original ROM at all, too many Google things I'm accustomed to (Like Google Play store) missing. Added a few things back in, but wasn't worth the trouble. It took me about 15 minutes to refla sh it using TWRP with the latest nightly version of the Mokee ROM for this device (Android 7.1.2) and it works GREAT. Lineage wasn't ready yet.
The only hold over from all my initial problems is that upon boot it acts of if I'm doing the up Vol button action. It goes to the screen where I can press a Vol button and go into the boot loader or just wait 5 seconds for it to carry on booting normally. I don't know how to correct this, but not really a problem.

Have you flashed or wiped anything? Hold the power button for 10+ seconds to force reboot and see if it makes difference.
Sent from my lithium using XDA Labs
I don't know what happened, today I woke up, pick my phone, anwser a few messages and them suddenly my phone reboot and all goes blank. So I connected it to the power, the cellphone started to blink the blank led light e shows the power symbol over and over, them after a time shows this message: "Start Up Failed" Your device didn't start successfully. Use the Software Repair Assistant on computer to repair your device."
I did what was told, but after all the recover procedure complete the same messages and bliking behaviors starts again. My phone is not rooted. Is there a solution that I can try to solve this issue?
Thanks in Advance.
Motorola G5S Plus reboot
Try this. Start the bootloader (Boats Vol -, + power at the same time), browse with Vol + or Vol-, search for "recovery mode", with power you accept. If "no command" appears on the screen, press power + Vol +. There you have many options. You can do Factory reset.

Hi lokochris, thanks for answering
When I select the recovery mode, this message appears in the phone: "failed to validate recovery mode. ERROR: Failed to pass validation, backup to fastboot."
The factory reset only reboot again, and again blank light blinking and power logo in a loop.
Motorola G5S Plus reboot
use this method https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fMWbC_c6758
This youtube method was the first thing I tried. It shows the Motorola logo and returns to the same message. I believe something is blocked, because the Power logo remains in Loop and the white light is flashing.
These results are displayed only when the phone is charging. Without charging or cable on the PC, my phone doesn't even start.
Motorola G5S Plus reboot
Try this. If the problem continues, it may be a hardware problem. I have read over there, if you try to remove google account or unlock bootloader, the phone enters hard brick and it is almost unbrick.

Hi lokochris,
What I need to do to run this batch scripts? because the link only talks about the scripts, but not what you need to do to run them.
Moto g5s plus reboot
Just run the one you need ( bootload), connect the phone to the PC and run automatically
