Got my phone this Sunday. I had LG G2 previously. Performance and battery backup wise this phone is comparable to G2. What bugs me is the touch performance. I can't seem to make horizontal swipes work properly. Majority of the time, the phone detects it as vertical swipes.
I then have to scroll down again and very precisely swipe left or right. Anyone else have this issue. Note that the same apps and my swiping methods have worked flawlessly with G2 which I had for more than two years.

Yup even happenes to me... Especially clearing the notifications,...
But it doesn't happen in CM!!!
This is certainy an OS issue, try updating to global beta or, to diagnose the problem, go to developer tools-> show touch information, and if you see some weird shaping lines and not the actual line you drew on the screen, with a little overflow, you might have a hardware problem.
Hope this helps

That is absolutely a relief knowing that it doesn't happen to CM. So It's definitely just an MIUI issue. Thanks for letting us know.
The same problem here in my mi5 (rom MIUI 8 Italia based on latest china developer)

The same problem for me: Mi5 (rom MIUI 8 Italia based on latest china developer).
Horizontal swipes seems too sensitive
I installed cyanogenmod and the touch gestures works Pretty good! Maybe miui 8 calibration has to be patched

I suspect it is a hardware issue.

it isn't hardware issue: I installed Cyanogenmod rom and with it touch sensibility is ok
I also have some issues while using the official miui global rom. But with both, cm13 and cm14.1 everything works flawless! So you should think about flashing it and seeing if its a hardware issue.

Welcome to the club, I had already a indentical tread like this, same one! To me this touch it's so annoying, because I constantly have to do something on my oneplus x brothers phone and my previously Xperia z5 father's phone, and the touch of then it's so much smoother... If I had knowledge of this issue previously it certainly would have been a deal breaker.. Im waiting for my boot unlocker SMS from Xiaomi... My biggest fear it's that the camera quality be much worst on CM 13, it is??

You are right. Been to CM13, and now back to MIUI 8 because I need the camera quality of MIUI. Well, its just now a matter of preference to me.
I have some problems with touch on my Mi5.
I'am on global developer (official ota) version, and I have sharp lcd on my Mi5.
From time to time, touch is loosing smoothness and look like is ''brooke''/not perform normal.
When this happens, only resete helps.
Right now, 2 days works normal.
Before thet, 10 days was normal, and than problem was there.
Is it any solution, but I want stay with MIUI?
Thanks and best regards.
The touchscreen is not working properly with the Nillkin Tempered Glass applied.
Every time I charge my phone with my Blitzwolf QC 3.0 charger, I have issues with the touchscreen. To resolve this, I need to reboot the phone. After the reboot, the touchscreen response is back to normal.
It looks like the charging changes the way the capacitive touchscreen works. Until I reboot the phone.

It happens the same to me, after charging the touch responsiveness most of the time is very slow and buggy, a reboot is needed. I'm on LineageOS and have tempered glass on, but can't remeber which one.
I'm happy to find that somebody else has this issue since I was thinking it was just on my phone, but this seems to be some kind of different issue then.
I can confirm that Xiaomi Mi 5s 3GB 64GB Golden version with Global 8.0.3.0 MAGMIDI Stable has this issue, the touch screen is not reliable, sometimes we try to swype horizontally and it understands a vertical swype, in other hand, it also happens that you touch the screen at one point and it thinks that you were holding the screen on that pointing, popping out a holding option.
I reported on Xiaomi's official forum, it's good to report there in order to get their attention.

The second issue you're reporting happens to me only with xMIUI xposed module, I activated 'expand notification with one finger swipe downward' and I has that issue too, but I don't have it without that module. Could this be your problem?
Hi All,
I've just bought a 256GB Mix. loving it but i've noticed a distracting flickering when the screen is at higher brightness settings. It's hard to describe almost like random dips occur in the brightness.
Obviously auto brightness is off and i've disabled as much battery saving things as i can find.
It persists through different ROMS, tried various MIUI roms, RR, and AICP.
Do i have a dud? Any Firmware updates i can try?
Are you on the newest firmware I believe its 7.12.21

Nope, I never did find a solution. I just have the brightness around 90%, it doesn't seem to do it around that. It's plenty bright at that so I'm happy. Considered sending it for RMA but couldn't be bothered with it being a Chinese seller, just thought it would be too stressful..
I'm considering upgrading to a Mix 2s soon anyway..
I have a similar problem on Xiaomi 4A, it looks like this video (iphone right): Youtu.be/Q6CANkiPkUM
Do you have a similar flicker?
Replacement screen for what 80 bucks
Perhaps the problem is not in the screen, but in the power supply pwm - inductor, capacitor
Hello I've redmi note 5 pro i also have same issue past few months but i didn't get any solution. when my phone brightness will high then screen flickering too fast and this issue is too much trouble. So please any one have any solution please let me know.
Hi guy's, so im new at Xiaomi devices for myself...yes, look strange to me that i have recomended all kind of Xiaomi devices to my family and myself didnt have one, so that is about to change.
Long story short, Xiaomi fan since 2016 and buying all kind of things (Powerbank's, selfie stick, mi band 1S and Mi Band 3, Mi Speakers and so on) but never going for a phone...all recomended by me then, my girfriend buy a Redmi Note 4 almost 2 years ago, my mom a Redmi 5 last year, my brother a Mi A2 last christmas, my father a Mi A1 in May, and my cousin a Redmi Note 7 in May too.
I see everyone happy with their phones so i will go for a step above and buy a Mi9 cause i only can live with a "higher spec" one - dont compare with expensive one, cause i never buy expensive ones (more than 500 euros).
Now, im here and a Mi 9 should arrive within 2 weeks, i only have one choise: 6Gb/128Gb cause, storage for me is a must and since this phone cant handle a microSD, i be sure that my 25Gb of FLAC audio need to go somewhere big and i need space for more and more, and videos and pictures.
The color is a black one, cause i want straight and simple, elegant but i need to admit i already touch and use a Mi9 at store in blue color and i love it so damn too but for me is all black. Why my choise about Mi 9? easy, im usually buying phones with IR blaster cause i need it, and love to have it (trolling mode, and my job at repair store is a easy for me).
In search for a need of a phone with wireless charging, is a no brainer to chose a Mi 9, i want to try out that on display fingerprint scanner and i already did, and fall in love too, is a quick and easy step in technology in general.
Overall, Mi9 have it all, all i need and want.
So my questions to Mi 9 users and to try improve my experience with my device are:
1 - what the best method to debloat the phone without unlocking the bootloader? - in my LG G6 have a cmd list and then debloat by using it, they are not deleted but is deativated in the phone so they wont run and save memory. - are something similar to do with Mi 9?
2 - for who use wireless charging: do the phone gets too hot that you are affraid of glass back to look like or you think it will break?
3 - right now, the stock rom have some "big deal" bugs?
4 - the back scratch easy? i mean, you do the first 2 or 3 cleans and they already have scratches?
5 - best glass screen protector? i see a lot of 3d, 4d or so new type of screen protectors but im afrraid because of the corners will not adhere fine or lift when the phone be inside a case. Nillkin someone? - i usually use that brand for my G6 and until now is perfect.
6 - for people who are in Global ROM, there still ads all over stock apps or is gone?
For now is everything, sorry for this long text but im hype right now, is a new toy coming and i need to threat them right.
As a Mi9 user, I only can answer 3 questions properly;
3.- Stock rom doesn't have any major bugs (Not that I have found) but they're updating it pretty slow.. we're a couple of versions behind other devices like the redmi ones.. Although, I always see flashing a xiaomi.eu rom as a "must do", because is debloated, has better ram optimization, many extra options, etc. But that's just preference.
4.- I don't see the back panel scratched till today, I've been using this phone since a couple of months, but I would recommend using a case just in case.
5.- I use hydrogel screen protectors on almost all my devices, you can search what are those if you want, but I recently found one from the brand "Jasinber" on Amazon, it feels premium and it's pretty cheap, includes all the usual installation kit and 2 pieces, it has a black border but doesn't "eat" that much from the screen tho.

thanks for your reply, as about the xiaomi.eu ROMs, you can flash it right away or need to unlock bootloader in order to flash them?

need to have bootloader unlocked to flash xiaomi.eu or ROS etc.
If you have the global version you can jump between the europe and global version ROMs with bootloader locked using XiaomiMiTool V2 but never to china rom

if so, thanks...i will do it sure, only thing i dont want is unlock the bootloader for now, i will give time, 3, 4 months until i do that cause im affraid of the phone have some kind of issue and let me down with booloader unlocked and my guarantee is void after that.

Xiaomi ADB Fastboot tools is the easiest way to debloat IMHO, you can choose to disable/delete apps from a preconfigured list. https://github.com/Saki-EU/XiaomiADBFastbootTools
SirTAVARES considers a lot more things "bloat" but has a great list you can use with ADB to delete things

No, but I haven't got the 27W charger so it's not going that fast. It does get quite hot playing games while fast charging using a cable, but it's just uncomfortable, I'm not worried about it breaking
3
Was happy enough on stock, but there were a bunch of quirks that weren't quite "dealbreakers". I tried out xiaomi.eu and am much happier, it's pretty much stock but outright better. Not sure about the current state of stock, but notifications missing from the status bar was the worst.

Glass back does scratch, but not through just cleaning. I think I have faint key marks but it still looks amazing and you wouldn't notice.
5
Am using a Cafele that came free with their cheap case.
+ Has a front camera cutout
+ Has this edge solution that works great, and can be used to hide existing scratches
- Not 3D, doesn't feel as nice doing edge gestures
I read the drawback of some (all?) of the Nillkins was the camera hole gets dusty or if you misalign it it's in photos. Ones with cutouts are probably better
So, im learning and reading something around i have seen a lot of people complaining about audio latency on bluetooth headset and low volume problem, anyone can confirm is general or affect only few devices?
its software related and if it is, how to solve that?
Bluetooth hasn't been a problem for me in xiaomi.eu. (I use LDAC/APT-X codecs only though) Low volume is software, if you forget the device and repair it should get it's normal volume back. It only happened a couple of times for me.
1. you have a tool to debloat it via fastboot, a java app is available in this subforum, called Xiaomi ADB/Fastboot tools. You can manually select what to remove.
2. Phone doesn't get hot while fast charging, though I am using a 5w Samsung wireless charger.
3. No major issues in the stock rom, other than the fact that the notifications only briefly show on the bar. Easy to solve without root by installing NotchTest from the playstore.
4. Have no scratches on the back and I also don't use any phone cases most of the time.
5. I bought this case because it looks typical spygen and only have good things to say about it.
6. I've never seen an ad on this phone.
By far the best phone I ever used. Super fast and smooth, incredible camera, MIUI is not really bloated imo, overall a great experience.
It's super disappointing. At this point every single person whose case I read about and who's done the test, has those problems. Playing games like COD or PUBG sucks but even if you don't, scrolling gets weird, pinch to zoom gets weird. Did anybody here actually run this app and didn't have the issues showed in that video from the other thread? The only positive comments that I read in various places are like this: "Mine works great. Haven't tested it though." which pretty much makes me assume at this point that they also have those issues unless they prove otherwise. It also seems that both 4G and 5G versions are affected. Samsung's silent for now. Just spoke with a guy who's on the second one already and he says that it "seems better" but the issues are still there and he knew it before he even ran the app to test it. So again, can anybody with any S20 FE confirm that they happen to have a problem-free touch screen? Is there a remote chance that it will be fixed with updates? Will Samsung recall thousands of units?
Mine seems pretty good though I can replicate the issue on the touch screen tester.
I dont have any issues (it seems like) with scrolling or CoD. I have noticed occasionally when im doing pinch to zoom (just zooms out)
My touchscreen seems work right...i hace not any issues.

According to my research, not everyone has problems. I know about a few people who are from the 1st batch having no issues. Today someone reported that he had the exchange unit and not experiencing this issue, although he has experienced it on the first unit. But that's an Exynos 4G variant (EU). Problem however not related to Snapdragon or Exynos version, both had the issue. Someone reported that the newest firmware eliminated the problem, but that is newer that the Germany DBT version from 2 weeks ago. I suggest to wait with exchange units. Return but wait a few weeks after rebuying it, until it is widely confirmed. This is what I am gonna do.
Interesting. Some more time has to pass and we will see what happens then. I ordered mine after not doing a thorough research and the moment I ordered it, suddenly everyone I knew had one and had problems with it .
I'm a bit reluctant to Xiaomi but it's seem to be the cheaper. I had a Poco M3 that didn't turn off anymore after one year of use and I was wondering if this Redmi Note 10 Pro had the same or others issue ? (This before buying it since it's the same brand).
To be honest, this phone has got Power off and power on Scheduling, So if there was a hardware issue with buttons or something that stopped you turning it off, you could still set a schedule for it to automatically power down. All phones have problems eventually and yes it seems like its a lot of power for such a cheap phone, but i personally did lots of research when i was looking at Xiaomi as a replacement phone, i didnt come across anything that put me off except on some of the newer flagship models and Mi models there appeared to be a battery overheating problem, thats what pushed towards the Note 10 pro, which seemed to be the most solid of the Xiaomi range the last couple year. Do some research, read the best Xiaomi of 22 Reviews, they give you all the pros and cons of each model, im sure that will help you make your mind up Bro.

Thanks for your reply. I've buy a Samsung M52 and see if I like it or not even though it didn't seem to have custom rom support.
