I've been trying to do this all night and am just having no luck. I was able to downgrade to Android 4.4.4 using C6906_14.4.A.0.157_Generic_US.ftf via FlashTool, and I was able to use KingRoot to gain root and FlashTool sees this, but when I look in the system menu it tells me that the bootloader is not unlockable, as well when I attempt to run the TWRP app with root and flash the TWRP image it says FLASH FAILED. I attempt to unlock the bootloader using FlashTool only to get errors such as:
WARN - ERR_SEVERITY="MINOR";ERR_CODE="0025";ERR_DYNAMIC="Wrong parameters";
ERROR - Processing of loader.sin finished with errors.
ERROR - null
I just want to be able to flash TWRP so I can install a custom 9.0 ROM and bring a little life back to this old device. Any suggestions?
Did you solve this?
I have the same problem

Hi!
I have a C6603 on 10.3.1.A.0.244 Generic. The device has a locked BL (so stock kernel), but it is rooted and has a custom recovery installed.
Now the OTA Updater tells me 10.3.1.A.2.67 is available. Is it safe to apply this update or will it softbrick the device, since it is rooted and has a custom recovery image installed?
Best regards
In my experience, It's safe, but you'll lose root and your custom recovery. You'll need to reinstall both the recovery and re root it.
Thanks for both of you
I have similar issue here BUT:
C6602
10.3.1.A.0.244
I have unlocked bootloader and dual recovery
When attempting to install the new OTA update, it fails when using the system update option on the device and when trying to update using the PC Companion, it says: The phone contains modified software that cannot be updated
should re-locking bootloader solve this issue?

In order to update the phone via PCC, yes. You must be on locked bootloader

My personal experience : OTA will not install because you have custom recovery: will just reboot and gives the error on installation.
However if I'm rooted and on the stock recovery, OTA installs absolutely OK and does NOT break root (just reinstall SuperSU from the GMarket and update binaries after the update)
Saying so, I can NOT give any guarantee that the root will stay in your particular case, it's just my personal experience.
I am trying to downgrade my firmware to .534 in order to root and install a modified rom. I got as far as installing dual recovery for LB having gone directly from .290 to .534 with flash tool. For whatever reason only the TWRP portion would actually install and as I needed CWM I didn't go any further. At this point I noticed that the phone function wasn't working and I was getting an "Invalid Card - No Service" message on my lock screen.
On the recommendation of some forum folk I flashed back to stock .290 which cured the sim card issue but on subsequent attempts to downgrade again (this time via .257) I continue to get the Invalid Card message on the lockscreen. All were clean flashes with a full wipe, I tried excluding the baseband on one attempt but that did not alter the result.
Has anybody encountered this before, any help would be appreciated.
after flashing .534 fw..... root it....then make TA backup.....then unlock BL.....then flash .290 fw....flash doomlord kernel....root ur fon....now u r good to flash custom rom through recovery...
Hello, I am trying to recover my phone but I ran into several problems.
- When using TWRP 2.8.6.0 to install any ROM I keep getting an error ("This package supports bootloader(s): 0x4882, 0x4883, 0x4886; this device has bootloader 0x4807"). So my question on this: Where to download one of these and how to install them with the terminal of TWRP (I would like to use fastboot but ran in another problem)?
- When launching fastboot trying to flash a bootloader (where I'm not sure of it's the right version) it wont find my device [XT1068], I tried to solve it but nothing worked.
I hope someone could help me with at least one of the problems.
I think you are in kk ROM/bootloader and want to install a lollipop ROM.
Lollipop doesn't work on 4.4 bootloader (How to update your bootloader
Run fastboot with administrative privilege
Hello,
I recently got a Sony Xperia SP which has never been rooted before. It has the original Sony ROM with build number 12.1.A.1.201. I would like to root this phone. I tried every tool I could find on this forum, amongst other the Doomlord toolkit and towelroot. However, none of these tools was able to give me root access according to root checker apps. It seems that with my current ROM, the exploits that these tools use have been patched. Flashing TWRP as recovery does not work: the command "fastboot flash recovery twrp.img" fails with a message "Partition not found".
Could you guys recommend a strategy to root this phone without bricking it? I was thinking to flash an older ROM, root it, and then update to the new ROM. However, I don't know where to find older ROMs for my phone. Also, how do I backup my current ROM if I cannot install TWRP first? Thanks for helping me out here!

I'm using the last build of the Concept program for the Z3 Compact, .3657
This is what I've learned and tried:
- We're to use the recovery partition, FOTAKernel doesn't seem to apply.
- I've tried to flash different versions of TWRP, the one in the official site, 3.3.0-arian and even 3.3.1-0.3-z3c. They all flash without any problem while in Fastboot but I can't get into them afterwards. Choosing to boot to recovery from the Fastboot on-screen menu or pressing Vol- & Power while the phone is off boots to the system.
- Trying to boot directly to them leads to an error: FAILED (remote: 'bootimage: incomplete or not signed'), so I'm guessing that even though the bootloader of the device is unlocked there's still some kind of signature checking being performed by the bootloader.
- I've tried to use Magisk from another device to patch the boot image of the Z3 Compact and then flash that image, with the idea of getting a provisional root access and then go full Magisk but it doesn't work either.
Is there any way to have root access on Concept? I wouldn't mind using a /system based root manager but since I can't even get a custom recovery up I can't install it.
If anyone knows the right procedure to achieve it, please let me know, I'm interested on running that for a while.
